Filled with so many laugh out loud moments, just perfection!
Tripping on a Halo is a unique, romantic comedy standalone, about a goofy girl that appears to be stalking a guy when in reality she's just trying to protect him. The story is sweet, hilarious, swoony, and emotional. The characters are absolutely adorable, likeable and freaking believable. Declan and Autumn stole my heart!
I won't go into details because I don't want to spoil it for anybody, just know that the story is beautifully well written, and filled with so many laugh out loud moments. This book wasn't at all what I thought it'll be, it was much more, just perfection!!
All in all, the story is sweet, fun, entertaining, well-paced, and keeps you turning the pages and smiling all the way through. I devoured it, and enjoyed every minute of it.

Different kind of romance
I found Tripping on a Halo by Alessandra Torre hard to get into. While I think the author was trying for a plot line that was original the story just didn't pull together for me. I know by the other reviews I've read there are others with a very different opinion. I encourage you to read this book and decide for yourself.
I received an advance reader copy via Netgalley.

Court: To say that we've loved Alessandra Torre for a long time feels like an understatement at this point...but here we are doing it anyway! This book was a breath of fresh air and if you're looking for something that has hilarious shenanigans and a little more under the surface than it seems then this is the book for you. Shel: Yes--so light-hearted and then packs an emotional punch when you least suspect it!
"It’s really hard to save a guy’s life when he keeps running from you." - Autumn
Court: Autumn as a main character is absolutely hilarious. She is funny and legit has this idea that her sole mission in life is to save Declan Moss from mortal peril. Shel: When I figured out what was going on I cracked up! Being in her head is an interesting experience (understatement of the year), and as you read and get intel from her conversations with her sister (and brother in law Roger...he's hilarious, too!) and therapist you see that this is where things get a little twisted. Her perception is not reality...but goodness, between plane crashes and a trash switcheroo we wonder along with Declan...why him! Then...we get the added bonus of having Declan's point of view (swoon!), and along with Nate and Nate's sister we get a delightful birds eye view to how this whole story is going to shake out. Nate and his sister was the perfect touch--I imagined them both with a devilish gleam in their eyes--they were so fun loving and hilarious.
Court: As always, Alessandra's writing abilities are on point...she is like a fine wine that just keeps getting better and better. The dialogue is witty and funny, but also life affirming and deep at the same time. This isn't a suspense we're used to getting from her, but this was an escape that I will be coming back to again and again. Shel: I agree. Alessandra has written so much at this point that she's really written something for everyone, inside and outside of the romance community. And just when you think you've got her narrowed down to one genre or sub-genre, she does something new and different. It's one of the reasons I really enjoy her work--I know that I'll like her style and that she'll give me something I wasn't expecting.
If you loved her novel, Hollywood Dirt, we think you'll really enjoy the humor, quirkiness, and sweet romance in Tripping on a Halo.

4.5 Stars!
Declan Moss is a gorgeous architect who lives in Tallahassee, Florida. He has a great life except for the creepy, blonde stalker he can’t seem to shake. Between multiple attempts to see him at his office, odd outbursts, and showing up all over town he was convinced she was a lunatic who had serious boundary issues. When she begins to step up her game he becomes more alarmed than flattered.
Autumn Jones is a quirky, beautiful woman who has an obsession with cupcakes, scrapbooking, her pet pig, and Declan Moss. She was plagued by worry over this stranger, and feared something terrible was going to happen to him. She felt it was her job to protect him, and his safety and well being had become her top priority. She viewed herself as his guardian angel, and vowed to keep him from harm.
Six months go by until Declan and Autumn finally come face to face. Up close Declan is blinded by her beauty. He’d never met a woman this awkward and adorable, but also sexy as hell. Sparks fly and soon the fascination is mutual. Could fate or the universe be pushing them together? As their chemistry ignites Declan finds himself wanting to spend more time with Autumn, and Autumn can’t resist swooning over this delicious man and his irresistible smiles. He’s become her kryptonite, and now she wonders if she could be the one in danger as he’s slowly stealing her heart piece by piece.
I loved this sweet, fun, unique book! It’s a hilarious romantic comedy that will have you smiling, and laughing out loud. It’s just so darn cute! One of my favorites by Alessandra Torre!

Tripping on a Halo by Alessandra Torre is the best book of 2018! With fun, unique, sometimes quirky characters and fantastic dialogue it is a must-read. Once I picked up the book I did not put it down – at all. It was a wonderfully written romantic comedy with heart-tugging elements.
Autumn Jones is unlike any character I’ve read before. She follows her path and nothing will stand in her way of doing what she sets out to do. That sounds all fine and good, but she’s a bit over the top and a bit unconventional at times. I honestly think that’s what makes her such a memorable character. She has so much heart and can still sometimes come across as a bit awkward.
Now, as for Declan Moss, he is a man’s man and has this sweet as hell center. Like he’s gooey on the inside and sexy on the outside. I don’t know how to describe him exactly, but he’s also a little funny and sweet and I love the way he and Autumn find their way through the journey, together.
Peripheral characters are fun, Autumn’s sister and the sometimes voice of reason. Nate, Declan’s best friend and the man who should get the next book (hint, hint). Even Mr. Oinks leaves a somewhat lasting impression (i.e. so many farts!).
I enjoyed the pacing of Tripping on a Halo and that you didn’t always know what was coming around the next corner, or in the next chapter. I fell in love with all these characters and their unique qualities, the dialogue, and their fascinating story.
BEST BOOK OF 2018! Grab a seat, get cozy, and read this wonderful story filled with hope and heart.
Stars: ★★★★★

Looks like I will be in the minority on this one, but I just couldn't get into it. I struggled with the story line and the characters. I just couldn't find myself getting into this story, and I found myself skimming for parts that seemed important. It was definitely a different kind of read but seemed too all over the place for me.

***5 Stars***
After reading the blurb, hell not even the entire blurb, just the first two sentences and I was all in, because how can you not want to read a book where the heroine has the opportunity to wave an inflatable penis around? You can’t. You. Just. Can’t. So I dove in and I was hooked from the first sentence. This book is all kinds of quirky, sweet and smexy romcom goodness with huge dose of heart that kept me turning the pages until the very end.
Autumn is, aside from being a Guardian Angel, unique, quirky, adorkable and comfortable in her own skin. She has a personality that makes you sit up and take notice and a heart so golden that it pulls you in. Declan is a good man. He’s charming and sweet and has a sneaky sort of charm that intrigues and tantalizes.
Autumn and Declan’s journey is definitely a unique one, understatement, but true, and absolutely entertaining on all levels. From the moment they collided everything that happened between them was unexpected and fun and watching as they spent more time together and became more was all kinds of fun and heartwarming. The smexy was hawt and the bantering between them was highly entertaining. The angst was thankfully low, but they do have quite an obstacle to work through, but it was totally worth it in the end!
This was, hands down, a fun read. The angst was low, but there were moments that kept things interesting. The little twist thrown in was well executed and I loved how it all played out. As for the secondary cast of characters ~ I adored Ansley, she was a lot of fun and I’m hoping we get a little more of Nate in the future and I loved Mr. Oinks. So, if you’re looking for a fun and quirky read, then this is a definitely must read for you!

Cute and unique story about finding love with your guardian angel. Funny, sweet, and a real big twist at the end!

I'm fairly certain I looked like Buddy the Elf eating breakfast while I was reading this.
Meet Autumn. Six months ago she was struck with a feeling and pulled off some divine intervention that ended up saving Declan’s life. Ever since she’s sorta been stalking keeping an eye on him in order to make sure no danger comes his way. Pretty much she’s his self-declared guardian angel. A chance encounter brings the duo face-to-face and Autumn learns that "every time a bell rings, an angel gets her wings" . . . . Or, in this case an “O Face” ; )
I first discovered this author courtesy of a stabby little agoraphobe who lived in a placed known as 6E. Later my mind was pretty much blown when I realized Moonshot wasn’t only a potential candidate for the OhHowILoveClaytonKershaw spankbank, but by the same author. Talk about a switcheroo! AND THEN! Then she melted my underdrawers clean off with Sex Love Repeat. Whew! Just thinking about that one . . .
Where was I? Oh yeah, I was at the point where I was a megafan so as soon as I saw this title (and most adorable cover ever, amIrightoramIright?) I had a mighty need. My wish was granted 48 hours before release and I since I was left to my own devices for a few hours last night before resuming my chauffeuring and maid services for my children I was able to read this whole thing in about a hot second. So now all of you only have to wait ONE MORE SLEEP until you can get it! And you need to get it. I mean, if you are like me and are looking for an escape during this hectic time of year in the form of a funny romance with loveable characters and smexy smexytimes and even maybe a couple of feelz thrown in for good measure.
All the Starz.

Autumn is hysterically funny in her own quirky way with her pet pig and fabulous sister. She starts to "save" Declan from disastrous situations and thinks of herself as his guardian angel. He says stalker, his friend Nate says crazy person. The two have great chemistry, tons of laughs and really sweet moments. Not at all what I was expecting, funny yes but Autumn is truly unique, my favorite kind of heroine. I was lucky to receive an early copy through Netgalley, my review was voluntary.

One word - UNIQUE!!!
With Tripping on a Halo, the author delivered a well written, sweet and original tale that is as charming as it is enchanting.
The feel of this story is comparable to Love, Chloe - a sweet and easy read, perfect for in between heavier reads. A funny story, about a guardian angle that has her hands full from keeping Declan Moss alive. Of course the way she goes about is as cute as it is entertaining. Not just for the reader- lol.
If you love to be entertained by a quirky and sassy heroine. By witty banter and hilarity ensuing shenanigans, and a couple that was a match made in heaven, this is the book for you!
It will entertain you, make you laugh out loud, smile and chuckle, maybe even roll your eyes - but hey that's what a rom-com is there for. It's the easiness and relaxed manner that makes these stories such a wonderful treat. There is no heavy lifting. It's just pure fun!!!
Reading Tripping on a Halo was a lot of fun and exactly what I needed.

4.5⭐
Tripping on a Halo was a captivating, delightful and charming story. That was a pleasure to read. As the characters were quirky, endearing, vulnerable and funny. Not to mention full of charisma and I really enjoyed the somewhat crazy journey they went on to find true love.
I would definitely recommend

Autumn Jones saved a man's life, and now she has been tasked with protecting him, and as long as she can keep a safe distance, she will keep on steering him away from imminent danger. But, when they meet face to face, there is a whole new risk Autumn hadn't though about... and a whole lot of sexual tension to go with it...
Declan Moss has a stalker. Sure, she might be cute and blonde, but she is definitely crazy. So, why is it that he can't stop wanting to spend time with her... without her binoculars...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tripping on a Halo was a delightfully quirky, one of a kind read that will have you laughing out loud and enjoying every minute of it.
Autumn thinks of herself as a guardian angel to Declan. Since saving his life has become her full time job, she is the first to admit that he has become her constant obsession. But, when they cross paths and she realizes just how obvious she has been in her mission, the last thing she expects is for Declan to actually be interested in dating her.
Declan is pretty freaked out by his stalker, until he gets to know her and becomes privy to all of her distinctive personality traits. Finding her quest to keep him safe endearing rather than psychotic goes a long way to fuel his interest in pursuing a relationship with her.
This book was such an unusual and entertaining read. Autumn was pretty crazy throughout, and Declan was quite an open minded man to not let her dedication to protecting him keep him from getting to know her. With their unusual relationship that has a very different start, Autumn and Declan find that there is a whole lot more to their connection than her predestined protection skills.
Sexy, funny, and a with a whole lot of extra goodness I don't want to spoil, Tripping on a Halo was a fabulous, and absolutely recommended read.
I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.
Autumn is on a life saving mission. She's out to save Declan Moss. Save him from what you ask? Well she just feels something is horrible is about to happen to him. She recently lost her mom and about two weeks after that there was a small plane crash in her sister's neighborhood. Autumn had a feeling, something compelled her to let out a dog from a yard who then went after a jogger. A jogger who was headed right in the path of the falling plane. So you see, she saved Declan Moss. Now it's her mission to make sure nothing horrible happens to him.
"I'm keeping him safe. That's it."
"Find a different hobby," she urged. "Something that isn't going to get you thrown in jail."
Declan has no idea why this girl keeps following him. What is the deal with her? He just wants to get over his break up with his cheating girlfriend. He's trying to put himself back out there, but every time he turns around, there she is.
It wasn't just Nicola and Margaret. His life seemed to be cursed when it came to women. Take this blond girl, screaming nonsense on the street yesterday and lurking behind corners and menus every time he seemed to turn around.
Eventually, the day of reckoning) or of them finally coming face to face comes.
"You're going to think I'm crazy."
"I hate to break it to you, but that boat sailed a long time ago."
Autumn tries her best to explain why she's his guardian angel.
He didn't get it. Go figure that I was protecting some eye candy who turned out to be dumb as a bag of rocks.
There just might be some wicked chemistry between these two. And some romps between the sheets. And some swearing off of any future romping. But the best laid plans...
In that moment, I didn't want to protect Declan Moss. I wanted him to want me. To take my heart as his own. I wanted to feel, and be unafraid, and to trust in him to protect me.
Now their relationship has some real twists and turns. Yep, buckle up those seats and just enjoy the ride!
"Then let's talk about our future. Your dreams." He ran his hand gently across the top of my head. "I want to make all of them come true."
I was hooked from the very first sentence. Autumn was talking about a giant penis in her purse.
Me:Really? I’m all kinds of intrigued by this development....tell me more. What a cute and entertaining story. Autumn and her quirkinesses and the shenanigans she would go to to protect Declan had me chuckling. There’s some great witty banter between them. I really loved Autumn, she’s a great character that I would love to be friends with.
Hottie Architect Declan has a stalker.
Yup. He doesn't know how else to describe/explain the pretty blonde crazy girl who keeps showing up all the time. He sees her everywhere. Should he be scared to be killed soon? Or is it all really harmless?
Autmn - the 'stalker' - is not really a stalker, but a guardian angel. At least that's what she thinks. Her sister thinks she's a tiny little bit crazy. But she's not - she knows something bad is about to happen to Declan and she has to save him!
What will happen with Autumn and Decland?
Will there be a HEA? Will everybody survive?
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT!☺
Adorable!
Such a fun book!
I was a tiny bit scared to get started with this story. I was afraid of getting some crazy religious kind of thing, but it wasn't that at all.
It was a mega funny and adorable romance.
A sexy architect guy plus a hilarious stalker guardian angel with a pet pig.
This book HAS to be on Netflix asap!!!
It was so cute and crazy and a bit heartbreaking.
We have inflatable male appendages, a cute little farting pig, trash stealing, scrap-booking, skeet-killing ... lots of amazingly adorable moments.
But we're also asking ourselves ... what is wrong with Autumn? Is there some 'heavenly' thing happening or does she have a brain tumor? And I really hope it's neither of those things.
She needs to be alive to get her happily ever after and she's also not getting her trust fund in two years if her therapist thinks she's crazy. ☺
I loved reading this story and I'm gonna be checking Netflix daily now!!!!
TRIPPING ON A HALO was such a fun & adorable love story. Run to your nearest amazon for your own sexy architect - Declan is mine!!
I devoured Tripping on a Halo in 12 hours. I slept a good 7 of them. That’s pretty fast for me. It hooked me from the first page and never let me go. This story is so unique. It reminds me why I love reading. I smiled, giggled, swooned, and had a few OMG moments. You won’t regret reading this book. I would suggest doing it when you have plenty of time to just read. You won’t want to do anything else after you start. Brava Alessandra!!!
I voluntarily read an early copy.
Quirky, fun, and laugh out loud funny
I loved, loved, loved this book! Tripping on a Halo has all the right pieces for the perfect romantic comedy. It's also original, fun, and a true breath of fresh air. Alessandra Torre has written a book that I won't be forgetting and I know that so many people are going to fall in love with these two.
What would you do if someone was constantly following you? And I'n not talking about the run of the mill stalker. I'm talking about a blond chick who waves an inflatable penis and yells out about purple people eaters! Most would say this is outrageous. I tend to agree. But when you get down to the nitty gritty and see that she's simply trying to save your life, then it's hard not to find it cute. This my friends, is what Tripping on a Halo is all about. A woman who THINKS she is the guardian angels of a pretty good looking architect who will stop at nothing to save his life. Thankfully, Declan doesn't think shes too crazy though because he can't stop thinking about her... What will become of these two? Will they both go bonkers over her meddling? Or will something a bit more romantic happen? You will have to read and find out!
Not only does this book have all the elements of a great romantic comedy, but there is a bit of a twist at the end! I saw it coming from a mile away, but I didn't know HOW the author was going to take it so it was still surprising to me as a reader. In all actuality, I was gripping the pages to see which direction the author was going to go and I got a little worried- I was, after all, very invested in these characters. But don't be worried because I think many readers will LOVE IT.
I highly recommend this one. Seriously, it's a fun and original read and should be on everyone's TBR this year (and even next!).
OMGoodness!!! What a fun, sexy and totally entertaining story. This was for the most part a lighthearted read that will leave you with the warm fuzzy feeling. But Alessandra was also able to add an emotional element to the story.
Tripping On A Halo is the latest standalone novel by Alessandra Torre. It is told mostly in Autumn’s POV but we do get into Declan’s head as well. I truly enjoyed this storyline. I thought the pace and flow of the story worked well. This story follows the journey of a woman who thinks she needs to protect Declan. But what happens when she finds out it is something completely different??
I have been reading some really emotional and angsty reads lately and this book totally took me out of that downer feeling. This was the perfect story for me at this time. I giggled, laughed out loud and blushed quite often.
I have to say I absolutely LOVE Alessandra’s heroines. Autumn was no different. She was fun, sassy, independent and also a little vulnerable. She had something tragic happen to her so she is still reeling from that. But she is also a determined person. She is someone I think all readers should meet. I also liked Declan a lot. I thought these two character balanced each other well.
I also loved the relationship between Autumn and her sister Ansley. It’s what all of us strive for. I have to say I really liked all the secondary characters in this story. They each played a part in this story.
I would 100% recommend this story to anyone who is looking for that lighthearted, fun and sexy read. This is the perfect story for the beach or a lazy Sunday afternoon. If you haven’t read anything by Alessandra Torre yet, this is a great place to start!!!
"You're going to think I'm crazy."
"I hate to break it to you, but that boat sailed a long time ago."
The author dropped me right in the middle of Crazy Town in the first chapter and I found myself struggling to wrap my head around the situation. That didn't stop me from giggling at the visual of the inflatable penis Declan's guardian angel was waving around. I'm not averse to a little cray-cray, or even a lot, in this case.
What was especially funny was that Declan didn't know she was trying to protect him. As the tale unfolds the stalker and stalkee found themselves focused on each other, and not just on his safety. It was fun watching him forced to face his attraction to her, not knowing whether to take her to bed or to jail.
I really enjoyed this sweet, sexy, silly and sometimes serious story. It tugged on my funny bone and pulled my heartstrings. The support characters were also full of personality and my favorite one doesn't even speak English.
Alessandra Torre is a favorite author on my auto-click list, so I'm willing to follow her into whatever theme or genre she decides to tackle and I'm never disappointed.
