A solid continuation of the series, and interesting to watch it diverge from the TV show. Recommended for any fan of the show.
What can anyone say but a superb sequel to the worldwide phenom of Killing Eve. Luke Jennings does it again!
Thank you so much to Net Galley for an ARC copy for review.
I am the one who hates the series, the serial story or punch-out plots but Luke surprised me. The book is not the sane as the show so you can enjoy them both and there is no let down here other than I wish it would have been a little longer.
I did not read the first book but say the first season of the show. From what I gathered reading this book, they would have been quite different. This was quite good but I'm curious to see the different spin the show takes for season two. I'm not sure which story arc I'll end up liking more.
I received a free e-galley from netgalley.com.
I enjoyed this one much more than the first four novellas. I think the story of Eve and Villanelle works better as a full length novel. For those watching the TV show who are eager to see more of these two, I would recommend it as the ending is fairly satisfying in a way the show hasn’t quite been yet.
This is a terrific follow up to Killing Eve. Even though this is supposedly a thriller/spy book, it is more a character study of being a spy at hunting a spy. The story is really about the relationship between the two women. Everything else around them is just window dressing. Like the first one, this installment keeps the reader guessing until and at the end. When do we get a third book?
For those of you who haven't read the first book in this series I encourage you to do so. If you haven't seen the first season of Killing Eve I encourage you to do so. This is the first time I have ever enjoyed a book and a TV series based on its characters.
As I eagerly await the second season of the show which begins this month, I was thrilled beyond belief to read the second book in this series and discovering that it is as good if not better than the first. If you are looking for a wonderfully intricate story line please add this to your to read list. You won't regret it.
Highly recommended!
I confess I never knew the wildly popular TV series was based on a book. I love the series, and I’m sure a lot of it is down to the amazing cast and crew, so I wasn’t sure what to expect from the book. The reality is that it’s impossible to read this book and not picture the actors who portray the characters on television. And that’s really not a problem, the plotline of this book is consistent to what I saw on BBC America, which is to say it’s damn good. If you like the series, pick up the book, you won’t be disappointed
