I read Intercepted ( the first book ) and I couldn't wait to read another one.
I was not disappointed!
I hope that what's to come from this author is just as engaging.
There where a lot of tough topics discussed in this book but it defiantly wasn't just thrown in and there were context and imagery that made it a whole conversation and not an afterthought.

I loved this book. I was immediately sucked into TK and Poppy's story, and I loved the friendships that developed between all the women characters. I really enjoyed the humor and dialogue, but it also addressed some serious issues that football families have to struggle with, so be prepared for both humor and feels. I highly recommend this book and the Playbook series.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the ARC.

Look, I love this author. Her books are so compulsively readable. Everything in this book is essentially a fairy tale, and I love it! This is the perfect book to read when you're stressed out and want something lovely to escape to. There are real problems in the book, but you know they're going to figure them out. Also, the child in this book is essentially an angel. It's great! De-stress your life and kick back and read.

Poppy and her son, Ace are getting along just fine until Ace's father, TK, a well-known and lusted after football player comes back into Poppy's life. A totally captivating story with great characters.

I cannot recommend this series highly enough. Fumbled as such a wonderful balance of romance and comedy that instead of doing anything that will make my work week easier, I planted my ass on my bed and read my entire day away. I have no regrets.

Poppy, our main character, is simply amazing. She's strong, funny, sassy, and wonderfully awkward--is it wrong that she reminds me of me? So many of the things she thought and said were things I've said, thought, or now have in my arsenal thanks to the great writing of Alexa Martin. I loved how Martin designed her character and her backstory and how nothing went down quite like I expected--it's refreshing to read something that surprises me! As much as I loved Poppy, TK was equally in my heart. Even though we don't know what he's thinking (Poppy is our soul narrator), you could just tell he absolutely adored her and that made me adore him for adoring her. And the secondary characters have me wishing that they were real and I could be friends with them--they were awesome.

I am forever grateful for scrolling through social media, seeing rave reviews of Intercepted, loving it and being lucky enough to have an early look at Fumbled. I wish I could make Alexa Martin's fingers fly faster over the keyboard because I am so eager for what she writes next and am a forever fan!

I think I’ve found my new favorite couple written by Alexa! I was not expecting this to be as good as Intercepted but it is. Poppy is downright hilarious. I love that she is down to earth and doesn’t care about all the glitz and glam. She is raising Ace with the best of her ability and trying to teach him how to be a good man. The reunion with her and TK had me on the edge of my seat. The way he blowed up at her about trying to pin a child on him made me really want to ring his neck but keep flipping the pages. Because I tell you I could not wait until TK seen Ace and realize that he made a huge mistake of an assumption. Then when he sees Ace and the scene where he starts crying when they walk away my heart broke for him. From then on it takes off and you can just see how much love TK has for Poppy!
I loved all of the friends as well. That’s what I enjoy is how even through all the drama Marlee and Poppy end up getting a great set of home girls. Vonnie is the ish and Sadie with all her glitter! Who could not love her? She’s like a glitter unicorn. Lets not forget all the eye rolling as well! I loved it though. It was funny.
Fumbled was a great follow up in this series! I cannot wait to read more of Alexa's book. She is fast becoming one of my favorite authors!

Arc was provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Fumbled was one of those books that has layers on layers and yet still manages to have funny moments and lovely characters. I loved how we got a glimpse into Marlee and Gavin's life, without it taking over the story. These were characters that will stick with me well past finishing the book. We loved working with Alexa on an Instagram story Q&A and would love to do so again!

I enjoyed Intercepted, but Fumbled is on another level. The characters are relatable, the romance is hot, and the conflict is so real and not your typical romance fodder. Poppy and TK are a couple you can't help but root for. They have history, they have chemistry, and they both just seem like such GOOD people.

Alexa Martin is quickly becoming one of those authors I watch so I can hungrily grab each new release before everyone else. I read this book on a flight and would've been totally ok with a longer flight since I was ready to dive into the next couple in this series. Tackled? Quarter-Backed? Whatever the next one is, it's on my TBR list!

Fumbled is a sweet, steamy, hilarious and heart-warming romance with awesome characters and a great plot. Great pacing and I loved the writing style. Now I need to go find Martin’s first book in the series, Intercepted..

Spectacular. An important topic mixed with romance, and a couple you can’t help but root for. What could be better? Nothing, really. I LOVED this book!

At times the plot seemed a little too far fetched and too good to be true, but this was an enjoyable read. While I've never really been a fan of sports romance, the characters were endearing and the plot just gossipy enough to really enjoy.

Rating: 3.5 stars

This was one of those books that teetered between a 3 and 4 star rating for me. The story is very cute, and there were certain aspects that I thought were worthy of note, but there were also a few places it fell short for me.

The main character, Poppy, was great and I loved how down to earth she was. However, I personally did not think that there was enough build up leading to her rekindled romance with TK. He did not have to work very hard to be back in her life, and the attraction between them seemed mostly sexual. I would have loved to see them connect on a deeper level beyond their shared child. I did, however, really like that TK idolized her post-pregnancy body. This really spoke to me, because I have struggled with accepting the permanent changes in my body post-pregnancy, and it made me feel good to see stretch marks, saggy boobs, and a few extra pounds portrayed as desirable and beautiful.

I also don't think that the author ever really provided an explanation as to how TK missed out on the news regarding Poppy's pregnancy. It is implied that this was a machination of his meddling mother, but it was not explained how she got to his text messages before he did. And who was the girl that answered his phone? I suppose we may never know.

This is actually the second book in a series, and I like how the author incorporated characters and storylines from her first book into this one. From early on, it seemed pretty obvious that her next book will focus on a romance between two supporting characters, Maxwell and Brynn, and I think that will be fun.

It should also be noted that the author spent 8 years as an NFL wife, so I assume that her depiction of what life is like for the wives and girlfriends of players is pretty accurate.

I really really enjoyed reading this book! That's the only reason i took only one star off! I really don't like single pov!! I would have loved to have gotten TK side of the story! If I had that this would have been the best book I've read this year! But it's told in just poppy pov which like I said the story was still amazing! I will definitely read more from this author! This is the second book in this series, this is poppy and Tk book, poppy works at a high class night club almost like a strip club but high class lol TK is a wide receiver for the Denver mustangs an NFL team! They were childhood sweethearts but at 16 poppy ends up pregnant and her family kicks her out then some misunderstanding happen and she leaves town! Tk shows up at poppy work ten years later and sparks fly again but poppy has a big secret! I loved how the author used to be involved with the NFL in real life! That really made the story for me! Makes you wonder if some of these things really happened lol definitely don't miss out on this one! It's well worth the read! I'm really glad I found this author! I hope a lot of her books are duel pov I'm not sure how many single pov i can read lol Thank you Netgalley and the publishers for sharing this book with me! Can't wait for more from this author!

Wow! I thought I liked the first book of the Playbook series, Intercepted. But Fumbled…loved it! Completely next level.
Alexa Martin’s female characters’ inner narratives are genuine, funny, and completely in sync with my sense of humor. The history between Poppy and TK, along with their chemistry seems real and springs right off the page. I really like how Martin promotes the value of female friendships in her books. And it’s obvious that she knows all about the footballers wife/girlfriend experience.
I cannot wait until the next book in this series is published. I look forward to reading more by Alexa Martin.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC

Liked the story. Poppy was a great character and loved the positive female friendships. It would have been nice to hear TK's side. It did feel rushed at the end. It wrapped up very quickly and fairly easy.
