Corporate litigator Mia Shaw suffers the shock of her life when she finds her colleague and friend brutally murdered. Grief-stricken and furious, Mia vows that she will do anything to seek justice and make the killer pay.
The man accused of the murder is a friend of security tech guru Noah Ramirez, but the evidence just doesn't add up. To save his former ATF partner, Noah needs to convince Mia that the real killer is still on the loose.
Mia soon has more than the criminal prosecution to worry about, however. She is tasked with taking over her friend's last case and learns he was hiding secrets about his client. She thinks she may have stumbled upon corporate espionage that has turned deadly, but she has no idea of the danger involved. Her only ally is Noah, despite their difference of opinion on the homicide case. Can he win Mia over to his side and protect her from ever-growing threats?
Another great book in the Atlanta Justice series by Rachel Dylan. This is the third book in the series. It can be read without reading the first two books. They were good books also. So you should read them.
Mia's faith is tested to the limits when she finds her friend Chase murdered. Then there are the attempts on her life. Not once, but several times. Noah is trying to prove the innocence of the person she believes is responsible for Chase's murder. As the evidence mounts, it looks like Noah might be right. But then who is guilty? You need to read it and find out all the plots and subplots. I recommend this book to all who like a great mystery.
I was given this book by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated in any way.
BREACH OF TRUST by RACHEL DYLAN is a fast paced legal thriller, the third in the Atlanta Justice series. It can be read as a stand alone, although I suggest you read them all as they are really great.
In this book we follow Mia Shaw, a close friend of Sophie and Kate, all three of them lawyers, and Noah Ramirez, who founded a private investigation company and works with Landon and Cooper.
When Mia discovers the body of her close friend Chase Jackson she wants nothing less than the death penalty for David McDonald, the chief suspect. Noah is convinced that David has been set up and is determined to prove his innocence and find the real killer.
This sets the scene for a very exciting read and I can guarantee that you will not be able to put it down.
There is also good Christian content and a touching romance. I particularly like the emphasis on friendship that runs throughout. I can highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys this genre.
I was given a free copy of the book by NetGalley from Bethany House Publishers. The opinions in this review are completely my own.
Breach of Trust by Rachel Dylan – Filled with Suspense, Mystery, Intrigue and Romance
If you like mysteries filled with intrigue and a little romance and be sure to read Rachel Dylan’s newest book Breach of Trust (to be released on February 5, 2019). This is the third book in Atlanta Justice series and the characters in the first two books continue on in this current book.
Mia Shaw is a hardworking corporate attorney. Her life is turned upside down when she discovers her friend and colleague, Chase Jackson, brutally murdered and she won’t stop until the guilty party is brought to justice. Mia is assigned to the legal case Chase had been working on. As she starts digging into the evidence, it appears corporate espionage may have occurred. Mia’s going to need some help from a cyber security expert, but working with Noah Ramirez may be problematic. Especially since he’s working to help clear his friend, David, who happens to be the prime suspect in Chase’s murder.
Wow…Breach of Trust is action packed from the get go. When you open the pages be ready to hit ground running. It’s filled with suspense and intrigue that will keep you guessing until the end. I found this book, very satisfying. The characters were very likable, especially Mia’s friends Kate and Sophie, as well as Noah and his friends Cooper and Landon. They are nice, decent people who care about each other and are committed to their friendships with one another. I especially appreciated how the Christian faith was woven into the character’s lives and how they grew. Rachel’s legal experience, knowledge and research all work to make Breach of Trust an interesting story.
If you like suspense, romance and legal whodunnits…be sure to read Rachel Dylan’s newest book Breach of Trust, I highly recommend it. Though this is the third book in the Atlanta Justice series, it works well as a stand-alone book. I want to forewarn you, once you read one of Rachel’s books, you are going to want to read the rest of her books.
I would like to thank NetGalley and Bethany House Publishers for the opportunity to read Breach of Trust by Rachel Dylan in exchange for an honest review. I was under no obligation to give a favorable review.
Oh my gosh Rachel does a great job. This is the third book in the Atlanta justice series. Thrills galore. Suspenseful set up. Her characters come to life and reel you in. I didn’t want to put the book down till I was on the last page. Definitely a good book !!!
Breach of Trust by Rachel Dylan is a superbly suspenseful Christian fiction work filled with mystery, crime, the legal realm, criminal justice, and faith. This is the third book in Ms. Dylan’s Atlanta Justice Series, which focuses on the lives of a group of friends, who are corporate litigators, attorneys, and prosecutors. Each story is unique in the main character’s role and perspective on the legal system as well as the variety of law enforcement agencies that interact with and play a large role in the justice system. Ms. Dylan’s Atlanta Justice Series deftly weaves a heart-pounding suspenseful tale with relatable characters who must deal with crimes and personal loss, all while deeply intertwined in the legal system. Although I have greatly enjoyed these works, I have, sadly, not yet read the first book of the series (although I can’t wait to). The second book in Atlanta Justice, Lone Witness, was another of my favorite recent finds. I am always impressed to find books like Ms. Dylan’s which gracefully introduce a topic or world of knowledge to readers in a way that makes their lack knowledge on the subject not intimidating in the least. I appreciated how Ms. Dylan explained many aspects of the justice system, sentencing, jury selection, and many other things making the storyline dry and full of straightforward definitions and facts.
Mia Shaw gets the shock of her life when she discovers her friend and colleague murdered. Not only grief-stricken and shocked by her friend’s gruesome death, but Mia’s profession of corporate litigator also fuels her furious drive for justice for her friend’s killer. However, things become complicated when she discovers that the only suspect in her colleague’s murder is a good friend of Noah Ramirez, the security technician in her friends’ husbands’ security business. Noah is convinced of his friend’s innocence and sees the evidence as not adding up. He must convince Mia that friend is innocent before an innocent man is put away for a crime he didn’t commit. Mia not only has to deal with her friend’s death, the criminal investigation into his murder, but also is tasked with her late friend’s case. Mia thinks she may have stumbled into something big–corporate espionage. Was her colleague part of it? Or was he the one who discovered it? What exactly is going on here? Is Noah’s friend innocent? Noah and Mia quickly discover that they are in great danger by being thrown into the murder investigation and corporate espionage case. See what happens in the end by reading this excellent book!
Yet again, Ms. Dylan’s intricately weaved plot and characters excelled my expectations with this book! For readers like me who are not familiar with the justice system and its jargon, Ms. Dylan explained the situation so clearly and in a captivating way. Ms. Dylan approached every situation in this book with down-to-earth details, yet easily understood manner, using the legal proceedings to heighten the already great plot. I greatly enjoyed Ms. Dylan’s writing and her deft balance of suspense, character history, romance, loss, grief, questioning, and faith. Very well done!
This is the third installment of Dylan’s “Atlanta Justice” series, but it can be read as a standalone.
After the murder of her friend and fellow corporate attorney, Mia finds herself representing a tech firm in a lawsuit. She soon learns that things are more than they initially appeared with the case.
Noah owns a PI firm and is determined to prove that his friend is not guilty of murder. However, he finds himself tasked with keeping Mia alive, as well.
This legal suspense has just a bit of romance, but it’s not the key focus. There is ample tension and action to keep the reader actively engaged. Readers who have followed the series will recognize some characters. I found that I connected a bit more with characters in earlier books, but I still found this to be very enjoyable. It’s evident that this book was well-researched, and the details add to the overall realism of the story.
Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy from the publisher, but I wasn’t required to leave a positive review.
This is the third book in the Atlanta Justice Series. Mia is a corporate attorney who is representing a tech firm in a lawsuit. The situation soon becomes much bigger than she bargained for when espionage and murder become part of the mix. A friend of a friend, Noah, who owns a PI firm is hired to help Mia sort things out. Of course we know Mia and Noah from the previous two stories but they become the focus of this one. There is so much going on in this book that it takes till the last page to figure out everyone’s true character and what exactly transpired. This book is well thought out and well crafted to give the reader the maximum enjoyment. Starting this series I thought the author was very brave to write stories around corporate attorneys, whose lives must be rather dull, but the attorneys in these books did not end up in dull situations and there was a lot of intrigue involved. I know that anyone who loves justice stories (FBI, attorneys, police officers etc) will love this series and this book in particular. Some authors come up with a weak story by the time they get to the third book of a series but this author has gotten better with each one.
I received this book from Bethany House through NetGalley in exchange for an honest opinion and review. I highly recommend it!
Yet another fabulous legal suspense novel from Rachel Dylan!
Both Mia Shaw and Noah Ramirez were very interesting and compelling characters. While I didn't connect with them quite as much as I did with previous characters in the Atlanta Justice series, I still really enjoyed their story.
The opening scene immediately grabs you and doesn't let go until the end. Filled with tension and action, the suspense doesn't let up - even when you think the story is over. I greatly enjoy all the legal details Dylan includes in this series. Honestly, I've learned more about the justice system from this series than I ever did in high school. Dylan explains how the system works in a way laymen can understand, but without seeming to talk down to her readers. I also enjoyed the romance in Breach of Trust. It plays a very back-seat role in comparison to the rest of the storyline, which I appreciate.
Overall, Breach of Trust was a great end to the Atlanta Justice series, and I greatly enjoyed it! Recommended for lovers of good legal romantic suspense!
Recommended for ages 16+ due to violence and action.
