Wow! What an amazing book! I loved the character development- from start to finish. I was first recommended to read a book by Tara and I’m sooo glad I did! You won’t be disappointed!

Rock Rebel by Tara Leigh, a great addition in the Nothing But Trouble series (this is book 3). I like the characters and the plot pulls you in from the first page. Enjoyable rock band storyline, with just enough romance. I look forward to reading more in this series and more by author.

I’m just really loving the Nothing but Trouble series! Hot and flawed rock stars, strong and messy women, and just a lot of awesome friendships. Verity was such a powerful character, and I just loved her strength and growth. It can be really hard to accept your past, and move onto a better future, and her character did exactly that. I also appreciate Tara Leigh addressing the #metoo movements impact, and how grey the incidents can be. It’s confusing and troubling, but women are resilient and so very strong. Verity is a wonderful representation of that strength with her own unique situation full of highs and lows. The characters were just so human, and I LOVED that. I’d definitely recommend this series, and I can’t wait for Jett’s story next!

This story had so many layers to it which stemmed from the h’s abuse at the hands of so-called industry professionals. Covering the current and deeply emotive subject, namely the #metoo movement, the author managed to address this highly evocative area with grace and sensitivity.

Rock Rebel introduces readers to an actress/pop-princess who is trying to re-invent herself via the music industry. Having been abused during her previous endeavours, Verity is trying to find her own way in life, and away from her parasitic, co-conspirator mother.

When Travis Taggert, NBT’s manager, also becomes Verity’s manager, their paths were destined to overlap, especially when Verity becomes friends with Piper and Delaney. Having seen Dax at a party, Verity is stunned when she finds herself in an elevator with him especially when she realises he doesn’t recognise her, although the chemistry between the duo is immediately tangible.

Despite not recognising Verity, Dax is stunned when he finds out who she is and immediately starts to distance himself from his feelings towards her. With a joint tour on the cards, Dax is keen to avoid a repeat of what happened with his ex. That said, Verity and Dax soon find more than music in common as their friendship grows.

As the book progresses, Dax and Verity become close but Dax tries to resist his feelings towards Verity. Verity, with her own issues stemming from her past, also finds it hard to open herself up to potentially more heartbreak but despite her misgivings, Dax manages to reawaken something in her.

The connection between Dax and Verity was very slow to develop, mainly due to their past and relationship misgivings, and I found my interest in their story waning slightly as a result. Despite my best efforts, I just couldn’t connect with the characters or the storyline on this occasion. I applaud the author for tackling such a sensitive subject as the #metoo movement but I felt that the subject matter made the story a little too reflective. For me, the story really kicked in around 70% at which point Dax and Verity suddenly find their pasts inexplicably overlapping and the story suddenly became captivating.

As always with Tara Leigh’s books, this was well written with some memorable quotes but on this occasion was less about the music and more about portraying a poignant message.

This is a fantastic book about two people who were hurt by their own family. They meet by chance in an elevator and feel that spark. Tara Leigh writes an empowering tale of how love can change lives. The truth sets them free and allows them to create music. This is a book that brought me to tears and made me feel so glad that one someone could write this story. It’s that story that you root for them and want them to really make it. I really hope this book reaches so many and helps them to speak out. Characters are so well written and I love this series!! Can’t wait for more by this author!!!

Book 3 in the Nothing But Trouble Series but I do beleive you could read this as a stand-alone although I’m sure you will want to go back and read the previous books in this great rock series.
Verity Moore is a pop princess and Dax Hughes is a rock star with a secret, he is the lead guitarist with Nothing But Trouble and she is the new opening act for the tour they are about to embark on.
Rock gods don’t tour with pop princesses.
Verity may be a very talented pop star but she has fallen under the diva reputation and that means proving she is a worthy opening act, problem is there is an instant attraction between the fiery redhead and the swoon worthy rock god will either of them open up and spill the truth about their pasts and the secrets they are hiding......... guess you need to read the book to find that out.
I love all of the boys from Nothing But Trouble but Dax really chiseled away at my heart he tugged on every heart string as I read his story and what can I say about Verity apart from she is not what she seems underneath the pop princess is a sweet loveable woman who needs to be loved and who is perfect for Dax. The banter was witty and perfect ,the chemistry sizzling and together these two make great music . Tara Leigh has given us a beautifully written love story that captivated me and I’m sure if you give this book a chance you will fall in love with the rock gods of Nothing But Trouble.
Looking forward to more from this great series.

“Choose happy.”

Wow! I really enjoyed Dax & Verity’s story! Tara Leigh brings us the next installation in the Nothing But Trouble series. Rock Rebel can be read as a stand-alone. Rock God, (book #1) is Shane & Delaney’s story. Rock Legend, (book #2) is Landon & Piper’s story. Each story builds up in the Nothing But Trouble series.

"Watch me rebel."

I must admit that when I started reading Rock Rebel I was a bit apprehensive with the subject matter and for some it may cause a trigger (no spoilers). With that being said I feel that Tara Leigh did an amazing job tackling a sensitive subject. Bringing out emotion, angst and heartache that accompanies this type of situation and yet it was a story, not a PSA or a finger pointing contest. I don’t know any other way to put it. There are so many other things associated with this topic (again, no spoilers).

"For so long, my voice had been silenced. But it had never disappeared."

Verity Moore, disgraced pop princess, has a chance meeting with Dax Hughes. They are both attracted to each other and curiosity sets in. They find themselves connected in the music industry and as a result are thrown together.

"The man was a song I didn’t know the chorus to."

Dax Hughes is cautious, sexy, and cocky. But he is also quiet and contemplative. Verity is a woman on a mission. She wants her life back. A reset. But overcoming her past is her biggest challenge.
Verity Moore. Crossover artist and disgraced pop princess – one who didn’t apparently take herself too seriously.

Dax and Verity’s story was beautifully written with just the right amount of everything – angst, emotion, sadness, and twists. Verity’s back story left me haunted. Her honesty, the emotional undertones and the sad recaps of her career – the “feels” were on every page! I love how Dax handled certain situations.

“Tell me something true.”

The story flows at just the right pace. There are many ups and downs and a twist or two that I never saw coming! The love that grows between Dax and Verity is so beautiful and believable. The honesty they share is touching. They have a connection, a push and pull that is palpable. An intimacy that is so hot and sexy! The pages were burning up as they came together intimately.

Tara Leigh’s Nothing But Trouble series gets better with each story! Rock Rebel was everything and more! The buildup was steady and the emotions real. Dax was so amazing! And Verity may be my favorite female in the series. She was broken but overcame to become strong and resilient. We are also treated to appearances by Shane, Delaney, Piper and more! I think Jett will be next! Can’t wait to see who can tame this wild boy!

"Anything was possible. Everything was possible."

5 stars!

I'm a fan of the Nothing But Trouble Series! Bad boy rockstars and the women they love make for fun and sexy stories! In book three Rock Rebel, we see Dax falls for a pop princess. These two shouldn't mix and she is off limits, but forbidden romances make for the best kind!

Dax is Nothing But Trouble's guitarist.

description

But he hasn't always been a rock star. He used to play classical music with his family. They're still doing the family 'band' thing pretty successfully, but after things with his ex went wrong six years ago, Dax couldn't do it anymore. So he went to Los Angeles, met the other guys and the rest is history.

Now he's back in New York to see his family play a concert, to celebrate his brothers' birthdays and to help his sister with her career choices.

And he meets her. Verity.

She used to be the star of a hit TV show - but after that show ended almost three years ago, her life didn't go the way she would've liked it to go.

Now she has to get rid of her Momanger and find a new professional person to manage her new career.

She finds that manager in Travis - Nothing but Trouble's manager.

Plus also ... mega attraction between Dax and Verity - but Dax doesn't start things with people in the business or with groupies! ☺ And Verity has been through so much, she's scared to trust anyone

What will happen with Verity & Dax?
Will there be a Happy End???
READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT!☺

#ROCKSTARROMANCE!!!!

Eeep! I'm the biggest rockstar romance fan ever!
And this one was just as adorable & heartbreaking as the first ones.

Book #3 takes place around the same time the last book did. Piper and Landon are not yet at their happily ever after either.
But we concentrate on Dax and Verity of course! ☺

They have this meet cute in an elevator - where she recognizes him, but he doesn't know who she is. Adorable.

With Travis as her new manager they'll see each other all the time. Especially now that a song written by Dax will be Verity's first single! Plus she'll go on tour with the band!

The more they see of each other the more they fall in love - but there are so many secrets and pains in their pasts. It won't be easy to get to that happy end!

But we enjoy reading about every single moment!

I really loved Verity and Dax!

But grrr... I made the mistake of reading an AL Jackson book before I started this one. I love her stories, but AL Jackson's writing style is just not my thing. And I see so many of the same things in Tara's style. Especially after I saw that she thanks AL Jackson in the acknowledgements. The way too poetic writing. The way too many redundant lines of text. Beautifully describing too many unnecessary things. Sometimes I just want to fast forward to when someone talks again. It's nowhere near as bad as AL Jackson does it, but I see similarities! Most readers will love it - but I just don't have time to read too much poetic stuff. I want things happening. Action.

BUT ... I really adored Dax and his story!!!!☺

ROCK REBEL was a really adorable & heartbreaking #MeToo Hollywood & Rock Star Romance! Hurry to your nearest amazon - Dax will be sold out in no time!!!

I can’t believe this is my first Tara Leigh book. I am so excited to have discovered her. Rock Rebel tugs at your heartstrings from the first page. Dax and Verity have secrets that have made their lives so difficult. Both of their families put enormous pressure on them as conditions to their love and acceptance. Verity’s mother really got to me. How she could treat her daughter made me so angry. Somehow she convinced herself that nothing really happened when Verity was with Jack except an “audition.” It disgusted me. But the way Dax stood behind her made this story one of my favorites. Tara Leigh wrote a heart wrenching story with a perfect ending. I loved this book and highly recommend reading it. I can’t wait to read Tara’s other books.

A disgraced pop princess cleans up her act while navigating the treacherous Hollywood scene. Verity Moore is ready to take her career into her own hands in the third Nothing But Trouble novel from Tara Leigh.

Verity teams up with Travis Taggert to restore her reputation. He places her on tour with the popular band, Nothing But Trouble, but to Dax Hughes her presence could be the end of everything he's worked for. Both Verity and Dax are keeping secrets. Verity's dark secrets could bring an end to her newly restored career and Dax's secrets could be the end of their newfound relationship. I love how this story sheds light on their dark pasts and helps them heal through the powers of love, friendship and music.

The pacing is just right. It takes us quickly into Verity's background and whirlwind romance with Dax, but the story doesn't feel rushed. Rock Rebel dives in and addresses a serious issue without making light or brushing it under the rug. Verity's story is realistic and even if someone reading this story isn't in the same position as Verity, it leaves readers with a positive vibe.

This was my first Tara Leigh book and I LOVED IT. Having not read earlier books in this series I didn't think I missed out on anything, in fact it made me want to read the other 2 series too. Tara's shared such loving and believable characters in Rock Rebel, dealing with real and relatable issues and she wrote about them beautifully. We got a story full of everything, a story and characters who are truly memorable. I literally devoured this rollercoaster ride of a book. Thank you so much, Tara.

4.5 stars for me

This was my first Tara Leigh book - but it definitely won’t be my last.

Dax and Verity are the kind of characters I love. Genuine, loving and so believable that I felt like I knew them. Tough subjects are handled in this story. The author does a beautiful job of highlighting a very real issue for women and some scenes are hard, but the message is important and the story needs to be told. I will definitely be looking for more books from this author.

I received an arc of this book

5 Star Review of Rock Rebel (Nothing But Trouble #3) by Tara Leigh
This was my first book by Tara Leigh and I have no idea why that is and I found myself totally invested in Dax and Verity’s story.
Dax Hughes is the lead guitarist of Nothing But Trouble (love the name), a bad boy rock star who once upon a time in a previous life was a classical music prodigy. Turning his back on the music of his past, he is doesn’t care what his family or others think, until he meets Verity Moore.
Verity Moore is trying to make a comeback after a failed TV show and wants to do what she has always longed to do and that is to sing. The last thing she needs is to become involved with Dax. Both Verity and Dax have secrets which are best left alone. However these two are drawn to each other, through their love of music, even knowing that they should not be. What will happen when their passion ignites?
Dax and Verity have pasts that will impact heavily on their current situation. Verity’s issues in particular may trigger reactions in some readers, so please be prepared. Tara Leigh handles these issues with care and compassion and I with impressed with how she wrote this story line.
I really loved the chemistry between Dax and Verity and it was great to see their relationship move forward as they embarked on tour. Rock Rebel shows Verity that she is stronger than she knows she is and with Dax’s support she can be strong and successful.
I liked that these characters were so realistic, they were easy to relate to and I so wanted both Dax and Verity to get their happily ever after.
I enjoyed this book so much that when time permits I will go back and read the previous books in the series.

This book gives you all the feels and then throws in a little extra just for kicks.

Verity Moore is an Hollywood has been child star and she wants to return to the spotlight but not as the actress her Mom wants her to be. Verity can sing and she wants to do her own singing not lip sync to music for a show. She's been through it all when it comes to Hollywood and while she's been beaten down she will rise again and be all the stronger for it.

Dax Hughes was New York's hottest classical music prodigy but he left it all behind to do something he just had to do. Now he's considered a rebel even by his family. But he's a Rock God. Lead guitarist of Nothing But Trouble. Playing on stages to sold out stadiums is a dream but he still keeps to himself hoping for more.

Verity knows there's no way NBT will want a washed up pop princess opening for them but maybe after a connection with Dax the pull will be too much to deny and a tour might not be the only thing to consider. They both sense that there are secrets they are both keeping. Will the lure of each other be enough for both of them to drop their walls and let someone see the past that's still holding them in place.

These two will worm their way into your soul and you'll be yelling for them, screaming for them and hoping and praying for them to get their own HEA!!!

I don’t read a lot of rock star romances. Most of them don’t interest me. But I’m so glad I read this one! This was a beautiful encompassing love story between two broken people. It tugged at my heart strings. It took me on a wild roller coaster wild! I loved it!!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

Rock Rebel was an okay read for me. This book was enjoyed by so many others that I was excited to read it even though the first in this series okay for me. I thought I'd give this one and this author another try but once again, it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. It had potential but I thought it fell flat. One thing about this story that bothers me is the insta-lust with the characters. I enjoy characters that although they have chemistry, there's more than just wanting to rip each other's clothes off. I would have liked to have felt more of a connection between Dax and Verity. Another thing, is that I find the flow of this story too slow for my liking. Yes, this story deals with important issues that I thought were well written but it wasn't enough. This story wasn't a bad read but it is a one time read for me.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story, even though I have not read the first two books in the series. I liked Verity and Dax and how they came together, and I appreciated the music background. The #MeToo theme is also very relevant. I will be going back to read the stories of the other band members.

This book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I had hoped for a fun time with this novel, but I didn't really get that. I didn't connect with the characters, which might be because this book is a third in the series, despite it being marketed as being a readable stand-alone. The plot didn't move much, and it didn't move in a very interesting way until about the last quarter. This book was very introspective, and I think it needed to modulate a little more between interior and exterior to have captured, and held, my attention.

I personally wasn't a fan of the writing style, and I don't think this author is for me. I have no inclination to pick up anything else by Tara Leigh, but if there is an amazing book that you think I'm missing out on, or if the first two are leagues better than the third, let me know and I might give them a whirl.
