Honest review though I received an ARC via Netgalley. Thanks for the free book!

12 year old me would have liked this book much better: there's adventure, swords, ghosts, fairies, trolls, Loki & archeology in it. As I am not the target audience this short and cute read was a bit boring and predictable.

I like books with trickster gods though. Three stars because it amused me. Gift it to your younger siblings or other relatives, it's a nice read.

Archaeologist father goes off on dig in Oklahoma with his son, Ethan. Ethan is left to his own means during the day and discovers a hither to undiscovered world. Trolls and fairies are just part of the new world.

I appreciated having this volume made available for my review. The appeal of this particular book was not evident to me, and if I cannot file a generally positive review I prefer simply to advise the publisher to that effect and file no review at all.
