Isabella would provide the redemption he needed to feel whole again. Pike would break free from the past that continued to torment his soul. Great story and the chemistry between the characters is positively mind blowing.
This was the first novel I have read by this author, but it certainly won't be the last. This novel grabbed me from the very first page to the very last. I loved the chemistry between Pike and Isabella. The novel grabbed me and kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved the dialogue. I can't wait to see what this author has in store next.
A true bad boy falls for the good girl romance. Pike Stevens is filled with rage and anger wanting to avenge his sisters death. He takes the law into his own hands to get the job done. Once he meets Isabella he learns what true forgiveness and acceptance are. She is filled with a light that draws Pike in.
wil her acceptance have the strength to save him from himself?
Where's the editor?
"Your Bella?" No... it's "You're Bella?" One of dozens of mistakes found in the first half of the book.
Holy crap is this book wordy! It has far too much going on. A decent editor should have advised the author to pull some of the side stories out.
What through me from the start is that this is the first book in a series, yet there is so much as that I as the reader don't know. It's not until I came to read my review that I figured out that this must be a spin off series of the Dimarco series. This book contains so much from that series that you lose this story. I get the importance of his sister's death, but what about all the other character's side stories? They weren't necessary.
And speaking of side characters, holy crap there were a ton. Not just the 8 or 9 Dimarco boys, but you have at least 10-12 other characters. Then we have the incredible amount of side stories going on. Not only do we have the odd friendship/flirting relationship between Pike and Bella which in itself is interesting, but we have his car accident (though I'm halfway through and still don't know what really happened) and her attack. We don't need two catalysis to bring the characters together. We have Bella's struggle dealing with grief and taking care of her disabled mother. Then we have her mother starting to date. Then we have...
Get the picture? It's too much. You get caught up in all the side stories and you lose site of the real story which is about Bella and Pike.
DNF 60% of the way through.

I’ve been immersed in Jennifer Hank’s DiMarcos series for weeks. My Redemption is the first in the spin-off, The Elite Securities Series. I was already invested in the many DiMarcos and their women so it was good to see them back in My Redemption. On the other hand, the reader doesn’t need to have read the other books first. There’s enough detail and backstory to start from scratch.
I liked Pike and I’m always a sucker for the tormented man. He’s got a lot of misplaced guilt and battle trauma to deal with. I did get a little tired of Pike’s self-flagellation toward the end but not enough to turn me off the book. He’s a really good guy so I wanted to see him find some happiness. Isabella is sweet and caring and an excellent match for Pike.
Hanks always puts a good dose of suspense as well as the hot love story which makes the books much more exciting for me. There’s plenty action to keep the reader on edge.
I can recommend this book to readers looking for a touching romance with just enough grit.
Spin-off series from Ms. Hanks Dimarco series. Lots of peeps from the first series make appearances and it does get a little confusing for those of us who haven't read that series. Cause we are also meeting all the boys of the Elite Securities force.
"Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the advance copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review."
Loved this book very much. It had just enough sweet, erotic romance and the storyline was great! I highly recommend!
A good read, loved the characters, did feel a bit lost at times as I haven’t read the series that this is a spin off of, but overall, an enjoyable story. Loved the characters and would definitely read more books by this author.

Pike and Bella have a slow burn, long-distance relationship for a year with neither willing to admit they like the other one. Bella and her mom move to New Hope, and lots more sparks fly as they are now in close contact. He has family drama, and she has a little (mostly in her own mind). They finally admit to being in love, and a bad guy comes along trying to mess it up.
Can't wait to read the next one, and maybe one day go back and read the first series.
Such a great book. I read this one pretty quickly because I didn't want to stop reading.
I do highly recommend
Overall, I enjoyed this book. I will say I struggled with the first half before Pike and Bella finally admitted they need each other. The constant "I'm not worthy" story from both characters was tiring. There were several chapters that seemed to repeat themselves. The latter half of the book was much more enjoyable and a better read.
The writing was good. The characters were likable. The ancillary characters were great and added depth to the story. I would read more by this author.
This is my second Jennifer Hanks novel. As with the previous book, Kate, I didn't love the romance, but I did love the Dimarco family and extended "family." Hanks writes great stories about family and how they accept you and are there for you. Sadly, I don't feel the same about the romantic parts.
Bella annoyed me to no end. I had this whole thing written out about how she played the martyr for so long because of her mom being in a wheelchair (she honestly treated her mom more like a child than an adult in the beginning), but it felt too long and wordy. I liked Pike and his back story was great. I almost wish this could have been a story on his evolution. If the romance wouldn't have been present, or if it had taken a back seat, I think I would have enjoyed this more. Pike's story is a sad one to be sure, and there is some suspense involved, but what I loved the most was his family of friends joining in to help him.
I may give Hanks another try down the road, I liked the familial story line that much, but I would love to see the romance develop from more than just lust.
My redemption by Jennifer Hanks. A new to me author that I'll be checking out more books by. A great storyline and characters that pulled me in from the first page. Book one in The Elite Securities series look forward to read more in this series.
I’ve seen many references to the DiMarco series, and have realised that The Elite Securities is a spin-off. That said, while I will probably go back and check out the DiMarco series, I don’t feel that I was missing anything having started my appreciation of Ms Hanks writing with My Redemption.
This is essentially a story of two people with painful pasts and childhoods they would rather forget, endeavouring to find their way back to happiness and survive the reality of life along the way. Pike and Bella’s story is not one of hearts and flowers; it has grit, suspense, angst and emotional depth that will often tear your heart in two.
Ms Hanks has written a well developed story, with believable characters and clever world building, that makes this story an all round fabulous read.
Another great book by Jennifer Hanks!
I really enjoyed reading Pike’s and Bella’s story. They both deserved a happy ending. We meet them both in prior books, but this book told everything about them. Why they are both so closed off on relationships.
I enjoyed 'seeing Brody' come take care of Bella and her mom when Gia heard a commotion while on the phone with Bella. Bella was obviously already considered Gia's family at this point.
This book can be read on its own, but I recommend starting with the book ‘Lucy’. Read this one after book 4 before reading Kate. That's the correct order. If you read Kate first, Pike and Bella will already be a couple and you will miss out on a few things.
