This was such a fun read, an absolute fantastic buffer between my thrillers. The book had me laughing at some parts.
Jane was dumped and her best friend Rachel was getting married, but Jane knew a secret which could destroy her best friend. All the bridesmaid had something to hide. And only Jane knew.
My first book by Author Zara had me laughing loudly at some scenes All the characters had were well portrayed. There was humor but there was a strong core of friendship too.
Overall, a good lighthearted humorous read when the mind just wants to relax and take it easy
A fun read with plenty of misunderstandings and mistakes as a group of girls get together for their friend's wedding. Of course things don't go to plan! Romance with laughter. The best medicine.
This is the perfect book to sit on holiday and read, it’s not taxing, but lighthearted and fun. Some things were predictable, but there were some surprises along the way too. There were a couple of storylines that didn’t appear to conclude. Although a romcom it did cover a pretty serious subject. The characters were believable, a group of good friends. I’m going to look out for more books by Zara Stoneley.
This was a fun read that showed that secrets have a way of coming out, even when you least expect or want them to. Jane was a great main character, funny and sympathetic.
5☆ Perfect Rom Com!
Hilarious Uplifting Must Read!
As soon as i see Zara had written another book I couldn't wait to get my hands on a copy! I wasn't disappointed.... Another Hilarious Rom Com Gem!!
First of all I want to start by saying I absolutely LOVE the Cover I just want to reach in and devour one of those cupcakes.
Who doesn't love a good wedding..... well Jane doesn't.... after being dumped on her Hen Night it's hardly surprising.
So when her best friend Rachel announces she's getting married, Jane has to put her feelings aside for Rachel's sake.
But that's easier said than done, you see Jane knows a secret that could destroy Rachel's marriage before it's even begun.
But what a predicament!
But that's not all the Bridesmaids all have so many secrets and resentments.
So if the secret Jane is harbouring doesn't potentially ruin the wedding then the Bridesmaids might.
This book should be a Film!! It's got all the makings for a fantastic Rom Com.
It's got Drama, Hilarious comedy, Romance, A Wedding, Waring Bridesmaids, scandal, backstabbing, miscommunications, Juicy Secrets, it's incredibly uplifting and makes you feel good!
The Characters are superbly written, they are relatable and compliment each other perfectly.
When I say this book is hilarious.... I truly mean it!. It's Witty, plenty of banter and laugh out loud moments.
Not only is it incredibly funny, it's also warm and has some touching moments.
If your looking for an uplifting, fun and highly entertaining read that will have you laughing out loud, feeling good and wanting more, then look no further. It truly is the PERFECT Rom Com!
I seriously can't recommend this book enough!
Definitely going on my Top Books this year!
Zara Stoneley is one of my favourite authors and I really hope that there will be more from the Bridesmaids!
Thank you to Rachel Random Resources for this copy which I reviewed honestly and voluntarily.
I’m a big Zara Stoneley fan but have to admit that while I love all of her books, Bridesmaids is by far her best book so far! It’s a sassy, hilariously funny must read that’s full of brilliant characters who jumped off the page as they came to life before my eyes.
Jane has been asked to be a bridesmaid at her friend Rachel’s marriage to Michael. But even though Jane isn’t particularly fond of weddings after what happened to her own planned nuptials, she agrees and rises up to the challenge! The other three bridesmaids all have secrets to hide as do their respective partners and Jane seems completely stuck in the middle of it all due to being the only one in the know. Or, at least, she THINKS she knows!! And it’s this premise that brings about a whole lot of trouble and some very funny scenes throughout Bridesmaids!
Once I picked this up I really did struggle to put it down again. After getting used to who was who in the opening few chapters, I watched gobsmacked as the women who were there to support Rachel through the best day of her life continually put the whole day at risk with their escapades! Jane was at the centre of it all and her relationship with her flat mate Freddie was a “will they, won’t they?” dilemma that Ross and Rachel from Friends would have been proud of!
Bridesmaids kept me entertained and chuckling for hours! There were scenes that would work perfectly in a more visual context and if there hadn’t already been a film called Bridesmaids then this book would have made a great adaptation for the big screen! I found the scenes in the wedding dress shop very true to life (having been in quite a few myself recently!!) and all the relationships felt realistic too. But my favourite part of the whole book was those friendships between the women which had the same comforting feel as a pair of your favourite cosy pyjamas! Jane was my favourite bridesmaid and I loved how she got herself into some difficult but hilarious situations as she tried to keep the peace and give her friend the wedding she deserves but that Jane didn’t have herself.
Bridesmaids is bang on trend with an endearing storyline and appealing characters who charmed me throughout as I cheered them all on to their own happy ever afters! I absolutely adored it and can highly recommend it to fans old and new. It’s a funny as hell comedy of errors with a heart so pop on your fascinator and head to the wedding of the year!
Beautifully written story of resilience, friendship and love. This funny, laugh out loud book had me turning pages to see if the smile on my face would last yet another page. When a story surrounds four friends you never know what will happen. Jane, Rachel, Sally, Beth, and Maddie have been friends for a very long time. Some of the girls have stayed close, whiles others have begun to live their lives, but one thing is certain as you read this book. You never know what secrets each hold and what giggles will ensue as you read to find out.
What a wonderful book.. Jane is on her way back into life after being dumped on her hen night by her fiance Andy. Working as the photographer for a blogger Coral, looking forward to a work trip to New York, Jane thinks she is starting to get over whats happened. But is she
She shares a flat with an old school friend called Freddie, when her friend Rachel announces her upcoming nuptuals Jane is not sure if she can cope with a wedding, especially when the usher is her ex fiance and when as Chief Bridesmaid she meets the other bridesmaids she really does wonder about her ability to get through the wedding unscathed.
I really enjoyed this book and I felt you got to know the supporting characters just as much as the lead characters - loved Louis and how he got his name.
Loved this book and read in under two days as I couldn't wait to find out what happened next.
An upcoming wedding sets the scene for five high school friends (some frenemies) to reunite.
Jane has been recently dumped days before her own wedding. But how can she say no when her best friend asks her to be a bridesmaid at what is becoming the biggest wedding of the season?
What ensues is a story of secrets, gossip and misunderstandings. Which makes for a hilariously funny read.
Thank you for the opportunity to review this book however I was not able to "get into" the book. I am sure others will enjoy this.
Bridesmaids is the first book I’ve read by Zara Stoneley I’m ashamed to admit but after reading this it certainly won’t be my last.
Now if you do go and buy a copy which I most certainly think you should, make sure to set aside time to sit and read. Grab a glass of wine, some chocolate and settle down and be prepared to not return to the real world until you’ve finished Bridesmaids. This is what I should have done, instead I decided to read a few chapters before bed and the next thing I knew it was the early hours and I’d devoured the book.
One of the things I found with Bridesmaids is that although I’d never met these characters before it felt like I already knew them when I started the book. Jane is a fab character and it felt like I’d known her my whole life, she narrates the story so well and it makes you feel part of it.
Bridesmaids is a light and funny read, the characters come to life and it was just the tonic I needed after a stressful day. The writing flows beautifully and I just got so absorbed in the story.
I won’t give anything away about the plot but I will say I was really, really hoping for a happy ending. All the characters felt so real that you can’t help wanting the best for them. And Freddie, well what can I say about him? Can he please be cloned? I want a Freddie.
So yes I definitely enjoyed this book, it’s vibrant, fun filled, humorous, uplifting and a joy to read. It’s a story I didn’t want to end and one I won’t forget in a hurry.
Another fabulous story by Zara Stoneley. great story great characters a brilliant easy read. Perfect holiday story
Thank you to NetGalley and Harper Impulse for an electronic Advanced Readers Copy of "Bridesmaids" by Zara Stoneley in exchange for an honest review.
"The funniest laugh out loud rom com of 2019 – the perfect beach read!"
Jane, Rachel, Maddie, Sally, Beth, and the men in their lives have provided a true laugh out loud romantic comedy. This novel could easily be made into a movie! While there are some difficult moments for each of the characters to overcome, they do so in hilarious, and believable ways. There were moments where I found Jane to be annoying or wildly overthinking a situation, but overall, she was a likeable lead character. This story is a perfect beach read, though you may get some looks your way if you're reading it out in public because it is a story that will make you laugh!

I originally was going to give this book a 2 star rating because it was very predictable but I really enjoyed the ending so I bumped it to 3.
Besides being predictable, some of the main characters traits drove me nuts. I felt like she kept agonizing and talking about the same thing over and over again instead of just doing what she had to do. It also drove me crazy when her friends would try to confide in her and she wouldn’t let them finish what they were saying since she assumed she already knew what they were going to say. This could have cleared up so many misconceptions between them in this book!
This book was an easy and enjoyable read for people who enjoy chick lit.
A hilarious story packed with romance, friendship, and loads of drama!
Zara Stoneley has written another entertaining book that will make you laugh. An uplifting story full of likable real characters living realistic relatable lives. I don’t know about you, but the weather starts to get warmer and I start migrating towards a fun romcom with a gorgeous cover, rather than a dark thriller. This book is certainly the perfect spring time read.
Jane is dumped the night of her hen/bachelorette party via text. Her ex fiancé’s reason for the breakup? He just wasn’t feeling it. Really? Ugh first you break up by text and then you have the worst reason ever, I was so annoyed for Jane! What a douche! The good news... Jane is clearly better off. When Jane’s old friend Rachel asks her to be a bridesmaid she’s not quite sure about the timing, but she can’t say no. What follows is a hilarious and drama filled tail. A group of old friends with plenty of secrets and complications are gathered together to help celebrate Rachel‘s big day.
Jane was a great character and I loved the friendship between these girls. It was so true of groups of girlfriends that have a lot of history, you could never really tell who like to, but you knew they would all be there for one another no matter what. There was a lot going on in this book. But I think my favorite relationship in the book was that between Jane and Freddie. Where can I find myself a Freddie? anyone? They all do live happily ever after, and it certainly was a lot of fun watching them get there!
*** thank you Harper Impulse for my copy of this book ***
Rachel is planning her dream wedding, so she asks her best friends from school to be her bridesmaids What secrets are they hiding and will the truth spoil her big day?
The book is not really Rachel's story but rather Jane one of her bridesmaids. Ja e was dumped just before her own wedding and needs to deal with the emotional fallout from that. Can she trust again? Can she find the one?
A nice read ideal for the beach
A little predictable at times but such a fun read! Enjoyed everything about it! Looking forward to reading more by Zara Stoneley.
What do you get when you take a bunch of best friends, a hunky flatmate, a bunch of secrets and an impending wedding? An hilarious romantic comedy that's just a delight to read!
Peacemaker Jane is tasked with the job of keeping Rachel's bridesmaids under control. With a huge amount of past history and tension brewing between them, Jane's task proves more than difficult.
I'm a sucker for a good romantic comedy but what I love even more is when that book is more about the relationships between a bunch of best friends and their ups and downs.
Female friendships are often complicated relationships in existence and this novel portrays them beautifully. Ms Stoneley takes the varied identities often found in a group of friends and brings them to life through each character. I love that each character is beautifully and humanly flawed but leaves you with no choice but to adore them for different reasons.
Then there's Freddie - the hunky flatmate who seems so perfect. Hurt and humiliated by the end of her previous relationship, Jane is suppressing her feelings for the delicious Freddie when it's it's obvious to everyone else that they are perfect together. It's impossible not to spend the whole book rooting for them.
The whole story is told with humour, a hint of sadness and is a strong advocate for friendships in all their imperfect glory. It's such a brilliant read and I highly recommend it.
It's quite the dilemma isn't it? When you are privy to the kind of information that can make or break a relationship. Your best friend is marrying a man who likes to play plug the hole with every female in his vicinity. Then you have to make a choice, do you tell your friend or keep your mouth shut and let them discover the truth for themselves?
It's even harder when people think you are bitter and scarred from your own failed relationships, hence more likely to want to see other relationships fail. That's not actually true when it comes to Jane, she just wants her friend Rachel to be with a man she can trust, but nobody is going to believe she doesn't have an ulterior motive. So, mouth zipped, soldier on, and pretend as if everything is hunky-dory.
Jane finds herself in the midst of what appears to be some sort of hidden camera episode of Cluedo for romance, backstabbing, betrayal and love, instead she is a bridesmaid and part of a bridal party for her best friend. Everyone has a secret to hide or a secret to tell, and for some reason everyone keeps revealing them all to Jane. Which is fine, except she can't keep them all straight in her head, so it leads to a romcomesque tragedy of errors and misconceptions.
I think everyone will get Jane, however towards the end I felt as if she needed to take a step back and ask herself why she feels the need to tell Rachel. To save her friend from certain misery? It's not the dark ages, there are other fish in the sea.The truth is, the messenger always gets blamed, shot, drawn and quartered. It's easier to do that than to confront the person doing the actual harm.
I can see why Stoneley is so popular, she writes with a fresh voice, stories full of drama and adds a layer of snarky humour to the mix. She reminds me of Sarah Morgan with the occasional Ruby Wax moment thrown in for good measure. It's a romcom written with the tartness of champagne bubbles and the wit of modern woman.
This was my first book by the author so I had no idea what to expect, which is always exciting, and I was blown away by it! Funny and crazy, hilarious and downright a pleasure to read from start to finish. Which did not take more than a few hours, in one sitting! Intriguing characters with a storyline that was fun to read and so many secrets to keep track of! No wonder poor Jane can't keep up! It's a mess! And sweet Freddie just has your heart pitter patterning from his first introduction. Loved all the characters and their dynamics and interactions and overall this read was a real good time, a great way to pass an afternoon and very well written. Well done to the author, I would be remiss not to give it five glowing stars!
