I liked, Getting hot with the Scot. I found it funny, well written and also with the right bit of heat between the 2 main characters. Gotta love a man in a kilt!

I was excited to be introduced to a new author's writing. My first impression of the title was that this might be a Historical Romance. Then I read the blurb and saw the cover and knew that this story would be my cup of tea.
Getting Hot with the Scot was fully devour-able. I could not stop loving Cassie and Logan. Their story was a breath of fresh air. The chemistry was perfection. It had me begging and begging for more. The hot romance almost over circuited my Kindle ;) Just sayin'.
The drama will have you holding on and wishing hard that Cassie could get over Logan's stupidity. At the same time I was angry with our hero. There is a lot of emotion that the author invested that you will feel outpouring from her words. Getting Hot with the Scot surpassed my expectations!

Immediately fell in love with Logan and Cassie. Their relationship starts out with a prank but quickly turns into more. Logan can’t help but screw it up. Despite his past and his views on marriage, he finds he’s not quite ready to let Cassie go. You’ll definitely want to get hot with a Scot! I can’t wait for more!!! 5 stars!

Cassie and Logan were a fun pair to watch. The beginning is a bit misleading but stick with it and enjoy.

This book was just what I needed and wanted to read. I have been in a reading slump for close to a month and I was able to become engaged and read this novel quickly, it was hard to put down! I really enjoyed the characters and their growth and development through the story. The romance was cute but I also enjoyed the different friendship groups! There were some important topics discussed including increasing literacy skills for children, grief and the ability to open your heart to someone. I also loved the discussion of not shaming people for what they read!! The steamy parts in this novel were definitely more descriptive than what I am use to reading but I liked the development of the relationship. This was the first novel that I’ve read from Johnson but I am excited to read more!
Review also posted to Instagram and Goodreads but was not able to include links when submitting review

Can it really get any better than a witty Scottish hottie?! *wink-wink* Not only do you have kilts, but I could practically hear his panty-melting accent. *swoon*
Getting Hot with the Scot was full of laughter and overall fun while it also had some scorching romance scenes. This was my first Melonie Johnson book and I was not disappointed. I really enjoyed the character development on both sides, but Logan's story was was priceless with his prankster ways. I loved how they complimented each other and helped strengthen one another to help improve their relationship.
I simply can't wait for Theo and Bonnie's story!

Getting Hot With the Scot is Melonie Johnson’s debut novel with two more to follow this year. A group of young women are on a lifetime trip to Europe, one they had agreed upon when they were college students together. They are now on the last legs of the trip traveling in Scotland, when Cassie Crow, a young journalist from Chicago, becomes separated from the group during a castle tour. She cannot find her friends, but she does discover a highlander, kilt and all, that plays out similar to a scene from one of her favorite romance novels. Taken aback, Cassie appears to momentarily believe the ruse, recovering quickly when the crew of prankster internet show Shenanigans appears.
Cassie refuses to sign a release. She’s on the verge of becoming a serious journalist rather than a morning show social editor. When she returns from her trip, Cassie has a meeting set up with her boss to pitch a new concept with hard hitting local problems being explored. She cannot risk becoming a silly internet sensation with so much at stake.
Meanwhile, Logan Reid and his sister, Janet, also have much at stake. They must increase their female viewership to be considered for a new series which could launch their careers. The video of Cassie’s encounter with Logan, especially after the special editing, might just do it. But Cassie initially refuses to sign a release, which brings Logan and his best friend, Theo Wharton, following Cassie and her friends to London.
The chemistry between Cassie and Logan is unmistakable. The mix between their attraction and distrust dances a swirling story that will entice and entertain the reader. As they waltz through this delightful tale, Cassie and Logan seek their balance, often off kilter, as they find their way to their careers and their futures.
This was an interesting story and I am interested to read the coming books in the series. I did enjoy this book and I do recommend it.

Getting Hot with the Scot is a fun read that grabbed my attention from the first chapter! Hilarious moments, fun banter, a great group of girlfriends and one hot scot made this story such an amazing read! Cassie and Logan had sparks from the first moment they met and the wild attraction carried throughout the book and took me on a grand romantic adventure! I truly enjoyed it and recommend this book!

I really liked it! It was sweet, funny and sexy. The characters were great and well written! I couldn't have asked for a more enjoyable read. I love that it's set in Scotland and that the heroine hooks up with a sexy Scotsman. It wasn't super on the drama and angst, just a great romantic comedy.

Sweet but fun and sexy! Love the characters!! I can hear the Scottish accent and love it!! I know this is only the first of many books in the series and I am so glad!! I can't wait to see the other girls get their man.

Awww loved Logan and Cassie’s chemistry. The storyline was perfect and the humor to go along with their friends was hysterical. The writing kept me captivated and had me reading this book in one sitting.

I'm scratching my head, wondering why so many readers enjoy this book. I was put off almost immediately by the cliched writing and the obsessive descriptions of hair. Here are examples from Chapter One: "tumble of red curls," "straw-berry blond ponytail," "auburn curls bouncing" -- and the fun just continues in Chapter Two: "The girl shook her head and tossed her hair, a lovely dark brown almost the same shade as the chestnuts his family roasted at Hogmanay" or [she] "tossed her dark, delicious mane over a sassy shoulder."
By the time I had finished Chapter Three, I decided that this was a rare DNF for me.

I received an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This is the first book that I have read by this author and I can tell you that it won’t be the last. I originally requested her second book (Smitten by the Brit) from NetGalley because it looked fun and exciting. A few days later I noticed this book (Getting Hot with the Scot) and loved the title. But wait... there’s more!!! Once Upon a Bad Boy is also part of the series, so of course I requested that as well. I realized they were by the same author and decided to read them in order.
I really liked this book - it was funny, hot & steamy, and overall enjoyable. Definitely should be on your TBR list this summer! The author introduces the 5 American girls on a European trip of a lifetime - you immediately fall in love with the girls and can’t wait to see what they are up to in their own books.

A wild fling in Scotlandnturned into a rollercoaster of a ride!
Cassie Crow is a tv journalist who is trying to get her big break into the morning tv segment. She’s tired of doing fluff pieces and wants to be taken seriously. Before she has her big meeting to pitch her idea with her boss, she visits Europe with her friends with a single goal in mind, to have a hot fling with a foreigner. She gets her wish when she comes across a honest to god kilt-wearing Scot in a castle. Deciding to go with instinct she kisses him passionately. Only to come to find that while he is a Scot, he’s also Logan Reid, the notorious prankster and she just fell for one of his.
Logan has been playing pranks on unsuspecting people for his show for a while, but kissing Cassie was the first time he broke character. He truly enjoyed kissing her. But he needs the video of the prank to boost his ratings with the female population and help land his show in a prime time slot with a studio in Chicago. When Cassie refuses to sign the release so he can use the video, he decides to try peruse her personally, and if he can get her to eventually sign, even better. After enjoying to their time in Scotland, the girls move on in their trip, leaving Logan behind. That being said, he follows her to London and then later Chicago, all the while, the contract and video continue to cause angst in their relationship.
I had a hard time getting into this book. At many points I checked my progress and was surprised to see that I was much further behind than I thought I should be. I didn’t like Logan, I though he was selfish and closed off, not willing to give anything of himself below the surface. I also got tired of the yo-yo relationship. I’m all for a little angst, but between London and then Chicago, I was kind of done with them both.
That being said, I already have the ARCs for the next two and am looking forward to seeing Ariel get her a price Eric 😉.
I received this arc from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

Cassie and her friends are on a once in a lifetime trip touring Europe. Her one goal for the trip is to have a one night fling with a sexy stranger abroad. When she finds Logan, dressed in a kilt with a thick Scottish accent she can't resist. She doesn't realize he is filming a hoax for his up and coming series on Youtube hoping to be picked up for a television series. But will one night of fun be enough? This is a fun steamy contemporary read.

A Highlander in a Kilt
Cassie and her friends take the trip of a lifetime. While abroad, Cassie plans to have a fling and packs accordingly.
Logan has to get his show’s ratings up with the ladies. He arranges to meet an unwitting lady. Cassie is looking for the loo. Who ends up surprising whom?

I had been picking up and putting down so many books when I started this one. I just keep feeling meh. This one stuck. This book starts out with the heroine and her friends on vacation. She meets the hero there. Her plan was to have a hot, sexy one night stand with him. What if one night isn’t enough? I enjoyed this book for the most part. This book started a foundation for books to come. I’m definitely intrigued. I plan to read the next book.
I voluntarily read an early copy.

Light and fluffy and quite adorable!
Usually the setup for a romance bordering on chic-lit makes me groan as it tends to rely on the characters being willfully stupid, dense or both. To my utter delight, the characters in this book were lovely and sexy and acted like normal people. I realized halfway through that this was the start to a series and now I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series with bated breath!

What can I say: I have a weak spot for men in a kilt. Especially if they call you lass and have an accent. So, what could go wrong with Getting Hot with the Scot? Well... honestly? I don't know. But although it was a cute read, it was also a bit boring. I have read three books in between the start and finish of this one. Because I just couldn't keep my attention on Cassie or Logan.
Cassie is on a holiday with her friends. She came from California to Scotland to have fun and forget about her worries at the other end of the ocean. She wants to be a serious reporter and not covering the gossip in the pop world. When she accidentally gets pranked by Logan for his internethit: Sheenanigans, Logan wants her to sign a waiver, so he can upload his prank to the internet. But since Cassie is afraid to jinx her career she refuses.
However, Logan is determined to get the autograph. So with the help of his best friend Theo, he 'accidentally' meets the girls the next day on their boat tour. Cassie and Logan discover they have a lot in common and the flirting and banter is very funny. However... it just drags on and on... So... three books further, I decided to give it another go. Fortunately in the last part of the book the pace picks up. We meet Logan's mother and sister in Scotland and we get an insight into why Logan has started his prankster movies. So yeah, in all it is a nice read. And maybe I'll even try the next part in the series: Smitten by the Brit, to see how Theo will fare with Bonnie. Hopefully the pace has been picked up there. Three out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

This was a light, fluffy beach read. Kinda every girl's fantasy when she goes on vacation: meet a hot, accented, talented guy. There was an atmosphere I could feel when the different cities the friend group visited were described. Though Logan and Cassie bounced off each other well, I never felt like I got a true feel for their actual personalities beyond him being a jokester & her being a reader/workaholic. The first and second parts of the book have distinctly different feels to them. There seemed to be a bit too much buildup towards future books, but overall, I liked the writing style, sense of place, and am interested in the next installment.
