A feel good book. This the first I have read in this series but I didn't feel like I needed to read the others first, I found this book very enjoyable and I like Gloria she was a very likable character, the book was a great escape and such an easy read.
As romance goes this book - The Wedding Planner - was a delightful book I quite enjoyed.
This is definitely one of those books that makes you feel good inside. Overall the characters are relatable and the storyline is easy to follow.
This was a cute book but felt lost by not reading to other 2 books 1st.. It was a bit stale in some parts but it did end up picking up for me in the end
I really appreciated how the author provided a character guide at the beginning of the book. It is so helpful, especially since this book is part of a series.
I thought I’d enjoy this book based on the synopsis, but unfortunately couldn’t get passed the inner monologues and Gloria’s character. I found it hard to read from the lens of a character who needed a lot of growth. I did like that she was able to grow and change her perspective, but I had a hard time rooting for her, and wish there were less inner monologues.
I appreciate being considered to review this book, it just wasn’t for me.
Loved this story and have all in this series so far and enjoyed this story as much as the others and look forward to the next one and revisiting the characters we know and love. Like the place very much and the people
A lovely read, immerse yourself in a different world, if only for a while. Couldn’t put this book down.
The Wedding Planner is the third book by Eve Devon that is set in Whispers Wood, however it is the first one that I have read. A great feature of this book was that there was a character list at the beginning which ran down all the people you needed to know.
I have to say that I didn’t fall in love with this book. I’m not sure that if I had read the previous books and got to know the characters whether I would have enjoyed this more. I think being invested in their stories would have helped.
I found the lead characters Gloria quite frustrating, especially as the beginning. I couldn’t warm to her however I did like witnessing the journey she goes on throughout the book, realising that maybe she can move forward in a more positive way.
What I did really like was the relationship between her and her friends Emma, Kate and Juliette. From what I can gather they are returning characters and all work at The Clock House. In this book Emma is getting married and asks the three girls to be her bridesmaids….and for Gloria to be one of her wedding planners alongside the groom’s brother, Seth.
I enjoyed the story that was being told I just didn’t warm to Gloria, and as the lead character, it meant I struggled to get into the book. But this features some great characters and relationships and who can’t beat a good romantic wedding.
Unfortunately I had to purchase a new Kindle device and could no longer access this book. I will come back and review if I read this in the future.
Unfortunately, I was unable to read this book due to a formatting issue.
My review is based on the blurb.
Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this title.
I love a sweet, simple romance and this one fit the bill. I loved the characters and read this one in a cozy afternoon!
This book takes us on another visit to Whisper Woods. Whilst you don't have to have read the previous 2 books, I think it helps because then it adds a different dimension as you really get a deeper feel for the characters. It is a fantastic book full of love, hurt, and humour!
So I know this is a heart warming romance but I have to tell you that this book had me laughing out loud more times then I want to admit. I don't know what made it funny exactly there isn't one bit that makes this funny. It could be Gertrude (you'll know when you read the book) or it could be the things that Gloria says. Whatever it is, it works!
This book really showed you different Characters point of view, so you really got to step into their shoes. Now it didn't do this too much where it takes your eye off our main couple, Gloria and Seth. Eve had a way of giving you another persons point of view on what was going on with them to add tension. Making you want to keep reading to find out more but at the same time wanting to get back to Seth and Gloria.
One thing I absolutely adored was a few very subtle hints to TV and Films. Now I say subtle because it would be the main catchphrase from a TV show or a line from a movie. It was done in such away that fit in well with the book but if you know, you know. I absolutely loved the two I saw and it has me wondering is there any more?
I found this book really grabbed the readers attention to the point that it made it so easy to get stuck into. I mean I read the book in one sitting, absolutely and totally absorbed in the story from start to finish.
So my overall thoughts are that I completely loved this book! I found that while working my way through the book I really wanted to read and find out more about the other characters in the book. The best part is this is actually the third one in a series, so I know need to go buy the others. Now this can be read as a stand alone book. Let me know if you give this book a shot and what you think.
Eagerly anticipated third in the series, I really enjoyed this. A warm and witty read, this did not disappoint.
Thank you to NetGalley and to the publisher for allowing me to read a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Another fantastic book by Eve Devon! The wedding planner is the third book in the whispers wood series and it did not disappoint. I disliked gloria a lot in the first two books but it proves you shouldn't judge a person as you dont know what they have been through. I grew to love gloria and had so much respect for her character. Her and seth were a fantastic couple. I loved that the story allowed me to visit whispers wood and find out what was happening with the rest of the characters from the previous books. If you are a fan of friends or the Gilmore girls then you will absolutely adore this book (I recommend reading the first two in the series first though so you can get to know the characters). Another funny, witty and charming book by Eve Devon, I cannot wait to read the fourth book in the series.
Enjoyed this story from the beginning to the end. I liked every minute of this book. Couldn't put it down. Go get it.
An enjoyable read really enjoyed the story, was unsure at first as I had never read anything by this another but I would definitely read more and recommend
The Wedding Planner was a fun, heartwarming read.
Gloria Pavey says what's on her mind, whether she should or not. She's trying to change, getting the help of a therapist but she sometimes reverts back to her old self. She is trying to adjust to her life as a divorcee and not wanting to get involved or married again.
Seth Knightley returns home after being gone for a number of years. When the two of them are asked by his brother and her friend Emma to plan their wedding they get to know each other better. Seth was a dream. So lovable...even Gloria tries not to give in.
The village of Whisper Woods is full of fun, quirky characters, one of which is a cow, and it was a delight to get to know some of them. I have not read the previous books in this series but they are now on my to-be-read list.
I received an advanced readers copy from NetGalley for an honest review.
For the love of chick lit, this was a good one. Perfect beach read. Light, sweet with a touch of humor. Thanks NetGalley for allowing me to read this book in exchange for an honest review!
3.5 stars.
Good to see the Whispers Wood residents back again this time Jake and Emma are getting married!!! The chandelier in the Clock House worked its magic on them but who is next to succumb???
Gloria is trying her hardest to change and be less spiky but it’s a work in progress. Seth is trying to prove himself to his brother. Kate and Daniel are ... well ... Kate and Daniel. Juliet and Oscar want to start a family of their own except it just hasn’t happened yet. And in the midst of all this there is a wedding to plan.
An enjoyable book but some aspects of the story seemed a bit drawn out and others weren’t really explored fully. Perhaps these will be covered in the next book.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an advanced read copy of this book in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.
Hilarious, cute, cute and heart warming. A summer read. I didn’t read the first book in the series so it is a good stand alone. I will have to go back and read. I think a good choice.
