This story was not a typical rom com but had so much depth and emotions to it. Both Tatum and Jason had been through things in their past and had tough luck in their previous relationships.Loved how Leddy had developed their characters and kept me captivated throughout the story. I had received an advance copy of this book and I literally binge read it and loved it sooo much. This was the first time I’ve read books by Leddy and I was lucky enough to meet this talented author at an authors signing event . Not only is she a talented author but a fabulous person too . Can’t wait to read more books by this talented author .

This story was so cute! I LOVED Jay and Tatum. I went in unsure if this story was really for me, considering I’d never read anything by this author before, but I was wrong. This story was absolutely amazing, and I’m now planning to read more from this author. These characters keep you giggling and swooning the entire time, and the hijinks couldn’t be any better. This is a definite fun must read!

This book had a lot of ingredients to be great but felt undercooked to me. I could never really get a handle on the heroine,. I didnt like how she was a constant liar. It seemed odd that she kept saying she was a terrible liar but the whole book was about her lies. I really enjoyed the hero although his man whore past was pretty off putting.

Eep! This book was all the things! I love a Leddy "Light" book. Lighthearted and fun with more humor and comedy than you could shake a stick at but with just enough drama to make it REAL. Tatum is such an amazing character and so relatable, girlfriend should come with a warning label for embarrassing decibels and shenanigans when put on the spot. Jason is a complete surprise and I adore him. Definitely recommending
this one! So good!

Poor Tatum gets dumped by her fiance on her birthday, what a jerk. She hasn't moved on and she unfortunately works with him and here comes a new sweet cook who also happens to be his new girlfriend. Trying to save face she lies to her coworkers telling them that she is going out with Jason. Jason is Tatum's bestfriends cousin who Kelsey hates or atleast does not think very highly of him. Jason is just coming out of a relationship that he has been in on for 5 years and he also broken hearted but he can't help but be attracted to Tatum. These two start off a no strings affair but develop feelings for each other, but when Jason finds out that Tatum had lied about him and he looks like a no good cheater he breaks off what little they had and both of them realize that their feelings were so much more.

I am trying to come up with a few things to write in this review and the only thing that pops in my mind is the word lies over and over again. I was very fed up with all the lies Tatum kept telling to everyone. Up until the end of the book, half of the words coming out of Tatum's mouth are about the lies she kept telling everyone and I couldn't stand it. Jason doesn't find the truth until one of the last chapters and Tatum had everyone believing that he was a horrible person because it was fitting her lies. I kept wishing that she would explain some of the truth to Jason sooner and they would keep up with the lies together, but that didn't happen, unfortunately. One thing I would also have liked to not have read as Jason's previous conquests and specifically about him taking the virginity of two of Kelsey's friends. Who needed to know that. Kesley painted him as the bad guy without that info. There wasn't a single character that was likable maybe with the exception of Michael's new girlfriend who sort of redeemed herself towards the end of the book.

Meet Tatum Alexander. She's a determined woman. Her career is very important to her. So important that she keeps working at her ex's restaurant. Yep, no joke. And when he employs his next girlfriend they become co-worker. No joke. And then to top it off, Tatum presents her fake fictional boyfriend, Jason aka Jay. Only Jason is her best friends cousin. Fresh out of a relationship and is cured from these. They agree ona casual something, only the boundaries between real and fake are vanishing more and more.
The (Half) Truth is a entertaining read, I liked the characters and the writing, the story is ok, I know it's romance, I only wished for the heroine to have a bit more of a backbone. I give 4;25 stars.

Tatum’s life seemed to be going great. A job as a sou-chef that she loves, engaged to the love of her life, an awesome best friend. She couldn’t have been happier. Until her fiancé dropped a bomb on her. It seems they weren’t on the same page regarding their wedding and their relationship. Things between them have ended, but Tatum is still working at his restaurant. Not only does she have to see him every day, but now she has to deal with his new girlfriend working there as well. When things get a little awkward, she tries to prove to everyone that she is over her ex. And what better way to do that than to pretend you are dating your best friend’s cousin. A little lie never hurt anyone. Until that lie just keeps getting bigger and bigger and bigger and at some point, is going to blow up in her face.

Jason just moved back to his hometown, leaving his ex-girlfriend behind. When he meets his cousin’s best friends, he can’t help but see how beautiful she is. He is warned to stay away from her, but it seems like maybe fate has different plans. Ok maybe it’s not really fates, but they seem to keep ending up in the same places. They both cannot deny the chemistry between them or how much fun they have when they are together. So maybe a secret “friends with benefits” agreement will work. But we all know how that goes. Will Jason and Tatum realize there is more to their friendship? Will her lies catch up to her? What will happen when Jason’s cousin finds out? You will have to read the book to find out.

I really enjoyed this one. I loved the banter between the two of them. Despite his past reputation Jason was a good guy. They had a fun side to the both of them that I loved. They both had a sarcastic way about them which made them perfect for each other. And I loved the supporting characters, especially Kelsey. I cannot wait for more from these characters.

The title says it all. There's going to be a half truth in here somewhere, but omg the tangled mess of little white lies sure does become complicated.

Cute story about a woman who refuses to quit her dreams just because her boyfriend dumped her.
Cute story about a woman willing to tell a few fibs--or so--in an attempt to save grace.

Really. We've all been there, right?!

Tatum's story was just written down for us to witness.

The fastest way to get over someone is to get under someone else...right?
Jason recently moved home to be closer to his family and Tatum is his cousin’s best friend. Both just off of recent breakups, what could go wrong?

Poor Tatum. She is a hot mess. This chick is sweet and full of sass. She is also a walking disaster. After her boyfriend of two years proposes, she is in bliss. Until he dumps her, on her birthday of all days, with an excuse that leaves her thinking WTF just happened.

Fast forward a few months, she is working in the same restaurant with her now ex and his new girlfriend. Talk about awkward. She doesn’t want to be the pitied party in the relationship gone bad so she tells one innocent little white lie...

I freaking loved this book! It was hilarious to point of tears at some parts. Tatum was quirky and Jason was too sweet. I felt they just clicked. They had fun together and what started out as just a fling grew into something more with a lot of laughs along the way.

This author writes her characters with so much depth and I got sucked in and didn’t want to put the book down. I loved this book! It was funny and sweet with a little bit of angst thrown in. Leddy Harper is now added to my 1-click list!

This book is full of one fib after another, even the characters couldn’t keep them straight. All of those little deceptions certainly made for an interesting story filled with laugh aloud moments, hot and steamy love scenes, and fun characters. Half truth was a good story all the way around.

What can be worse than being dumped by your fiancé on your birthday? The fact that he is your boss? Or that your chance of win him back fall to the ground when his new girlfriend becomes your new co-worker? For Tatum, all alternatives are her worst nightmare and unfortunately still recent wounds. But for that sauté chef prone to messes and confusion, what's bad can get worse. Tired of the pitying looks of her colleagues and witnessing her ex with another woman, she tells a little lie. After all, what harm is there in making up a boyfriend? But when the suitor is her best friend's cousin and the initial lie turns to a huge one, Tatum has certainly just gotten into the biggest mess.
Jason is back in town. After a recent breakup, he just wants to stay close to his family, get a job and settle down. Upon meeting his cousin's friend, the attraction between the two is immediate. Just like the certainty that she is a walking hazard, accident-prone and totally unpredictable. Too bad her cousin is determined to keep him away from her friend. But he never liked receiving orders anyway.
And a casual encounter with a Tatum handing out hugs ends up being the beginning of the mess. Tatum is buried in lies. Jason has no idea what's going on. The two are a couple. Without ever having a date. As the lies increase and spread, Jason and Tatum get close, and by initiating something real, the chances of future problems increase considerably.
The book is funny, with unbelievable one-liner and situations. Tatum and her propensity to chaos made me feel sorry for Jason. This girl is a danger. As the story progresses, the reader becomes apprehensive of the moment when this confusion will be discovered. The other characters are relevant to the plot and well written. Tatum creates a network of lies that ends up putting Jason in the role of the villain and apologizing to a man who does not give second chances will be her biggest challenge.
The (Half) Truth is a light and fun romantic comedy. But that ends up teaching a valuable lesson about the value of truth in a relationship and the weight of lies. A good reading.

This story definitely gave me the love and hate feels, big time.

Tatum, who still wants to get back with her loser ex, decides to use her friend Kelsey's cousin Jason as a means to make him jealous. A friends with benefits relationship ensues.

Throughout this story I tried to find one redeeming quality that would make me sympathize with Tatum and I couldn't. Uh, she annoyed me so much that I struggled to finish the book. I really loved Jason, though, and his worry and love for his mom. This was an interesting story even though Tatum annoyed me so much.

A funny, light-hearted rom-com. I really liked Tatum, even though she was a hot mess.

Many thanks to Netgalley, the publisher, and the author for my ARC. All opinions are my own.

I enjoyed this book. It did take me a little bit to get into this book, but once I did I enjoyed it.

Tatum, oh my! This girl certainly got herself into trouble! It shows that one lie can turn in to a entire mountain of lies and you’ll never be able to get over them!

She was an interesting character though. Funny and quirky. She has the best relationship with her best friend and family. Her relationship with Jason was so easy and effortless, once they got through an awkward beginning.

I really enjoyed this funny and light hearted story from Leddy Harper. Tatum and Jason had great chemistry early on. I loved Tatum's quirkiness and how through a series of misunderstandings and "half truths"Jason was always there for her.

The story begins with Tatum being left humiliated when her fiance dumps her on her birthday. She's trying to get her life back on track starting with moving in with her best friend Kelsey. When she meets Kelsey's cousin Jason. They are immediately attracted to one another but with Jason's reputation as a ladies man Kelsey warns Jason to stay away from Tatum.
Jason's trying to prove to his family that he's put his "player" ways behind him but he can't seem to stay away from Tatum.
There are many laugh out loud moments from Tatum as she gets in these hilarious and embarasing situations but there is also some steamy scenes between Tatum and Jason.
Overall I enjoyed this story and I definitely recommend it.

4 Stars / 3 Steam Fans

I normally LOVE the way Leddy Harper leaves me guessing throughout a story with angst and build-up; however, at the 65% mark of this story Tatum and Jason were both driving my crazy with the wishy-washy decisions that they were both making. I loved the sexual chemistry between Tatum and Jason. I enjoyed the fun banter and goofiness of the situations that they both found themselves in so in the end I really did enjoy the overall story even with some of the flaws I have stated.

There is nothing I enjoy more in a story than quirky characters and this book delivered for sure. Tatum is awkward around people and that just takes the quirkiness to an entirely different level. This story was great, made me laugh out loud more than once. Fun book for sure!

Contemporary Romance

Six months ago, Tatum was engaged to Michael, the man she thought was the love of her life, but it all came crashing down when he broke the engagement off on the night of her birthday party. They both work at the same restaurant, and Tatum could have left, but she had worked too hard in the sous line to walk away. Then, Michael gets involved with a new waitress. Tired of the pitying looks she’s getting from friends, Tatum declares to them that she has a new boyfriend named Jay…except she doesn’t tell the man that she’s using him as her pretend guy. She’s only just met him! One lie leads to another, and soon Tatum is in way too deep. Too bad that she’s now attracted to him…

Jason (Jay) moved back to his hometown after years in Las Vegas, ready to start a new life after breaking off with his longtime girlfriend. His cousin, Kelsey, thinks he’s a “player” and warns her best friend, Tatum, to stay away from him. Yet, Jason and Tatum start to hang around each other and they even end up having sex one night. She does act a little weird around him at times, and her friends treat him like dirt. Jason soon learns that they think he and Tatum are a couple and that he cheated on her. Will he learn the (whole) truth?

Tatum spins one tale after another in THE (HALF) TRUTH, all in order to make her coworkers think that she’s moved on from her ex-fiancé. Jason is the “Jay” she has been telling them about and she is pretty convincing, even having a picture of them together on her phone. Tatum is attracted to Jason but it takes most of this tale before she realizes it. Meanwhile, Jason wants to see where things will lead between them and is flummoxed by her hot and cold attitude toward him. The lengths that she goes to in order to prop up Jason as her new boyfriend—while hiding it from him and Kelsey—makes for some cute and funny scenes. There’s no hiding the fact that there is sexual chemistry between them and they even end up having a fling. But is Tatum still in love with Michael? She thought once Michael saw that she’d moved on he’d look at her differently, like in wanting to get back together. Does it work?

In THE (HALF) TRUTH there is a lot of misunderstandings between Tatum and Jason. Is he still the cad that Kelsey claims him to be? What about his ex—has he moved on? The relationship between Jason and Tatum goes back and forth from on to off in a flash, enough to make you want to bash their heads together. But, watching them kiss and makeup is part of the joy of reading a romance. How long will it be before the truth is out and will they find a way for a happily-ever-after?

An entertaining romance with a bit of humor, I highly recommend THE (HALF) TRUTH.
