Holy Crap!!! Once again Author Tara Leigh has “ROCKED” my mind! Rock Rebel, book 3 in the Nothing But Trouble series, starts off fantastic and packed with heat, and doesn’t.ever.stop! From the very beginning scene in the elevator with Verity and Dax and throughout the whole storyline, you will be hooked!!!

I have really, really enjoyed this series and I believe this book might just be my favorite! I loved the instant attraction and banter, the conflict, the love, the angst, the (HOT) sex scenes, humor, all the characters (in this whole series)…I may have yelled at a character or two out loud while I was reading…HAHA…just LOVED all of it!!! Ms. Leigh has an amazing talent with her words! There are so many quotes and phrases I read over again because I felt them so hard.

“Christ, Verity. There’s nothing about you that doesn’t work for me. Nothing.”

“I thought I was in love once, years ago.
I was a moron.
What I felt then was nothing compared to now.
Verity was the real deal.
She was True.”

AAAHHHHHH!!!! YESSSSS!!!!

When Verity, an actress-turned singer, meets up with Travis (Dax’s manager) she is hoping for a fresh start. Trying to overcome her past evils, including her mother who used to be her manager, and her other nightmares behind her, she signs on to open for Nothing But Trouble. Dax, the hot as hell guitarist for NBT is hoping he can get past any feelings he has for her, because of his disastrous relationship from his past as well. They are both keeping secrets buried, but that never seems to work! The song Dax wrote for Verity (Bombshell Rebel) and the #MeToo movement included in this story are perfect!
I HIGHLY recommend this book! It is A-FREAKING-MAZING!!!!

***SPOILER ALERT***

***DON’T READ ANY FURTHER IF YOU DON’T WANT TO SKIP TO THE STORY’S ENDING***

***LAST CHANCE***

I have to say, of all the proposals I have read…this one is easily one of my favorites!!! The way it happens, the humor involved, the way the whole thing was written…I JUST LOVED IT!!!!

I love a good rockstar book and when I saw this on NetGalley, I had to give it a read. I haven’t read the first two but I don’t think you need to - saying that I would love to go back and read them when my TBR pile has reduced a bit...

I really enjoyed this - you know they are going to end up together, after all it is a rockstar book! What I liked about this was there was not lots of time wasted on back and forth - there was initial denial by the H but he soon came round! Loved Verity - took a strong woman to turn her life around. Loved the epilogue and wanted more!

This story does deal with #Metoo but it is dealt with well and good to see the girl triumph.

“If I was going to go up in flames, Dax could light the damn match.”

“I barely knew Dax. He barely knew me. But this invisible thread between us–I knew it deep in my soul. It was universal, primal, powerful.”

“He was in the zone. That place where music took over and you were just a conduit, a means of expressing something bigger and more powerful than you could fathom unless you experienced it for yourself. All bristling intensity, Dax was so beautiful in this moment. His passion pure and potent. He took my breath away.”

“Verity Moore. She was a sickness and a cure. Risk and safety net. The face of an innocent, the body of a sinner. A past filled with darkness, aa future shining bright. My broken bombshell. My reckless, resilient rebel.”

I fell in love with Verity from the very beginning. She’s a lot tougher than she seems at the same time is the kind of girl you just want to protect. She made a lot of mistakes when she was younger, but everyone deserves a second chance. And when life tosses her that second chance, she’d be a fool not to take it. You see, Verity always wanted to be a singer and her big dream is about to come true. Being the opening act for Nothing But Trouble doesn’t seem real. She wants nothing more than to be a success and to prove to her fans that she’s more than just a has been. But when Dax enters the picture, he manages to turn her entire world upside down. Verity can’t stop thinking about him and worries that getting involved with a man like him would bring her nothing but trouble…There is a lot more to Dax than what meets the eye. Yes, he’s a sexy and talented musician, but would you have guessed that he was a child prodigy and has studied with some of the best? He could play just about anything you put in front of him and was a star when it came to classical music. That is until a woman broke his heart. He followed her to LA, but that just ended up being a dead end. Only his heart never recovered and he soon found a new outlet for his music. He’s great at what he does, but his walls are sky high. And when Verity enters the picture, all bets are off. There’s just something about her that gets under Dax’s skin and he can’t get her out of his mind. Their chemistry is intense and just begs to be taken a chance on. Staying away from each other seems impossible no matter how much they try…..

Overall, I really enjoyed Dax and Verity’s story. I was pulled in instantly and easily devoured this book in just a single sitting. I loved this author’s writing style and I loved the steady pace of the story. I will say that Rock Rebel does deal with some pretty tough issues and I appreciated the way that the author handled them.

I loved the pull between Dax & Verity and I really enjoyed seeing them trying to figure out things. They both had secrets in their past and guarded their hearts. But, the feelings these two had, were way too hard to deny. All they could do was sit back, enjoy the ride and hope that everything would work out in the end.

Rock Rebel is a fun and sexy read. While it is the third book in this series, it definitely can be read as a stand-lone. Rock Rebel will have you feeling a ton of emotions, but in the end, it’s totally worth the ride. This is the first book that I’ve read in this series and I’m super excited to get my hands on the other two books.

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Wow, this series goes from strength to strength. This is the third book in the Rock series and it's Dax and Verity's story. Verity is truth in Latin, and the truth emerges as a powerful theme throughout this book.

Both of them have lost love. Failed relationships of various types frame their personalities and make it hard for them to find a way to be with each other. At the same time, Leigh makes their attraction to each other, the inevitable pull... the gravity come alive. She writes about them in ways that you don't want to put the book down, that even when it's done you have them in your mind. The perfect book hangover.

This series, this book, is the type of book that combines the perfect amount of plot and character development, moving the story along. It's also a perfect example of how romance can be a complex genre. The characters have plausible contemporary battles to fight, and we watch them do that as they find each other, and in many respects find themselves.

I'm going to be very honest with you all... this book was my favorite by Tara Leigh, and believe me when I say that I loved them all very dearly but there is just something about Dax and Verity that won me over from the start. They were both broken souls trying to make it in a world full of grenades. They each had their own secrets and a past that had broken their hearts and closed them both to the idea of love with someone from the industry or even at all.

Dax was the perfect rockstar hiding his pain behind this persona and vouching to never be envolved with someone in the music biz that is until the princess comes back, Verity Moore and she rocks him to his core at first glance and with every piece of her she gives him, he falls more and more. Verity never had it is easy, she has grown up forced to be someone other than who she really is, forced to do things she wouldn't have if she had another choice. But she is a phoenix rising from her ashes and she's back to make a name for herself the way she wants, and to get her revenge on those who took advantage of her. All the while with Dax by her side, helping her with her problems and her carreer and the music they make together brings them even closer.

Guys, seriously this book was amazing. For me, Tara Leigh just gets better and better with each release and this one really toped them all. I loved it to bits. Dax is my new favorite NBT member and I'm not sure anyone can steal his spot in my heart. And I also have so much love for Verity and how she rose from the ashes and put those who hurt her where they belong. You go girl! These two are both very special and I feel like their story is one that will stay with me forever.

Wow, Dax and Verity are my new favorite couple. Dax and Verity are both damaged by their past, however with the help of each other and their friends they are able to battle their darkness. Dax was so sweet and understanding, I really loved him as our leading man. He never push/forced Verity to talk about what troubled her. He allowed her to open up on her own time and was such an amazing listener. He stood by her with every choice she made, no matter the consequence. I loved Verity as our leading lady. She was damaged, but she did not push Dax away. I loved that. I think that the pace of their love story was just perfect. I applaud the author for speaking on the #metoo movement. I would definitely recommend this book!

This is a story of a bad boy rock star and a woman who was stronger than she thought.

Dax is the bad boy rock star who left his classical music behind in New York while chasing the woman he thought he loved to LA. That is when he became the guitarist for the rock band Nothing But Trouble. It just so happened that the woman he wanted didn’t want him. After this relationship he wanted nothing serious to do with anyone because his heart had been broken beyond repair. Dax put everything into his band and they made it to the top of their game.

Verity was the child star that lived under her momanger and now was ready to break away and try her shot at music which is what she loved to do. The problem was she was still dealing with everything that happened to her while working under her mother. Her mother pushed her to do whatever it took to get the parts which lead her to fame and fortune on a TV show. Now her new career is beginning to take off. Personally, Dax is sending mixed messages to Verity but when she stumbles onto one of his songs things only heat up more for these two.

I love the chemistry between Dax and Verity and with them both heading out on tour things were only going to get better. Verity was also ready to embark on another life changing moment in her life. This is a story of a bad boy rock star and a woman who was stronger than she thought.

The third book of the Nothing But Trouble series is without a doubt my favorite. Not only did the characters charm me but the plot moved fluidly, without a lot of the filler I found in the other books prior. And the story arced at just the right time with an unexpected conflict that was both surprising and fresh. Rock Rebel seemed to give me just a little bit more of what I missing in the prior two books of this series. I found myself ensconced in Dax and Verity. They had interesting back stories and the connection between them leapt from the pages. This author glued them together unassumingly and fortified their connection through their shared love of music in a beautifully endearing way. I think readers, because I know I was, will be just as surprised as the two main characters at how easy these two fit within each others realms.

It's an honest look at the grind rock star and Hollywood life can be on the soul all the while maintaining truth between these two vibrant characters. Tara Leigh makes certain you realize the strain this glamorous life takes on those who break through in it. She also relates her flawed heroine to the current happenings in Hollywood in an astonishingly dark way that makes you feel deeply for her and for the current climate of our culture and the women in it. I think that was the most influential part to me. How Verity is most definitely flawed but she was also wronged. The strength she garners and the change she makes because of it are inspiring. And the way Dax responds to that gives us hope that there are men out their willing to fight for women to stand on their own independence with pride. Tara Leigh made this about more than the characters, her writing cultivated a deeper issue in which I feel deeply for and that made this book all the better.

Additionally, all the people you've grown to love in the Nothing But Trouble world recur here in the best of ways making Dax and Verity's story more full. Even if this is your first book of the series it easily reads as a standalone but you'll be spoiled on the events of the prior two books. I recommend to readers who enjoy rock star romance.

I do not have enough words to describe everything that this story made me feel, from the first pages it enveloped my soul, it owned my heart and made me completely addicted to its words, I am seriously obsessed with the characters, gahhh, I have been thinking for three days in them. This couple stole my heart.

Through a steady rhythm and lyrical prose the author hooked the readers in the story of the characters. Verity is such a brave girl, so strong, she has had to survive quite tough situations and she has been accompanied by a stigma that pigeonholes her into something that she is not. My heart squeezed several times for her.

Dax, oh God, is completely perfect, I fell completely in love at his feet from the first moment, because in addition to being a sexy rock star (we know that only that adds up all the points) he is so sweet, he made me sigh many times , his details for Verity, ahhhhh, he's so perfect!!

The chemistry between both practically radiates from the pages, it's perfect, their scenes are charged with intense attraction and so passionate, their scenes of sex more than sex are deep emotional connections that I felt in my heart and had me reading as if my life depended on It, made my soul sigh, it provoked goosebumps, it accelerated my heart and stopped my breathing, they were completely and absolutely perfect.

Mrs. Leigh captivated me, the story caught me and I do not want to leave it ... I want to stay with the characters and live with them. Because it is not just a story about a rock star, this story goes beyond touching important topics of reading.

Also, I need to read the other two books in the series, because I loved the secondary characters and I need to know their stories, I loved the relationship of the characters in the band, it felt like a family. That wonderful epilogue was the perfect closing.

This is definitely, one of my favorite stories of this year, it is sexy, epic, emotional, intense, passionate and has some twists that left me in shock. It is definitely a MUST READ. YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS IT.

Rock Rebel is book three in the Nothing But Trouble series by Tara Leigh. Everyone knows how I fall in love with the heroes of the books I read time and time again. But in this book, it’s not the hero I fell in love with. Yes, I loved him too, but it’s the heroine that dug into my heart. That I was thinking about when I wasn’t reading. I hope you’ll read on and let me tell you about Verity and Dax.

Verity
/ˈverədē/
a true principle or belief, especially one of fundamental importance.
"the eternal verities"
• truth.
"irrefutable, objective verity"

Verity Moore was a childhood TV star. She lived with her Mom/manager who controlled everything concerning Verity, including all of the money she earned. Verity was expected to do whatever it took to be a success. But after three seasons, the show was cancelled. At that point, Verity was of age so she took off, finally free, trying to figure out who she was. Things might have gotten a little wild, she made a few mistakes. But now she is in Los Angeles and is ready to start fresh. She has a chance to do what she’s always wanted to do, sing. And she has the chance to be managed by the same manager, Travis Taggert, who manages the famous band, Nothing But Trouble.

Dax Hughes is the lead guitarist for Nothing But Trouble. Dax grew up a child prodigy. He could play any musical instrument you put in his hands. He was raised to play classical music, studied at Julliard. But when who he thought was the love of his life left, he chased her to Los Angeles where he met the band and found a whole new way to express his music. The rest is history. Dax’s heart never recovered. He doesn’t trust. He definitely doesn’t get involved with female musicians. But when he came face to face with Verity for the first time, the electricity was crazy. The chemistry off the charts. Run, part of him screamed. But the other part of him wanted to stay and figure out who this woman was.

“You make me want to know what it’s like to want, just as much as I’m wanted. To take, just as much as I’m giving.”

This is Verity’s chance to make it big. And now she is being offered to tour with Nothing But Trouble as their opening act. She can’t get Dax off her mind. But if she gives in to this attraction, the world will think she was given this chance because she slept her way in. She can’t take that chance, no matter how badly she wants him.

“I wanted to watch Verity blaze a path across the sky like the shooting star she was destined to be. But I knew exactly what would happen if I got too close. I’d be incinerated.”

Dax does everything he can to stay away. But he just can’t. He’s tired of fighting whatever it is between them. He doesn’t feel worthy of her. He sees everything good in her, both with her talent and what is on the inside. Whatever it is between them, he needs it to survive.

“What if Dax was just another devil in disguise?”

Verity is so ashamed of her past. She has been used by every single person that has been in her life. But on a deep level, she knows that Dax is different. That he sees her as a woman, not a commodity.

Okay, I’ll stop here. I loved watching these two fall for each other and break down each other’s walls. They both had so many secrets, so much darkness. Verity had been so badly used and hurt. I also want to sing all the praises to Travis Taggert, the manager. This man is a saint.

The time line of this book runs parallel with book two, Piper and Landon’s story. But you can also read this as a stand alone. Enough information is given that you wouldn’t be lost. You just would miss out on the amazing stories of Shane and Landon. I loved getting updates on the other two couples in this book, especially Shane and Delaney. This was such a beautiful book and I loved it like crazy. Verity (and Dax) will long live in my heart. This author has become one of my favorite authors and I can’t wait to see what she does next.

“Two souls with just enough wrongs to make everything right.”

After returning to L.A. the main charter goes to Travis tagger concert and belts our songs hoping to catch him as client. Her career is in trouble and desperately needs clients.I couldn't find a connection to the main character and her career.

I knew Dax was going to make me cry! He is the perfect blend of hard, soft, and broody all rolled into one. I found both Verity and Dax needed each other. Even though their stories couldn’t be any different together they were able to support one another. I hate that there is even a reason for Verity’s story to be believable. Her emotions so real and moving. I loved Dax, I couldn’t wait for his story. I knew once he let Verity in, he would be wide open! Loved loved loved it!

Oh Tara Leigh you slayed it with Rock Rebel!!! This is book 3 in the Nothing But Trouble series and Dax's story. He is the bassist for the rock band Nothing But Trouble. He's not your typical rock star though, he's classically trained and he isn't a man whore. He's actually rather vulnerable, which is a nice change from the usual. He's the quiet member of the band, who stays to himself. That is until disgraced pop star Verity Moore comes into the picture. God I loved her!! She is a former child star, with a momanger. She had no childhood and went through some really horrible things but she wasn't broken. She is stronger for what she went through.

This book!!! It's just everything. It has all the feels, it's poignant and emotional, steamy and at times humorous. It's one of those books that you can't stop thinking about when you're finished. It is definitely one of my top favorite reads of 2018.

Awesome! I loved it so much! Verity is definitely my favorite heroine of this series. She has a lot to prove but she definitely succeeds. Dax is perfect in my eyes! I really loved these two's chemistry. So hot it almost burned up my kindle! I thought for sure I was having hot flashes lol. Their banter was sometimes heated and they did butt heads a lot but you know these two are perfect together.
I was so happy with this book and how everything turned out. This series just seems to get better the more I read it. I so can't wait for more!

Perfect for fans of rock star romances. This time both the hero/heroine are the musicians. Tara Leigh writes with heat and heart.

Well… I wish I had the words to explain how much I loved Rock Rebel… I am seriously obsessed with Dax and Verity…
This book runs somewhat concurrently with Rock Legend… So, you get a little of Piper in it… 😊
Verity Moore, ‘disgraced teen pop star’… This chic has had a raw deal at every turn, in my opinion… A mother that does not deserve the title. A producer with no morals. An ex-boyfriend who was just plain despicable… She picks herself up by the high heels and does an impromptu performance at one of Travis’ house parties… Nothing but Trouble was there as well… Travis takes her on as his newest client and you know, since you have probably read Rock Legend, she is joining the NBT tour…
Dax… Dax… Dax… LOVE this guy… He was burned and burned bad by his ex. He has allowed her to affect his life in SO many ways… But… he feels such a pull to Verity. One he continually runs from…
This book hit me all in the feels. I laughed. I cried. I hurt for both of them, but Verity specifically. I love them… Tara Leigh has such a talent to make you FEEL what her characters feel. Her words are magic…
I highly recommend this series, start at Rock King and then Legend then Rebel… I am eagerly awaiting Jett’s book! Read this…

Note: While this book is awesome, it does focus on the #metoo movement, so recognize there might be some triggers. It is done very effectively and it is not brutally in your face but there is some abuse of power and implied rape.

*****DISCLAIMER*****
This book may contain triggers for some. Let's just say that #METOO is an important element and if you're a survivor, some descriptions may be hard for you to read.

O.M.G.!!!!! This! This has literally ALL THE FEELS!!! After I read the first book in the series, I was hooked. I'm not sure how I missed the second book (trust me, I'll be reading it because I clearly missed some awesomeness), I couldn't wait to get my hands on this one. And Oh. My. GOODNESS!!!!!!!

Verity Moore is a washed up child actress who wants a come back. Ok, not just a come back, she wants to completely start over. She never really wanted to be an actress. That was something that her momager forced on her. No...she wanted to be a singer. A star. But that's not exactly what happened. Nope. After becoming the disgraced pop princess (a title given to her after her TV show failed), she knew the road to starting over would be hard. But dang...it seems like the past just keeps rearing it's ugly head.

Dax Hughes is the guitarist for Nothing but Trouble. He's also the classically trained, plays just about an instrument, writes his own music, but has his own past to deal with kind of guy. After leaving his families musical group, following a woman to LA, he literally stumbles in to the band. But he hasn't quite dealt with his past either. And now that he's found a girl he actually can see a future with, his past and future collide in a way he never thought possible.

This!!!! You will honestly go through every emotion reading this book. I laughed, cried, threw the book and then held on for dear life. The undoubtable chemistry between Dax and Verity played out so perfectly. Although the attraction was obviously there from the beginning, it blossomed over time. Only making it that much more...you know? And OMG, that twist. That freaking twist!!!! Holy mole, I didn't even see that coming. And then the other twist?!!! Brilliant writing....just brilliant.

I'm a little sad and confused though....seems like we might not get Jett's story? Or will we?????

I'm becoming a big fan of Leigh's books. This book just sealed the deal. There was so much emotion going into this story. You could feel the heartbreak of Verity's life. Dax had a lot insecurities, but like Verify should of had. She didn't let all the wrong that was done to her, or by her, make her weak. It made stronger.

I would liked to see what happened between her mother and herself, but that is the drama queen in me talking.

4.5 stars Rock Rebel is the 3rd book in Tara Leigh’s Nothing but Trouble rockstar series and this is Dax’s story. Based off the blurb, I mistakenly assumed that story would be predictable, but there were so many twists and turns. I found myself completely shocked by some of the revelations revealed throughout the book. . . Things that I didn’t see coming.

Dax is the classically trained lead guitarist of NbT who is an alpha hero, but with a bit of vulnerability as his heart has been trampled on in the past and he fears getting involved with anyone in the industry. I couldn’t help, but love him. He was so kind, loving, and supportive of Verity. Verity is a survivor. She is trying to breakaway from her past as a child star with a ruined reputation and make it in the music world based off her own talent and merits. Both characters brought out the good in each other and made the perfect couple. They each had strengths and weakness and they were not afraid to own up to them. The heat between the two of them was palpable, but the sex scenes were not over the top or too frequent during the book.

The author does touch upon the hot topic of the #metoo movement and it is evident that she did her research. She did a great job of addressing it in a nonjudgmental, respectful manner.

I enjoyed getting to read more about the characters from the previous books - especially Piper and I am hoping that Jett gets his own book. I also loved the extended epilogue. Rock Rebel was an entertaining read with well-developed likable characters that moved at a good pace and had surprising revelations as well as a HEA with no cliffhanger. I received this book as an ARC and I voluntarily leave this review.
