Well... They fall in love and there is a happy-ever-after ending, but I have to realise that Leslie North's writing and me are just not compatible.

Whoever writes the "blurbs" for Leslie's books are great though, because, they keep "snaring" me in, and does read as really interesting.

I've received a ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely love this novel. You couldn't help but root for Jess and Alistair. Despite Alistair lost of memories, the connection between the characters are undeniable. I couldn't put this book down. A must read romance novel.

This is the second in the series about the Beaumont brothers that I received on Net Galley. I was very excited to see that the second one was also available after I read the first. It's typical of the romance genre, where you know you are eventually going to get a happy ending, but the journey is half the fun. I have enjoyed both the books in this series and look forward to the third.

Alistair Beaumont has gone to Austria to ski while his assistant Jess Green is interviewing young women looking for a fiance for him. He needs one to meet the stipulation in his grandfather's will to marry within a year to keep the Seattle business. He likes his freedom and and can't be bothered with long term commitment. Alistair has a skiing accident and Jess is the one called. He has temporarily lost his memory. She shows up to tell him they are engaged. This can only work for so long. Can they build a relationship while he is not aware of the deception?

I like the fact that every Leslie North book I read doesn’t draw things out with needless information. Another great, quick read. Really liked Jess and Alistair and the fact that for him, his feelings for Jess weren’t really out of the blue, he’s shared them with his brother. My only criticism would be why did she have to be a virgin? A great book though.

As an assistant, Jessica Green (Jess) is put in an awful and tough position when her boss, Alistair Beaumont, needs a girlfriend and needs one fast. After Alistair’s grandfather passed away, his two brothers and himself had just eighteen months to be married after his passing. Ifnot, they will lose their business. With the work ethic that Jess has, she made it her mission to find the perfect girl. Interviewing tons of girls, she finally finds one that is the perfect fit and meets all of his qualifications.

After leaving for a last minute ski trip in Austria, Alistair gets into an accident which results in a minor head injury and some memory loss. Jess stops everything and get on a plain to Austria. While on the plane Jess call’s one of Alistair’s brothers to inform him of what is going on. He suggests that she pretends to be his Fiancé.

I really enjoyed this book. You could really tell that Jess was conflicted throughout the entire story, she knew what she was doing was wrong but thought it was the best and only option for Alastair. This book was a breath of fresh air.

I enjoyed Jess and Alistair’s chemistry and felt that they both balanced out each other, even when the truth came to the surface. This is a fun, steamy, adventurous and full of passion. It easily kept my attention and when I wasn't able to read it, I was thinking about what might happen next. Overall it is well written and very enjoyable to read! I give it a 4.5 out of 5 stars!!

A big thank you to NetGalley and Relay Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is the second in a series, but reads well as a stand alone. Alistair has amnesia and Jess is his admin and you can guess the rest. I was a little disappointed in Jess's lack of adventure!! Lol As usual this is a quick run entertaining read. I rate it 3.5 stars.

Alistair was Jess’s boss and he needed a girlfriend A S A P . It was Jess’s task to find him a fake one. Alistair was too disinterested and too busy himself. Jess micromanages every part of Alistair’s life now including his love life. Alistair had a rotating door of women in his calendar and dinner reservations; almost none of them appeared twice. Jess’s path was clear: stay employed, stash away money and no relationships period. Her job was her boyfriend and would stay that way for a long time. Alistair’s fake relationship has to be believed by his grandmother the family’s staunch matriarch. If his grandmother sold his grandfather's shares in the company it would fold according to Alistair. Alistair’s unorthodox approach to work and hiring process was totally frustrating Jess. But at the same time she a mere H S graduate with an incredible knack for micromanaging and just enough smarts to fake a college degree slipped through the cracks. There was no way she could make the same salary if Jess worked outside of B3 Engines. If Jess lost her job she couldn’t get herself back to college. Then Jess got a call from a man with a German accent. Alistair was in Austria and had been in an accident and someone needed to get there as soon as possible. Then she listened to the hospital liaison : ski accident, head injury, unknown extent of trauma. She needed to find a flight to Austria that night. Alistair had amnesia.he didn’t remember his childhood, his career and his future. When Jess went into Alistair’s hospital room, he didn’t know who she was but he knew that he knew her. She said she was Jess , his fiancee. Alistair’s brother Gregor talked her into showing up and saying she was Alistair's fiance for the company. Jess went for it so she could achieve her dream and become an architect. Jess knew a part of her had longed for Alistair since day one.
I absolutely loved this book. I was hooked from the first page until the last . I loved the author’s description of Austria which I hope to visit this summer. I loved Jess and Alistair together and how they interacted. I read this in one sitting as I didn’t want to put this down. I couldn’t find anything to criticize in this book- happily. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I highly recommend it.

The second book in this series featuring the Beaumont brothers. This one is Alistair - he never wants to settle down, and in order to meet the terms of his Grandfather's will, he gets his assistant Jess to start looking for a wife for him. He just needs to look to be married and then he can divorce and carry on as he was. All changes when he has an accident and loses his memory and Jess pretends to be his finance. Is it the answer to all his problems or just the start of them?

Looking forward to the next book in this series!

The second story in Leslie North’s Beaumont Brothers starts of with a flustered and somewhat annoyed assistant attempting the unenviable task of finding the perfect fake fiancée for her boss, Alistair Beaumont. Alistair has never entertained the thought of marriage and detests that his grandfather has forced him to submit to his will even after death. But his trusty assistant Jess will make everything right and find a suitable woman to play the role until he can rid himself of this farcical ball and chain. But a turn of events is going to make this charade one neither Jess nor Alistair will survive unscathed.

The Billionaire’s False Fiancée has fun moments, deep and touching scenes between Jess and Alistair, and some realistic angst that all combine to set the tone for when reality sets in and Alistair’s memory returns after his accident while skiing. Alistair's feels the utterly betrayed by the farce that Jess has perpetrated and like a sulking child, packs his bags and heads for home. Can they find their way back after Alistair’s brutal dismissal of Jess and her love, or will this be the end?

I like easy flow of this story, the constant struggle Jess had between doing what was right and protecting her and Alistair’s future, and that this unlikely couple finally realised that the feelings they shared in Austria had been silently building for the two years of their professional relationship. Maybe time and distance can heal all wounds, restore hope and save their fractured hearts. Two brothers down and one to go; I’ll now anxiously wait for Connall’s fall from the realm of bachelorhood.

I don’t usually pick up a book in this genre, but on a whim gave it a chance. I was pleasantly surprised to find a well-written book with a good plot and believable characters. At various times I identified with the deceiver and at other times with the deceived. I’m pretty sure this is destined for “Lifetime”.

Jess knows everything there is to know about Alistair. That helps when she's trying to prove that she's his fiance. Alistair's feelings are real, even if he has no memories. I would have liked to see them in the office together. After all this reads like an offic romance.
