This book initially reminded me a bit of These Shallow Graves by Jennifer Donnelly. While they are different, if you liked These Shallow Graves I would definitely recommend this book to you.

Good overall story. Enjoyed seeing this period of history through the eyes of a different minority. Story was good, strong female characters. I felt that some of the situations in the book may have been a little too unbelievable, too pat.
