I received an advanced reader’s copy of this book.

I liked how Logan and Cassie meet in this story. The setting of the story was also fun. Logan seems a bit immature at the beginning in the way that he handles various situations. Eventually, we see a different side to Logan which adds depth to his character. Both characters are likable and the story is enjoyable.

This was really funny cute lightly passionate tale about to loveable characters. I was thoroughly entertained.

This was a very cute and funny story. I really liked it. The only thing I didn’t like is that the character coms off really self involved. I want them to end up together but there were times I felt he was better off moving on. So many opportunities to be an adult instead of a pouting toddler. That’s what her actions seemed like to me. The overall story is cute.

I didn't mind this book but the pacing felt a bit off to me and Cassie forgave too easily maybe? It was strange. Cute plot and setting overall.

Cassie is a pop culture reporter for a Cable TV Channel in Chicago who decides to take a trip to Europe with her best friends. While in Scotland, she encounters a gorgeous Scot in a kilt and, kisses him, while wondering if he's a ghost or, if this is a set-up.
Logan is a Scot who sets up elaborate pranks for the Internet Channel he and his sister have set up. When he meets Cassie, he falls instantly in lust and, follows her throughout the rest of their trip and, to Chicago.
This is one of the CUTEST romances I have read in quite a while.!!
Both Cassie and Logan are extremely hot for each other but, Logan is not the guy who ever wants to marry. Cassie, on the other hand, believes in Happily Ever After and, becomes very frustrated with this man who she can't read.
What's going to happen to this fling/romance?

Cassie Crow and her closest friends are traveling Europe for the summer and while they have seen all the major attractions they had on their check off list there is still one attraction Cassie hasn't managed to complete. While touring a castle and doing the liquor tasting at the beginning of the tour Cassie gets a little tipsy. She finds herself in an abandoned part of the castle and low and behold a kilted Highlander appears and she is swept away in the moment. This is exactly what she wanted, a hot fling with a hot man.

Logan Reid is so full of himself and this is perfect. This setup will surely get him his spot on television with his prank show. That is until the beauty recognizes him and all pranks are off and the joke is on Logan. But he finds maybe what he thought he needed and wanted most of all isn't what he thinks it is.

This book is funny and hot and all the characters are likeable and the story is believable. I liked it and it is definitely worth reading.

I received an early copy to read and review and give my honest opinion. A strong 4 stars.

Getting Hot with the Scot follows Cassie and Logan fucking Reid. Cassie and her girlfriends are on the trip of a lifetime and traveling through Europe when Cassie meets a time traveling Highlander. Just kidding!

Logan is known for his pranks and Cassie just walked straight into Logan’s most recent one. They share a sexy kiss and then realty comes crashing down on Cassie and she realizes what is really going on. She puts her foot down and will not sign the release form so he can legally post the video online, but that is not the answer Logan wants to hear, so he takes it into his own hands to try to sway her. Soon they both realize that they can’t get enough of each other, but with serious relationship issues, can Logan actually commit?

I loved Cassie’s character because she knew exactly what she wanted and went for it. She doesn’t put up with Logan’s crap. Despite Logan being a jokester, he wants to move on and actually be taken seriously. He’s very romantic with Cassie without even trying (or trying and failing when he tries to bake for her – lol).

The story is well written and concise; Melonie Johnson knows how to tell a story. It is full of humor and romance. This is a stand alone novel in part of the Sometimes in Love series. The second novel follows Bonnie and Theo (yes!) and the third one follows Sadie and her love interest (Can’t wait!).

I picked up this novel because it was highly anticipated on NetGalley and now I know why! Great read - 4/5 stars

I received a free, advanced copy of this book from NetGalley.com. This is my unbiased and voluntary review.

For years, Cassie Crow and her best friends from college have been planning a European trip. This was the first vacation she has had in a long time, as she has been so busy building her career in the Chicago broadcast business, in the morning talk show, Chitchat, that she has had no time or energy to even date. This was suppose to be her chance to make up for that, by having a one night stand, something she would never do at home, and only read about in romance novels. But a few days before their trip was ending, still carrying a full box of condoms, she had yet to meet a guy that she wanted to fling with, until they reach Scotland, and she runs into Logan Reid, host of the web show Shenanigans, getting caught in one of his prank videos. She is trying to be taken seriously in Chicago, so refuses to sign the release papers of being filmed with him in a Scottish castle. He follows her to London, but when he finds her, never gives her the papers, wanting her company instead. However, she finds them in his pocket, refuses to listen to him and takes off without a goodbye. But fate is with him, as he is offered a spot in Chicago at Second Studios for a 12-episode mini series, and when he tracks down Cassie, she is no longer angry at him. But he has his own issues, never having gotten over the sudden death of his father and is scared to love anyone. Is there a future for these two? Although there a few parts that seem to drag a bit, the story is well written, with endearing characters, a female villainess and close friends that are ripe for their own romance stories. I enjoyed the story.

Standard contemporary romance with a vacay vibe that continues throughout the book. Romance is typical, the Scottish lilt fun (at first, i.e.: the 'ayes" and "lass" become so prolific, that it soon gets old). A bit more depth would have given this read something special. The secondary characters are compelling, but they fade away in the third act and the Cassie and Logan's relationship does not provide enough oomph to keep the momentum going. Cassie's backstory of work woes and family dynamic is a relatable element, but it is not fully fleshed out to deliver the drama that is suggested. Still Getting Hot with the Scot is a nice read, but does not stand out from the crowd.

This story was a great read. Following best friends who had planned this vacation for five years. All Cassie wanted was to have a foreign fling. But being a romance novel lover she got more than she bargained for in a hot scot named Logan.
This was a fun, sexy and all around good time book. The characters were believable and the supporting cast was fun to hang out with. You'll want to read more about the other ladies in the story.

“‘We both know you’re not going to find a better souvenir than that’—she tilted her head, ponytail flicking in the direction of the kilted slab of sexy Scot waiting behind them—‘in the gift shop.’”*

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Cassie dreams of having a wild fling on her European vacation, but she’s running out of time and countries. In Scotland, her steamy encounter with a native seems promising until she discovers it’s all part of a prank; one that Logan hopes will go viral and secure him a spot on an American television show. Having witnessed firsthand the damage a social media misstep can bring, Cassie doesn’t want the clip to ruin her own television career aspirations. While she can’t get enough of Logan, she’s not sure what he wants more: a signed release form or a relationship.

GETTING HOT WITH THE SCOT has all the makings of a great romance series starter with a relatable heroine, a swoon-worthy hero, and a bevy of best friends who each deserve their own happy ever after. An abundance of Scottish dialogue and frequent shifts in narration might bug some readers, but the story and the characters are solid and engaging. The groundwork is nicely laid to get the sequel off the ground running and readers won’t have to wait long to get their next fix. Johnson creates a fabulous balance of naughty and nice in this sexy and fun new series.

Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the opportunity to experience this novel in advance of its release.

When St Martin's Press reached out to me about reading this book, I was a little hesitant given my recent experience with this genre. All too often, reading a romance book feels like reading a checklist - all the main points are the same, the only things that change are the names and the backdrop. While this book was a bit predictable, it has massive heart and an enjoyable plot that will hold a lot of appeal to people who are looking for a fun, fast read.

Getting Hot With the Scot follows Cassie and her horde of friends as they are finishing up their dream European vacation. Cassie's at a pivotal part of her life - she's ready to trade her safe career for a more challenging and serious (read: more unstable) role at her company. In the meantime, she's also trying to break out of her shell and push her boundaries - be more daring in her life. Enter Logan: a YouTube prankster who pulls a con on Cassie and starts following her around Europe to get her to sign a release form.

I can't say that the plot to this book was wholly original - it was definitely predictable, but I was pleasantly surprised with the pacing of this book - it was snappy and quick and lagged in very few areas. There was a good mix of cutesy romantic stuff, real life challenges (both in the form of Cassie's new job and in the life hurdles Logan has experienced), and drama. These three were balanced well, and made me not want to put the book down.

Cassie was surprisingly likable - she wasn't a pushover and stood her ground on things that were important to her. For example: when Logan repeatedly confronted her about the release form, she didn't bow to his pressure. She stood her ground, was daring in her career, and was just generally a pleasant character. I only wish that she had cared more about her friends: Bonnie is clearly going through some tumultuous times, but Cassie doesn't really try to help her. I was a bit more on the fence about Logan - he started out being a bit of a tool, and then just kinda spiraled into being a very generic romance leading man.

One of my gripes with this book is about the sheer volume of side characters and how underdeveloped they were. I'm sure the plan is to give each character a spin off from this book (including the already scheduled one about Bonnie), but they really added nothing to the plot. The only side character I was even remotely invested in was Bonnie, because she was the only one given any semblance of character out side of a single trait (one of Cassie's friends' only defining characteristic was that she never ever gained weight no matter how much she ate). Honestly, the book would have been better (and smoother) for trimming the fat that was these characters.

This was a bubbly, cliche, and quick read oozing with charm and sweetness. While it's not necessarily the freshest of plots, it's a fun ride that makes for perfect beach reading. If you're on the hunt for a new romance author to follow - Melonie Johnson is your gal. I'd give Getting Hot with the Scot 4/5.

I like the premise of this series, but this was just an OK read for me. I'm glad that many other reviewers enjoyed the book, but for me there did not seem to be enough character development or chemistry between Cassie and Logan. I did enjoy the friendship and camaraderie between the group of women, so will continue to give this series a try.

When Cassie Crow and her friends take the trip of a lifetime to Europe, one of the things on her bucket list is to have a passionate affair with a sexy man. What begins as a trip through a museum to hear a book lecture takes a turn when Cassie meets a Scottish man in a kilt. Turns out he's filming an episode of his show "Shenanigans" to which Cassie does not agree to appear in. Logan, the sexy Scot, is on a mission to get her to sign the release so he can air his episode.

Cassie would really like to get to know Logan after a hot kiss they shared but is he only in it for the release or do they find a true romance?

Getting Hot With the Scot was an irresistible fun and sexy romp with these two characters and I highly recommend this book.
Thank you.

IT’S TIME TO FLIRT WITH A MAN IN A KILT

Cassie Crow, a pop-culture reporter for a TV talk show, is focused on becoming a “serious” journalist. But when she stumbles into a kilted Highlander with a killer accent, Cassie decides that taking one night off from work and spending it with a sexy Scot couldn’t hurt. . .

Logan Reid has built a career on his charm, hosting a series of off-the-wall hijinks on the Web. But when the Scottish prankster meets the all-American, equal parts intelligent and irresistible Cassie, Logan realizes that one night of fun won’t be enough. Could it be that this career-focused, commitment-phobic couple is finally ready to take a chance at true and lasting love?

This is not my usual romance read but the title caught my attention. Cassie and Logan's story took a long time coming to it's Happily Ever After but it did with all sorts of twists and turns along the way.
The characters are all intriguing and I look forward to many of them getting stories of their own.
I gave this book 4 of 5 stars for storyline and character development.
There are some very steamy moments of intimacy in this book so be prepared.
I received a complimentary digital ARC of this book to read. This in no waay affected my opinion of this title which I read and reviewed voluntarily.

Aww so sweet and Logan?? Total yum!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just as the title suggests, the story is a cute romcom that takes a hold of you and will not let go. It starts with a wild and wacky scene and just keeps on going.
While on a trip of a lifetime with 4 other friends, Cassie finds herself wrapped up in a hunky, kilt wearing Scot who is so worth the intense ribbing she gets from her friends. After all, who could resist, especially when the hot Highlander returns the heat and ups the passion.
This fun, lighthearted story is loaded with adventure, a few ups and downs, and some hot and heavy hooking up that takes them all by surprise. A better surprise is the way the author takes the two personalities and balances them beautifully.
He is a wounded soul that hides everything behind jokes and fun. She is a hardworking gal, aching to get ahead at her work and enjoying her European fling. After all, that is why she brought a king size box of condoms with her on vacation.
Sweet, funny, sexy AF, and just a wonderful all around read, Getting Hot with the Scot by Melonie Johnson is a fabulous first time novel and sets the bar high for other up and coming rom-com writers. A definite must read!
What a start to a great new series! I loved the characters of Cassie and Logan. This was a captivating novel and I highly recommend it. Thanks to St. Martin’s Press and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.
This was book was adorable and you fall in love with a hot Scot and I have to say that I would have done the same thing that Cassie did and enjoyed an affair while on vaca, shoot I was jealous. I laughed at how they said she read too many romance books, I personally do not think that that is possible. We get to enjoy the vacation thru their eyes and I always like to read about a group of friends that have fun together but are there for each other when needed. And the romance between Cassie and Logan was hotttttt. Can't wait to hopefully read about Bonnie and Theo..Enjoy!
Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author..(netgalley) Voluntarily reviewed with my own thoughts and opinions.
