My son loves Spy School and has listened to them all multiple times. Spy Ski School and British Invasion are his two favorites. I got this to read with him and I buy all of these books for my school library.
My son told me about this book series. He loves it and now so do I. I need to read them all in order. Its a fun, smart read.
Spy School British Invasion is book six in Stuart Gibbs’ Spy School series.
Summary: Ben almost captured the leaders of SPYDER in book five, but unfortunately, they are still on the loose. Now he and his friends must travel to Europe-hoping to finally capture SPYDER’s leaders, and put an end to their evil plans. It won’t be easy, but Ben is determined to make it happen-if he doesn’t get killed in the process.
My Thoughts: I loved this book. It picks up right where book five left off, and the action never stops. Helicopters, double-crosses, explosions, and movie-worthy chase scenes across Europe only add to the excitement in this book. It is definitely worth the read, and the whole series is worth buying.
The only let-down is that I finished reading, and must patiently (or not so patiently) await the next book.
To solve my waiting woes, I am re-reading the entire series to my kids (we are currently in book three.) Even The Hubby has started listening to these on audiobook, and you know when you can find a series the entire family enjoys, you have a winner.
This book was fantastic, and I sincerely thank Simon and Schuster for providing me with a free digital copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. Thank you!
I keep hearing people say they think Stuart Gibbs’ career is going downhill, but I think his books are still great!!! I still can’t believe I managed to get an ARC of this book💜💜 I had a fun time reading it and I would definitely recommend it.
I loved the mystery of who ran SPYDER and knowing that we’d find out. I also had fun meeting Orion, reading about Alexander Hale, and seeing Europe through Ben’s eyes.
One thing I did have a problem with, though, is how well Ben knew the different parts of France. Whenever they passed another popular tourist spot, Ben would mention he’d always wanted to go. He’s a 12-year-old boy and he knew more about Europe than anybody else in my school. I highly doubt Ben would know half the places he wanted to go to if he was real.
Also, something happens to Joshua Hallal in the end that disturbed me a bit. Okay, a lot actually. If you’ve read the book, message me and tell me what you think!
I can’t wait to see what the next book has in store for us😆
After seeing the interest in books by Stuart Gibbs, from students at my school, this is the first one I have read. I thought the plot moved along nicely with plausible action, and would be great for 4th and 5th graders who like adventure stories. There is the awkward boy-girl relationship between Ben and Zoe, which is similar to what students of this age go through.

I had a great time reading Spy School: British Invasion. The characters were good, and the villains were truly diabolical. This group of young spies found themselves on another mission, and it quickly became their toughest one yet. Taking down this evil organization was going to be challenging, especially when something happens that makes them look like the bad guys. It was a tale full of action, mystery, suspense, comedy and some cool surprises towards the end. If you are a fan of spy stories then this is a book you might want to check out.
Ben Ripley. once again, will provide my 4th-5th elementary school patrons with a delightful and exciting plot. He and his henchmen will stop at nothing to defeat the Spyder organization, a clever and devious foe.
What sets Gibbs's books apart is the humorous and entertaining manner he employs to keep his readers guessing as to how they will ultimately manage to survive the many obstacles in their path.
I guarantee this latest addition will be in demand as all the others are.
This was my first experience with the Spy School series and while this tale of Ben and his friends chasing after Mr. E with MI-6 was entertaining, I think there was a lot of character development missed by not reading the other books. On its own though, this was still an entertaining read.
Thank you NetGalley and Simon and Schuster Children's Publishing for the opportunity to read an advance reader copy.
My son has read the entire series of this book and insisted that I give it a try. It has just the right amount of action mixed with life so that you can almost believe that it could happen to you. I read the first one and really enjoyed it- so much so that I wanted to give this one a read. Thank you, NetGalley for my copy of this book. In this latest installment of Spy School, Ben ditches the CIA for MI-6. Ben Ripley and his friends from Spy School go on the treacherous journey to capture Mr. E, the head of an evil organization called SPYDER.
The gang ends up in Paris, in the catacombs tracking down their nemesis. The mission is dangerous and will have them risking their lives to bring down this evil organization. This book is perfect for fans of middle grade who enjoy twists and turns. It will keep you turning the pages
This is the latest installment in Stuart Gibbs, Spy School Series, and readers will not be disappointed.
The story begins right where the last book ended at Aquarius waterpark in Mexico with our crew of super spies once again trying to thwart Spider, the evil organization. With nonstop action and more twists than the waterslides in Aquarius, you will be glued to your book until you find out if our heroes can once again save the world and graduate from spy school.
When I read this book, the world around me faded out and I was sucked into the world of spies. There are lots of spy series that aren’t good for kids, but this series is one created just for us. It is full of humor, adventure, and characters who could be your classmates. I highly recommend this book.
This book was received as an ARC from Simon and Schuster Children's Publishing-Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.
I am a huge fan of the spy school series and have read all 6 books. When I saw this book and seen that it is a British invasion, I knew I had to jump at the chance to read it. Ben Ripley does it again getting himself into trouble adding a whole new adventure that is just as remarkable as the first 6 with one intention in mind, bringing down the notorious SPYDER organization and defeating them for good. Stuart Gibbs brings forth his outrageous sense of humor and engaging playfulness that will make this the ultimate book to read for young readers of all ages. We know our readers would want to read this book right away.
We will consider adding this title to our JFiction collection at our library. That is why we give this book 5 stars.
Stuart Gibbs' Spy School series is one of my favorites to recommend to my 5th graders who love action and mystery without all the over the top blood and gore. He gives readers plenty of crash and bang, coupled with cool techie spy gadgets and an entirely likable cast of heroes...and some unlikeable villains! I've been reading middle grade and YA lit for a long time and I continue to be impressed with Gibbs' ability to throw in some surprises that, while unexpected, make total sense, as well as his clear descriptions that allow students to visit places like Mexico, Washington, D.C. and London all with the turn of a page. His effort to expand the vocabulary of his fans is obvious as words like morose, affirmation, formidable, and perusing were used in "British Invasion" with an abundance of context clues to help readers comprehend meaning. Unfortunately kids are not likely to look up words like bespoke, vertiginous, fomenting and facade when there are not strong context present. I have already placed this book 7 on my last 2019 book order for both my 4th and 5th grade campuses and recommend it highly and with no warnings about potentially controversial content to teachers, librarians, and care-givers of readers in grades 4-6, and possibly even through grade 8. I am hopeful that since not all loose ends were neatly tied up that there will be a book 8 in the adventures of young spies in training Ben, Erica, Zoe and Mike.
I really liked it. Would 100% recommend. It’s better to read the series in order though because you’d understand the development of the characters better.
My son and I have been reading this series from the beginning so I grabbed at the chance to get an advance copy to read and review. This book was a lot of fun. These books are action packed, with humor and great friendships. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series. Highly recommend!
