Enemies to lovers is one of my favorite troupe so this book immediately caught my eye. Emma hates Cooper because she feels as though he does not pull his weight in their workplace and she is always picking up his slack. Emma is also secretly attracted to Cooper and has been for a while which only intensifies her hatred because she does not want to feel that way about him. The story was well written but had some parts I did not enjoy. It was hard to tell if Cooper liked Emma back. One of my favorite parts of enemies to lovers is hearing both sides of the story and how each secretly loves the other but I did not get that from this book. Overall Nina's writing style was great but this book was lacking a tad for me.

I loved the world of Hope Lake and the characters. Emma and Cooper were cute in their feisty flirty way. I found it a little maddening that Emma fought her feelings so hard and Cooper kept messing around with other women if he truly cared about Emma. But anyway...I enjoyed the story and there were many fun, quirky moments. I adored Henry and Nick. The friendship between the four was perfection. Definitely a good read.

Nina Bocci's debut novel seamlessly meshes the lighter women's fiction with the deeper undertones of politics in her debut novel. Childhood friends Emma and Cooper are now all grown up. But the time for friendship or anything more has now long since passed. Emma, the daughter of her town's longstanding Mayor is tasked with helping her old friend in his campaign for Mayor. Cooper's charming good looks and sweet talking ways may not be enough to overcome his playboy reputation, especially given his competitor's penchant for playing dirty. This is where Emma comes in with her years of experience and insight. The two start off amicably enough however the banter starts flying and slowly, the tension starts building.
On the Corner of Love and Hate is a slow start however it is worth the investment. Emma is a strong protagonist that most readers would be able to relate to and Cooper is positively swoon worthy. The political backdrop added some extra depth to the usual small town romance novel. The ongoing banter between the two mains was equivalent to watching en evenly matched pro tennis match. I enjoy a good friends to enemies to lover story and Nina Bocci certainly delivered. I look forward to seeing what else this author has in store for us in the future.

I enjoyed this story. I found it charming and fun. While I was frustrated with the characters much of the time, I did grow to love them as well. I love Nina's writing and this was a great start to a new series that I can't wait to read more from. I look forward to reading more from these characters and this world.

This is my first book by this author, I am really impressed with her style of writing. While this is a slow burn romance you can't help but read As fast as you can to see how things will go. I truly enjoyed this book and I look forward to reading more from this author.

I will say that I am not a political person in the slightest. I had a little trouble with this book because I am a little under-educated in the political world, but this book was still easy enough to understand!

This was a great friends/enemies to lovers novel! I really enjoyed the chemistry between the two main characters, Emma and Cooper. Their snide comments and just overall love had me swooning.

I almost gave this book three stars because I felt like at some points I could've just skipped ahead and still understood what was going on in the plot. However, the ending did GET ME .

The actual gasp that I let out at the ending had me laughing at myself. It was hilarious and not what I expected at all. I am a believer in Nina Bocci and her ability to make me laugh.

I really enjoyed this one and if you are a fan of Christina Lauren and Lauren Layne, definitely put this one on your to-be-read list!

. I really enjoyed the premise of the story. I loved the dynamic between the four best friends. Emma was so hateful throughout the book and even though it is explained why, it just felt so unnecessary most of the time. There were also a lot of errors(words duplicated and extra words) that really bothered me that caused me to drop my rating.

Anyone who knows me knows that enemies to lovers stories are my jam. There is something about the sass and the snark that gets me every time! I thought Emma and Cooper were fun and their frenemies banter full of funny barbs and bite. While this story was light on steam and tamer on the romance front and the enemies to lovers scale, I did enjoy the small-town feel of the story!

When Emmanuelle "Emma" Peroni decides to overhaul and reinvent the playboy image of her former bestfriend and uber annoying colleague, Cooper Endicott, into their small town's next Mayor, she never expected their acrimonious relationship to develop into something more.

Overall, I liked the small-town romance feel. The back and forth banter was full of quick and witty comebacks and while I chuckled at a few, I did feel like Emma was almost too hard on Cooper. I felt for him at times which took away from my rooting for them to get together. I also needed to feel their chemistry as it felt somewhat lacking at times.

Overall, I liked Cooper, his good heart and the slow-burn feel of this romance and am invested enough in this town to want to continue with the series. 3.5 stars! ~Ratula (less)

This was my first book by Nina Bocci, and I look forward to reading more from her. I will admit that this one did take me a little while to get into - but I think that's because a lot of this storyline has to do with politics and I'm not a huge fan of that, and not a lot seemed to be happening. I just couldn't get into it right away.

As we get further along in the story though, we get to know the main character, Emma, more and more, and we uncover more about her past, more about Cooper and her other friends, and more about the town itself.

Told only from Emma's POV, I liked that she knows what she wants in terms of her career, and she stands up for herself, and is a really strong character. But her interactions with Cooper and hr communication with him really needs to some work. She needs to man up and accept, or just plain see, whats going on around her.

That's the whole point of the story though, and adds to the angst that Bocci has built up. I thought the banter between them was funny at times, and I like the other two male best friends, Nick and Henry, and I'd like to learn more about them in the future.

There are alot of strong characters in this book, and once we finally get down to things and see if they're going to communicate properly, we discover more about them. I was hanging on every word of this book for at least the whole second half of it.

I liked the ending, and I look forward to more of this series.

What a fun read! I really enjoyed reading this one. The characters were fun and realistic and I loved the romance.

This book did not meet my expectations. It was touted as being great for fans of Christina Lauren and Lauren Layne (two of my favorites) and this was not in the same vein. I think my main issue was how dislikable the hero was. With only being told from the heroines POV, it was hard to understand why he was that great. He seemed to just screw up a lot and not redeem himself. I liked the heroine and how strong she was but didn't appreciate her cleaning up his messes. I would have liked more relationship development but nothing really happened until two thirds of the way through the book.

Fun and entertaining are the first words that come to mind to describe this book! Emma and Cooper and their dislike for each other that slowy changes to attraction as well as the insider look at the links gone to and tricks pulled out for political campaigning made this a hilarious and fulffy read! Emma is feisty and smart and Copper at first comes across a complete jerk but still yet you find yourself rooting for them and breathlessly monitoring every fun encounter between them a quick funny and wittt romance that anyone can enjoy!

On the Corner of Love and Hate is a small town, enemies to lovers slow burn romance, with just the right amount of politics to keep things interesting and unique.
Emma and Cooper will fustrate you but also make you laugh, and will most definitely leave you wanting more.

Emma and Cooper have been best-friends and frequent sparring partners their entire lives. From political families they have a lot in common but do they trust each other with the most important thing? Mixed messages and missed moments have led them to where they are. In the end who will win? A story of friendship, loyalty, and finding the strength to risk everything for what they really want.

On the Corner of Love and Hate is an enjoyable and fun enemies to lovers trope with a backdrop of small town politics. This slow burn romance is perfect for your summer vacation read!

Would recommend to fans of contemporary romance.

Emmanuelle (Emma) Peroni loved her small town. As a local government employee, she dedicated her time in helping to make Hope Lake thrive. With the upcoming mayoral election, the town was abuzz with candidate Cooper Endicott’s not-so-savory past exploits. She was strategically roped in to help his public image and political campaign. The only problem was they couldn’t see eye to eye without wanting to punch each other’s face.

This book pleasantly surprised me because I ended up liking it more than I thought I would. I was worried about the political part of the story but it wasn’t stuffy and quite entertaining.

Cooper was an unrepentant Casanova but that’s part of his charm and I liked how deep down the things he did were important to him. Emma was likable and relatable, even though there were times I wished she wasn’t so obstinate.

I adored the picturesque small-town setting and the antics of the tight-knit community. The romance was a very slow burn and low on heat, but I loved the banters and tension between them, so it worked for me.

In the Corner of Love and Hate is a story of working for what you believe in. It would appeal to readers looking for a lighthearted enemies to lovers romance.

On the Corner of Love and Hate was a bit of a mixed bag for me. On the one hand, I was invested enough in the characters to want to know what happened with them. I was also intrigued enough by the secondary characters to want to know what their stories will bring (especially Henry, with whom I'm already half in love).

On the other hand, this slow burn romance was a little light on the burn and a little heavy on the slow. I felt like the majority focus was on the mayoral election storyline and the romance was more of a secondary plot. Which, would maybe have been fine if I hadn't gone into this looking for a romance. And, there is a romance here - but it ultimately didn't feel satisfying in the way I wanted it to. By the time the burn caught flame, I wasn't really sure how to feel about either of the characters anymore.

In the end, it was a bit of a lukewarm reading experience for me, but I'm still glad that I read it. I'm definitely invested enough to pick up the next one!

I really enjoyed this friends-to-antagonists-to-lovers romance. Add in the small-town politics and the sense of humor and this made a very enjoyable read that I stayed up late to finish.

We see everything from Emma’s point of view. Her father is the long-time mayor of this small Pennsylvania town and his chosen successor is Cooper whom Emma has had confusing feelings about since she was a kid. First they were friends and then she had a crush on him. But Cooper was immature at the time and enjoyed all the women who were attracted to him. Then they ended up working in the same community development office for the town. WHile they both had the same goals to help the town grow economically, Emma can’t help resenting Cooper.

And now she’s having to pick up the slack at the office while he’s busy campaigning for mayor and getting involved in several scandals stemming from the appeal that he seems to have for women.

It’s clear that there is much more to Cooper than Emma allows herself to see. She’s just rather blind to how Cooper has matured since college. For such a smart, driven woman, she is still rather dumb about what she feels for him. I would have enjoyed it more if she hadn’t been portrayed as so blind to what was going on. She might have noticed that Cooper’s opponent was fighting dirty and instead of waiting for the next attack, gone on the offensive. Why did it take so long to figure out the connection between the opponent and the newspaper editor? Why didn’t Cooper and his campaign do more to attack his opponent on the issues rather than seemingly depend just on Cooper’s charm winning over voters?

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book that I received from Netgalley; however, the opinions are my own and I did not receive any compensation for my review.

4.5 stars to this wonderful romance! It was more like frenemies-to-lovers than a typical enemies-to-lovers love story, which added a unique dynamic between the main characters. The reason it wasn't a complete 5 star read for me was because the backstory between the characters was confusing at first and not fully explained until too late in the story. The two had great chemistry, but I wished for a little more *romance" (if you know what I mean ;) ). I also loved the politics storyline, although it was so cut-and-dry that it made it super easy to root for the good guys.

Emma's father is the current mayor of Hope Lake, PA and he wants to retire. His protégé, Cooper is running to replace him, and Emma's father wants Emma to be his publicist. Emma and Cooper have a history, and Emma is less than enthusiastic to take on the job. Cooper attracts women like bees to flowers and Emma finds it more and more difficult to give Cooper a clean image. Emma decides Cooper needs to have a steady girlfriend to make him seem more mayor-like. Will it work? A genuinely enjoyable tale.
