Moonlight & Whiskey is an enjoyable read. I really liked the characters of Declan and Avery. I love a strong, snarky heroine, and Avery is definitely that. My favorite bits were when she put people in their places. I felt like the story could have been tightened some; there were places where I found myself skimming sections to get back to the interaction between the main characters. Aside from that one aspect, I really liked the story and the author's writing style, and I look forward to reading more in the future.
Thank you to NetGalley and Random House--Loveswept for providing an ARC for review.
Avery has a p0rn habit.
Any books that starts with that sentence indicates what type of book this will be.
Pretty hot.
Avery is a curvy girl and in a rut.
Declan is a hot commodity and when they meet its hot and on.
This was a fantastic book! It’s about Avery, an overweight engineer who’s always been treated like crap by men; both personally and professionally due to her weight. She also has a “who gives a f*@k” attitude. She and Kat, her ex-model bff, go to NOLA. There she meets Declan, a super hot, tatted up musician. Through the story, Avery finds herself and maybe even love along the way if she’ll just let down her walls.
I wasn’t sure how this story would go. Would there be heartache or HEA at the end? Does it matter though when you finally learned to embrace who and what you really are?
The writing and character development was outstanding. I got pulled into this story and had many late nights since I just couldn’t put it down. The secondary characters were also fantastic and I feel they had as much a stake in this story as Avery and Declan. I kinda want to read it again right away!
Truly a book of all emotions, from the lows to the highs. This book has you laughing, then crying and then on top of the world. Life surely took these 2 and put them thru the wringer before putting them both back together better than they could ever be apart. Awesome read!!!
I thought this was a good story and it was a page turner . I enjoyed the storyline and it has a little bit of everything in it. I enjoyed reading about Avery and Declan.
I received an Arc from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
Kudos to Tricia Lynne for writing a "big girl" heroine that my size 14 self can actually recognize and doesn't make me cringe. Avery is confident and sexy but still has those little moments where she deals with the scars of not being a size 6 in this world. However, it doesn't permeate her every thought as some authors would have tried to (inaccurately) portray. This book was hot and emotional and fun and I devoured it in one day.
Wow! I don’t know what I loved the most about this book! It kept me interested from the very first word! Avery was my girl! She was smart, beautiful and the mouth of her ! Loved her. Declan hmmmm wow! All the characters leapt from the page into real people. Katia, Matt, Jamie, Shaun, Sasha they all came to life . It’s hard to believe this is the authors very first book! I will def add Tricia to my list of fabulous authors! I loook forward to more from her!!!!!!!!
Omg great book! But I did have to take a star off because Declan doesn't talk that much?! I thought it was single pov but then Declan did get a few chapters, like two?? So I wish we had his side a little more!! But this story was soooooo good that, that made up for a lot!!! This is Declan and Avery story, Declan is a lead singer of a local band that could actually make it big it they don't want that! Avery is on vacation in New Orleans!! That's where her and Declan meet! My bestie and I are from Florida and took a trip to New Orleans earlier this year! We managed to go to a book signing while there! Anyway there was so much in this book that we saw in New Orleans that really made the story for me! I loved the graveyard scene!! We went there too!! Lol so if you want to get away to New Orleans in your head definitely read this one!! I loved it! It brought back lots of great memories! This book was funny, had some heartbreak , some heartache, some drama, and was really really 🔥🔥🔥!!! Definitely don't miss out on this one! Thank you Netgalley and penguin random house for sharing this book with me! I truly hope this is going to be a series!!
This was funny, sexy and exciting. I really enjoyed it. I am now a fan of this author. Thqnk you for the opportunity
I had trouble with the book; I liked it overall b ut have to say I had a hard time liking either of the main characters. They're both idiots at times (sometimes for good reasons) and both are extremely stubborn. Sometimes so much so I just want to yell at them both. In all honesty, I can't say that they're good for each other but they do care alot about the other.
My favorite part of the book had little to do with the main couple as a couple. ***Minor spoiler: It was when Avery told a room full of men at her former job to go fuck themselves. It was just so satisfying. Got to love a strong woman."
