A perfect book for people who want a little introspection or as a gift for friends. I love the colorful pages and the questions are simple but a great way to look a little deeper into you everyday reactions to things, etc. very cute and simple.
This is a really cool and fun book to use, especially since it is just a way to get to know yourself (as the title says) by answering a bunch of random question. I really liked that it has some questions you wouldn't initially think to ask yourself.
I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. I wanted to use this with my journal and that is what I have been doing. I have not answered all of the 165 questions. I have done a few. I love how colorful each of the pages the questions are. There are some blank pages. I guess you could write your own questions there or note. I found the book fun and it could be used as a game among friends.
KNOW YOURSELF by Irene Smit and Astrid van der Hulst is a really fun, reflective book that we
may use to help with displays in the library. Much of the book features hand lettering by Milou Curvers, a Dutch graphic designer. Examples of some of the questions posed are :
Which day of your life would you like to relive?
What were the three best things that happened today?
If you could start your own business, what would it be?
When did you last do something for the first time?
Clearly, the questions could also be used to prompt discussions in advisory or to start some internal monologues and this book could make a cute graduation gift, too. The authors are creative directors of Flow magazine and we have a few other books that celebrate "creativity, imperfection and life’s little pleasures" like recently ordered copy of Creativity Takes Courage, Journal Sparks and Start Where You Are.
This book is a fun, colorful, shiny kind of book. The pages are filled with one question per page in a funky writing style and colors. I think it's a great little book for asking a question at random to meditate on or use as a journal prompt. I wasn't able to download the book from NetGalley for some reason but I checked it out at the bookstore. I think it's a great book for those that want to know themselves better and do some inner work.
I enjoyed this book. It was full of questions that help me get to know me — a better me. It is good because it makes you actually sit down and figure out important things about yourself and which helps you correct what you think needs work.
Know Yourself is something completely different than I've read lately. Full of interesting questions, you really do get to know yourself better, and I think that's something that more people could use. I'm not even really sure what to say about this book, other than it's cute and informative.
It's a quick read, unless you're actually sitting down and writing down your answers. I think this would be a fun book to just have, and to write in and see if your answers change throughout the years, which I'm sure they would. Some examples of the questions inside are; How close are you to being who you want to be, what book did you recently finish with a big sigh, and which family member do you most resemble.
Thanks for reading!

Oh my! I haven't finished with the whole book but I know it's an awesome book and will review it asap.
Know Yourself filled with exercises within ourselves, some easy questions and some needed pondering around.
What I truly like about the book was that the question might look silly but it raised a thinking moment and it'd be a good get-to-know-yourself book without giving away some unnecessary advices.
This is a fun book of questions designed to think about what makes you, you. This would also be a fun book for a girls night or a night with friends to get to know what really makes someone else tick. I will enjoy going back through this book and answering each question. I could see even pulling this book out on a date night with my hubby...maybe even making a game out of it to see if we could get the right answer for each other! A fun read for sure!
each pages has just one question on it that fills the page. Font and pages change colour. It feels like it can be a book of journal prompts or to ask family or friends.
With journaling the latest trend, there has been a slew of books like this, as well as several free lists available on-line. However, this book stands above the norm.
The book itself is visually arresting. With bright colors, patterns and hand-written questions, everything "pops" at you! The wide variety of questions contained in these pages range from simple to complex, fun to serious, some that you answer immediately, and others that give you pause.
Whether you use this as a tool for journaling, to get to know yourself better, or to share with someone and compare answers, this book will help you define what's important to you, what you'd like to have more/less of in your life, and help put your life in perspective. You may very well find you don't like some of the answers, and choose to change course.
It is wise to examine our paths now and then, where we've been, where we are, where we're headed. This book will help you do just that!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Workman Publishing Company for allowing me to read an e-ARC of this book in exchange for an unbiased review. All opinions here are my own.
This book will be available to the public on April 2, 2019.
I'm so happy journaling is become more popular because it can really help you sort out yourself - regardless of if you've got mental health problems or not. And sometimes it's a nice way of looking back at good memories too.
But sometimes there is no inspiration and you're sitting there, staring at the blank page... and nothing happens. Of course you can start writing how you don't know what to journal about and sometimes there's something opening up inside you through this. But do I want to start my entries every so often this way? I do not.
Also there are themes one should journal about but shys away from because they are painful or you don't want to know what conclusion you will come to so you just don't start working on them at all.
And then some issues you just don't think off at all.
And this is where Know Yourself comes into play. Usually I'd be like "yeah well... there are lots of good prompts online that you get for free." But in this case... you not only get interesting prompts but the pages are so beautifully designed... they could be used for wall decoration or in your planner - if you use one. Also it's less work gathering prompts if we're honest.
Last Words: I may be tempted to get the print copy as well...
I really enjoyed "Know Yourself", a fun little book meant to inspire self-reflection. Each page is artfully done in bright colors and eye-catching designs with a single question to answer about yourself. Each one is beautifully hand written in India Ink with a round brush by Milou Curvers. It was enlightening to sit and go through a few questions when I had a spare moment to sit and reflect.
Know Yourself is a book of questions. Each page poses a question for yourself - like what is your favorite room in the house? What do you think about before you go to sleep? I tried to see which questions I was able to come up with answer for right away, which one I had to think about, and which answer I wasn't very happy with to try and figure out more about myself and maybe what bad habits I have and should attempt to change. (And I probably should have kept track of how many answers had something to do with Hanson. Geez. LOL)
I did find I got stuck for a long time on "What were the three best things that happened today?" and maybe I should start one of those journals writing 1 good thing that happened each day to try and focus more on the positive and what I did do than the negative or what I still have to do.
I really enjoyed this book and how it made me think about things about myself.

I received a free e-copy of this book in order to write this review, I was not otherwise compensated. This book will be released April 2, 2019 from Workman Publishing Company.
I loved the layout of this book. It would be great for journaling! The pages are bright colors, with awesome statements that could lead into creative writing prompts, Journal entries and/or even drawing/ collage entries. There are several pages that are blank so you can put your entries in it. hope it comes in paperback so that I can use it for that.
This book provides personal questions on each page. It is a wonderful lead to starting a journal. I buy beautiful journals and their pages remain blank. I do not know how to start or what to say.
The book Know Yourself gives a thoughtful question for the reader to ponder, write about or use to begin a conversation with others.
I loved this book. It has great prompt and beautiful pages.
I received an ARC from Workman Publishing Company through NetGalley in exchange for an honest opinion. This in no way affects my opinion or rating of this book.
I love this book. It was so much fun to answer the 164 question. I laughed, I was surpirised and I learned more about myself. What fun I had. I would highly recommend this book.
Very great self help, self discovery book. The questions are silly, fun and serious. It’s a great book.
Know yourself is exactly what the title is about: getting to know yourself.
This book is colored throughout with vibrant pages and beautiful pattern.
You'll find one question per page that you can ponder over. This would also work as sort of party game to get to know someone else.
A beautiful book throughout!
Some answers will surely surprise you.
Thank you Netgalley for providing me with an eARC. All opinions expressed are entirely my own.
I love these kinds of books! Know Yourself is a quirky, colourful little book, with a different question on each page. The questions are sometimes thought-provoking, sometimes fun and silly, and they all help you get to know yourself a bit better. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys a bit of self-reflection.
