Wow! What a fun, flirty and fantastic introduction to a new series!

This is the story of Logan and Cassie, and what a sweet story it was.

Now I will admit, at first I felt a little overwhelmed by the introduction to all the secondary characters. I am sure they will play their own parts in their own stories later, but as this story continues on, it became less overwhelming and more just a thorough introduction to all the characters.

I loved the setting for this story, between Scotland, England and Chicago. Ms. Johnson was able to bring us to each and every setting and country. Holding the readers hand and saying "Come on, I have so much to show you!".

The chemistry between Cassie and Logan was fabulous! I liked that Cassie took charge in what she wanted and had no apologies for it! Well done!

I also loved the element of smart people read romance, it was just kind of pat on the back us romance readers need sometime! We can be smart, educated, classy people that happen to love a hot Scot in kilt or any romance for that matter!

The bit of angst was perfectly played and not over done, it was just the right amount to keep me turning the pages! The flow between each main characters POV was smooth and easy transition to pick up on throughout the pages!

I cannot wait to read the next story in this series! Well done Ms. Johnson, you have a new fan in me!

Seriously enjoyable romance with a lovely balance of sweet, sexy, angsty and funny.
Cassie and Logan should be nothing more than a holiday fling but destiny doesn't seem to care.
What follows is a journey to love for the pair.
I really enjoyed this story. I felt that there wasn't any loose ends or unresolved storytelling.
Cassie is the sortof person I'd like to be friendswith. Logan is swoony and caring.
This is a new author for me and I'm looking forward to reading more of her work.

Finding love with a man on vacation. One who happens to have a delicious accent and hot bod to go with his great personality, where can i get a vacation like that?! This book was sweet and romantic and funny as well, i feel a great series can be starting with this book. I love those one night stands that grow into a relationship and then you can see the characters grow and develop as well as their love for each other. Well worth a read and i will be looking out for more from this series

Cassie is with her four best friends traveling over Europe. Cassie is very much into her job at a local TV station in Chicago, so she has decided she is going to relax and have fun on vacation. She wants to have a fling with a European hottie while she is on vacation. It is out of character for her, but I was glad to see her want to let her hair down. While they are in a castle in Scotland, Cassie accidentally walks into a bedroom when she hears noises. The bookcase turns around and their on the floor is a hottie Scot in his Kilt. She has another irrational moment and kisses him. Wow, what a kiss it had to have been! Unfortunately this is Logan Reid who has a show on the Internet called Shenanigans that has brought lesser people to tears. She is upset and will not sign the release to put that segment on the Internet. As the women go to England, Logan follows them with his friend Theo to try and get her to sign. It is so crazy because when the two are together, the Air sizzles around them with sexual energy. Needless to say, the path to true love is not smooth. Cassie feels betrayed by Logan, signs the form, and leaves for Chicago without saying goodbye. Logan realizes that the company who wants him in the states to do a show on TV is the same one Cassie works for. Luckily they want Logan in Chicago to do a series. I was glad to see that Cassie and Logan were going to get another chance. There are still misunderstandings, ghosts from the past, and a vindictive co worker that cause all kinds of trouble. I loved Logan’s accent and kept hearing it in my head while I was reading the book. I strongly encourage you to read the book. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book.

I was sold when I saw the title of the book! This was a new-to-me author and I'll definitely be reading anything she releases from now on. The writing was clever and witty, with characters that you fall madly in love with. A charming read that will have you viewing kilts in a whole new light!

This was a really enjoyable, passionate read.

"Logan wasn't an appetizer - he was dessert - sweet and sinful and totally bad for her."

Cassie Crow is on the tail end of a European trip with her best girlfriends. She's collected souvenir charms from every place she's visited. However, there's one souvenir that she hasn't managed to collect yet - a hot, sexy fling. But, that's all about to change when she bumps into a gorgeous, kilted Scotsman. Unfortunately, she wants no part of the reason she bumps into him, as she's determined to prove herself as a serious reporter, and this Scottish prankster would put her ambitions at risk.

"He wanted every day Cassie could give him - every day he could give her. Every morning and every night, every kiss, every fight, every laugh, and every tear - he wanted it all."

Logan Reid is desperate to make it big. His pranks are renowned but he's after the golden egg. When Cassie falls into his trap and the resulting edit is a cracker, he's got his work cut out for him in trying to persuade her to sign the release waiver. When he chases after her to London, he's realising that there's more at stake than his stardom. Unfortunately, a serious commitment is not on the cards for him.

This was a fun, sexually-charged story with a touch of angst in the background, as Cassie and Logan come to terms with their feelings about life, love and their ambitions. I loved the dynamics between Cassie and her friends, as well as between Logan and his friend, Theo. I loved Cassie's strength and I loved that she totally knew her own worth. Logan is kinda lost and working towards success for not quite the right reasons. However, I enjoyed his epiphany when he realises just how much Cassie means to him

Getting hot with the Scot is the first book in these series. I truly enjoyed read this contemporary love story. Logan and Cassie I thought had great chemistry. This was a moving story about these two characters. It was well written and a page turner. It had a good storyline.
Thank you NetGalley and St.Mark's Press for the Arc copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are of my own.

Cassie and Logan are both likeable characters, and they meet in a unique way. That said, the book started out a bit slow for me, and there were other parts where I felt the story was dragging a bit. Cassie meets Logan during her extended European girls trip, and he becomes her vacation fling, or so she thinks. I can't say much more because I don't want to spoil anything. The book is told in alternating third person, which I think added a bit to the issue I had with pacing. This book wasn't a favorite, but I am interested enough to read the next book in the series.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Meet Cassie, a career woman bent on having a fling on her European vacation with her girlfriends. What’s wrong with a little fun right? What Cassie wasn’t expecting was running into a very Hot Scot! Meet Logan, a man who has fun each and every day. The more fun he has, the more he can bury his painful past. He is always out for a good time, not a long time…until……..he meets Cassie! Can they walk away from each other the next morning? Or will they find what they both have been truly longing for?
This story has it all, friendship, humor, heartbreak and romance all wrapped beautifully in this first book of a new series by Melonie Johnson. The characters are very well written, you get a glimpse into each of the supporting characters, just enough to make you want to know how their stories end as well. I personally can’t wait for the next book in the series, both to continue the adventures of the ladies, but also to catch up with Cassie and Logan.
Thank you to St. Martin’s Press and NetGalley for providing me with an advanced copy of the book to review.

A fun, frothy rom-com that delivers what readers come to rom-coms for. It's funny, sexy, fast-paced, and does a great job with female friendships. Salute to Johnson for an unexpected twist at the beginning, riffing off the now pretty worn-out time-travel to hunky Scots territory--though she took a risk of making the hero out to be a first class jerk.

But Johnson wins the reader over before Logan wins Cassie's forgiveness. (I did think her about-face came awfully fast, but . . . this is rom-com land, where emotional turmoil is kept within romantic boundaries.)

Altogether a fun read.

Book Blurb: IT’S TIME TO FLIRT WITH A MAN IN A KILT

Cassie Crow, a pop-culture reporter for a TV talk show, is focused on becoming a “serious” journalist. But when she stumbles into a kilted Highlander with a killer accent, Cassie decides that taking one night off from work and spending it with a sexy Scot couldn’t hurt. . .

Logan Reid has built a career on his charm, hosting a series of off-the-wall hijinks on the Web. But when the Scottish prankster meets the all-American, equal parts intelligent and irresistible Cassie, Logan realizes that one night of fun won’t be enough. Could it be that this career-focused, commitment-phobic couple is finally ready to take a chance at true and lasting love?

Review:

Cassie is traveling with her best friends to Europe and she has a secret plan: Have a fling while she's abroad. She meets Logan, a famous prankster when his sister sets her up for one of his antics. Sparks definitely fly, but as you can imagine there are plenty of complications along the way.

This is an outstanding debut by Melonie Johnson. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I cannot wait to read more from this author. I need to know more about the lives of all these fabulous characters! Ms. Johnson has shown her prowess in creating both primary and secondary characters that are charming and relatable. And, as I shared on my favorite quotes, I love that Cassie is very adamant about educating her boss (and the public) about the importance of reading, regardless of genre. This happens to be a cause I am also passionate about. Also, #SmartWomenReadRomace #Facts

Logan is pure Scottish fire wrapped around lovable goofiness and who can resist that combination?! Not me, that's for sure! Watching these two navigate the road to love was a great ride. A resounding five out of five for me.

First time in reading this author with it being such a delight to read. She had me hooked right from the start with her characters helping with that feat. Cassie and Logan are from two different places but when they come together that is when they begin to grow right before you eyes lol. Your are sucked into this relationship with their story giving you much enjoyment. Relationships are interesting to read with people being a puzzle at times that you like seeing this one through.

Getting Hot with the Scot was such a charming love story. I love that it had as much to do with friendship as it did with the unfolding love story between Logan and Cassie.

Logan comes off as an arrogant (albeit, charming) jerk in the beginning when he first meets Cassie. I sort of wish this would have deterred Cassie's attraction to him a little longer (because that's my trope, y'all), but their attraction was written well and I could see why she wouldn't want to wait.

I thought it was interesting that the author decided to take the idea of this romance a bit further than I believe other authors would have taken it. **spoiler** This romance turns from a vacation fling romance to a serious, commitment-heavy, and emotional story. This is by far - not bad at all. The author does it very well - I was just surprised to find so much emotion in a story that started as a summer vacation fling.

Cassie's friends are hilarious and sweet, and I love how Bonnie was her ultimate wing-woman. They also set up Bonnie's story (the upcoming book) very well and I cannot wait to review it! (yes, I already read it haha)

Sexy fun romance! This was my first book by this author and I immediately ordered the next in the series. It wasn't until then that I realized this book was her first! This is a great read, especially if you love the Scots and their sexy accents! Highly recommend! Can't wait to read more from this fantastic new author!

The publisher sent me the first and third books in this rom-com series after I read/reviewed the second one (Smitten by the Brit). I’ve decided (and not for the first time) that I’m just not a huge fan of most contemporary love stories. While I liked the second book better, I’m just not much into these shallow stories. Don’t get me wrong, the writing is perfectly fine. I just want to be more invested in and care more about the characters and plot line.

Cassie and Logan fall into insta lust, and their relationship (what there is of it) develops over a brisk bit of time. Personally I found them both fairly self-centered and a bit immature-seeming for their ages (26, 27).

Thanks to #StMartins and #NetGalley for the ARC. The opinions are strictly my own.

This is book 1 in the Sometimes in Love series. This is the first book that I have read by this author and after having read this book, I don't think it will be the last! This first book introduces us to Cassie Crow and Logan Reid. Cassie and her friends are on vacation and trying to check things off their bucket lists. And one of Cassie's is to have a hot fling while on vacation. And when she meet's Logan, she thinks she has finally found the one. Logan has an internet show that has caught the attention of a network. He is trying to make his dream a reality when he meet's Cassie. And now that they have met and start to have feelings for each other, they need to figure out how to make not only their dreams a reality but to change what those dreams may involve.

This book definitely made me laugh! Cassie and her friends are those type of women that you would love to have as your own friends. I loved the side characters almost as much as I loved the main characters. Logan is definitely what you expect a hot Scot to be! He can be sweet but he definitely brings the fire too. Cassie seems like this career driven woman at the beginning but when you realize that she is just trying to get to her dreams while still living her life, you can't help but like her. I really liked it, just some of the wording threw me off because I am not Scottish and don't know the slang. But on a whole I thoroughly enjoyed it and I definitely will be reading the next in the series!

I loved this book. It also helps that Logan is my dream man. Some day I will meet him. After reading this book, I realize I have a thing for redheads. Cassie is on vacation looking for a fling. She ends up finding more than that. Logan is a playboy who doesn't want to get hurt. Together they are combustible. It was fun to travel with Cassie and the girls in Scotland and England then be back at there home in Chicago. If you want a fun story with some heat then pick this one up.

Reading this will make you want to pack up and take off on an adventure with your friends. And also hope you meet a hot Scott along the easy. This was fun, flirty and light. A great start for what looks like will be a great series.

Cassie Crow wants to move up from pop culture reporter to one that covers serious causes, and never had time for serious relationships. On a European vacation with friends, she gets caught up in a prank set up by Logan Reid, who is known for his web series. He wants to gain credibility and move to TV, and Cassie feels he's willing to use her to get there. Of course, the two are physically attracted to each other but don't see an actual relationship forming.

The travels through Europe are fun to read about, and I love reading how close Cassie and her friends are. Logan has his own friends and family that he is close to, though his difficulty with relationships and dealing with people, in general, is due to grief. Of course, the sex between Cassie and Logan is hot and they get along great when not second-guessing each other. In a story like this, the question isn't if they'll get together, but when. They often get in their own way, which is frustrating at times. Some of the other characters, such as Cassie's rival at work, are caricatures. Others, like Logan's sister Janet, don't show up much but still feel fully fledged characters with stories in their own right.

Overall, this is a cute contemporary romance, fluffy in spots and with just a hint of serious emotion.
