This is a beautifully illustrated book. I enjoyed reading about the goddesses. The angels were interesting too.

I loved this book and its varied collection of 100 angels, spirit guides, and goddesses! This book was actually a lot of fun to read and really opened my mind to using other images and personifications in my own religious and spiritual ideas. Loved this and I loved learning about other figures from around the world.

I enjoyed this look into various women in religion however I wanted something that would be more in depth. This seemed to only reach the surface of these dynamic individuals.

I quite enjoy the stories in this book, although I did find the connections and relationships to the various gods a little disjointed and hard to follow.
Absolutely loved the artwork in this book.

Thank you, NetGalley for the preview of this digital ARC.

I have always wanted to find a spiritual master for myself ever since I began listening to Gretchen Rubin's podcasts (she has one herself). But I had no idea where to begin. Angels, Spirit Guides & Goddesses by Susan Gregg and Audra Auclair is a perfect book for that. Filled with beautiful illustrations and information, this book was a wonderful read from the beginning to the end.

Angels, Spirit Guides and Goddesses is a great starting point for anyone looking to learn about deities from a variety of religions and cultures. The content was easily digestible and it was a quick read. You could definitely refer back to the book as a reference item because it listed what each deity could help you with in your own spiritual practice. There was also some beautiful artwork in the book. My favorite aspect of the book was the rituals that were added for each deity and that the book teaches you how you can easily work with them in your day to day life. If you're looking to thoroughly study deities of different religions you will probably want a more intensive book, but for an introduction or for casual reading this is a lovely option.

Gorgeous and inspiring. The illustrations are simply breathtaking - many times I found myself pausing in my reading to just stare at a particular one and drink in all the detail and color. Definitely an intriguing jumping off point for further exploration into some of the beings and mythologies mentioned. Recommended!

A good jump off point. Not religion/pantheon specific Not in alphabetical order, if that is important to you.

LOVED having a guide to Angels--their specialties, how to speak to them. I often pray to angels and knowing their specific area of specialization is helpful and I feel especially powerful. I do not believe in praying to or contacting other goddesses so I did not read this section or find it particularly powerful.

This book contains four sections. Each section brings a different group of celestial helpers: angels, saints, ascended masters, and deities. The author gives a short explanation for each section. What those celestial helpers can do for you and how you can connect with them. For example, a meditation is a good start to connect with the angels. Saints performing miracles can assist you in achieving your miracles. Ascended masters assist people in letting go of their limiting beliefs and direct them to the easiest and most direct route where they want to go.

Each celestial helper is presented in a straight-forward manner: religious association, helping powers, invocation and short info about the celestial helper. Each one is presented with an illustration, which visually helps you remember them.

For example, Saint Germain can help you make freedom a reality in your life. “Freedom is a choice we make moment by moment by how we focus our attention, what we believe, and whether we choose love or fear as our motivation.”

The section about gods and goddesses gives also a glimpse into cultures. For example, “Itzamna is the founder of the Mayan culture (…). He brought his people maize and cocoa and showed them how to heal.”

It is a very enjoyable and practical read. I’ve read a few books about angels and this book definitely brings something new and unique.

Engaging and informative! Exceptionally beautiful illustrations. I knew of some of the deities but I also learned something new as well. Wonderful read! I voluntarily read this book via NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.

I really enjoyed this book. I loved elarning about the gods, goddess, leaders and spritual advisors of a variety of reliugions and cultures. The dreawings were beautiful and varied. While I don't neseeracily have a desire to pray to these figures, just expanding my mind outside my own tehology was eyeopening and midn expanding.

Wonderful, colorful portraits to accentuate the descriptions of many angels, saints, spirit guides and goddesses. I appreciate the consistent format and categories of information. The descriptions are brief and clear. This is not a full analysis of each angel, goddess, saint or spirit guide but a preliminary overview. I found it helpful and would probably refer to it frequently at our bookstore. I would recommend this to many of our clients.
Thank you NetGalley for making this available to me.

This book was lovely. It's and excellent reference/guide-book for all, from those just beginning their spiritual journey to those who just wish for a deeper connection.

As someone who was brought up Catholic, I really enjoyed the descriptions of the saints. I grew up being told to pray to various saints, so it was nice to read some of their backgrounds. It was a little interesting and strange that so many of the saints are associated with roses.

As far as the book structure, it would be helpful if the picture and description placement were more consistent. Maybe it was made more difficult because I read this as an e-book, but it would help to have all of the illustrations first and then the description, or vice versa, instead of switching it every so often. Having inconsistent placement can leave the reader a little confused in e-book format as to which illustration belongs to which description.

I didn't care for the fact that under Oshun's "associated culture" section it listed African. Under the "about" section, it clearly states that she is a Yoruba goddess, so her associated culture should be Yoruba. This is the same for Yemaya, who is a Nigerian goddess (presumably of various Nigerian cultures?), and placed under the "African" culture. Africa is too diverse and full of wonderful, varying cultures to place them all under one umbrella like that. In contrast, the Egyptian gods and goddesses were clearly labeled as Egyptian in their culture section, despite Egypt being just as much a part of Africa as Nigeria and Benin (where the Yoruba peoples live).

Kwan Yin is also a Chinese name for one of the Bodhisattva. It seems incorrect to label her Indian/Asian.

Overall, this was an excellent book covering a wide array of spiritual guides, god(desse)s, and various other spiritual beings. The illustrations were gorgeous and truly added something magical to the book. I loved that the descriptions of each being was separated into sections (associated cultures, what they will help with, how to invoke them, and an about section). This made the descriptions easy to follow, and it would make them easy to refer to when in need.

This is a book that has thumbnail descriptions of revered figures through time. Coming from a pagan point of view, I found it mostly Christian in nature so less valuable to me than to others perhaps. The information is about half a page per entry so just the top notes. Interesting but not a lot of depth.

I absolutely loved this book by Susan Gregg. It's one of those books that I wish I had in physical form, just so I could hold it in my hands and take it with me everywhere. It opened my eyes to a world that I am just now beginning to realize. It was so comforting, so inspiring and so wonderful all around. Susan Gregg writes with ease, giving the whole of the book a friends-having-coffee feel. I absolutely loved it and highly recommend!!
