Cowboy to the Rescue is a good fit for readers looking for a heartwarming story about forgiveness, second chances, and finding love in unexpected places.
I found the story line a bit plain and slow, I couldn't really get into it and gave up in the end. The characters were dull and not very relatable
The first book in a new series Has Jethro Hansen working at keeping his ranch going. The same ranch that his grandfather left him when he passed. He feels guilty because he was left the ranch and his two younger brothers were left out. He also only has little work for them since he cannot pay every single time so they go find jobs elsewhere. He also is dealing with his past and the way he treated his grandfather when he was alive, so now he is working on changing.
Enter Sadie St. Martin who at one time interned for Layla Cox in Denver. Layla is now pregnant and needs help so Sadie is in town to help. She was not expecting a cowboy like Jethro, how he is so determined to do the right thing and asking for suggestions.
Sadie should be thinking about her job back in Denver and that is especially what her parents want. She though continues to think about Jethro and find ways to be with him. When everything finally comes to a decision it is really Jethro and does he want to accept her love into his life? Or will he let her go back to Denver? The characters are all good and this is a very good book.
I do love a good cowboy story and this one was really good, a cowboy with pride and love to give and a heroine who is strong and determined to lead a happy life away from her loving but controlling parents. I loved getting to know Jethro and Sadie two people from totally different backgrounds that meddled and fell in love, make yourself comfortable for this fabulous story.
Jethro Hansen has led a life that certainly has had ups and downs and now he is doing his best to make the ranch that was left to him and his two brothers by their grandfather improve and make a living for them all. To do that his grandfather has requested the help of the local lawyer Layla, who is off on maternity leave and her friend Sadie has stepped in and there is a pull between her and Jethro that is sizzling.
Sadie has a life plan to become partner in a big firm in Denver she is an only child and has a lot of expectations, but when she goes to the town of Marietta to help a friend, she never expects that she will fall for her client Jethro the cowboy who is not only gorgeous on the outside but on the inside as well and that all of her life plans will change for the better.
This is such a feel good, easy read, fabulous characters that were very easy to love, a sensual journey to a HEA that had me turning the pages and woohoo the first in a series so I am looking forward to more in this series and getting to know Nate and Crease. I f you love a good romance and a great cowboy hero with a strong heroine, then this is one I highly recommend.
Cowboy to the Rescue by Ann B. Harrison is book one in "The Hansen Brother" series
and it´s a good one. I like it very much. It´s a little confusing to begin with, but please stick with it, because it´s such a lovely story, about giving people a second chance at redeeming themselves and letting them make a great new life.
It´s also about romance, family and finding your one true love.
COWBOY TO THE RESCUE is Ann B. Harrison’s kick off story in her The Hansen Brothers series set in Marietta, Montana. There is just something about a bad boy working to turn his life around and become a man his grandfather could have been proud of that draws me into the story every single time. Jethro is no exception to that apparent need of mine for a reformed bad boy. Although Jethro and his brothers were indeed some hellraisers in their youth, and maybe the other boys still are in some ways, that isn’t going to stop Jethro from doing his best to make his grandfather’s ranch viable once again. Unfortunately, a reputation like the Hansen brothers have isn’t easily changed in the views of the people of Marietta overnight. It’s going to take some hard work, changed attitudes and patience on his part to get others to see his desire to keep his grandfather’s legacy alive. But this is one determined man who just got the jolt of his life when meeting Sadie in his lawyer’s office. This is a woman who could further change his life… if he can convince her to take a chance on a reformed bad boy and stay.
Sadie is the daughter of wealthy, politically inclined parents. She’s always followed a path that they approved of, never veering from what she saw as expected of her. Yet, her decision to come to Marietta, Montana to help her friend and former boss during her maternity leave might be the first step off of that path. Being attracted to a client is another, but Jethro brings out wants in Sadie that she never knew she had. She took this job not only to help Layla but to figure out her own future moves… maybe she’s found that answer in one reformed bad boy cowboy who sees who she could be if she lets herself veer from that path into their future.
I enjoyed COWBOY TO THE RESCUE on many levels… except there isn’t much Marietta in a Marietta, Montana based story, but frankly, I always find that in this author’s stories. Not intended as a rude comment, simply an observation. Jethro and Sadie couldn’t be more opposite in many things if they tried, yet they do have things that bind them and that shows. They worked as a couple, believable and relatable. I liked them, and as the series continues I hope to get some updates on them as well as the other brothers’ stories. If you enjoy anything remotely related to one amazing small town in Montana, love those opposites attract stories that feed your emotions or simply love a good cowboy romance then you’ll enjoy this one. I’m definitely looking forward to the rest of this series, and would not hesitate to recommend this one to any Romance reader.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
My first read by this author but definitely not my last. Ms Harrison brings us the eldest of the Hansen Brothers in this story and weaves a tale leaving you waiting to see what comes next. I will be looking out for book two and be exploring other books by this author
Cowboy to the Rescue by Ann B. Harrison is book number one in the Hansen Brothers series. This is Jethro Hansen and Sadie St. Martin’s story.
I liked the characters especially Jethro’s. There was just something special about him. This was a fun and enjoyable story.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
A story set in Marietta, Montana brings together two people with great differences in their past, but both making changes in their lives. I love small town romance stories and throw in a cowboy with a bit of checkered past and I am hooked. Now I have to buy more books by Ann B. Harrison!
I received an advance copy from the publisher in exchange for my open, honest review.
Such an incredible story of love, family and community in the small town of Marietta, Montana! Jethro Hanson is a humble, hard-working Cowboy trying to make his Grandfather's rach work. Sadie St. Martin is in town filling in a lawyer for her friend Layla. When Sadie and Jethro get together will the world's they come from be too different to make a go of it? Worth the read!
Someone else’s expectations or even your own can turn and twist your life until you must finally decide whose expectations are what matter. Such is the dilemma Sadie St. Martin finds herself when she takes a temporary fill-in job at her mentor and friend’s office in Marietta. Her parents are charting a course for her that she does not necessarily want, especially after she comes to love the town and a certain hard scrapple rancher. His life is hard but simple: work to make his family ranch profitable while gaining respect in the community. He represents a different life to Sadie, one she longs for and yearns to have.
Cowboy to the Rescue is a wonderful read with characters you will come to love.
Sadie is asked to go and cover her friend and old boss Layla's law practice whilst she is on maternity leave.
Sadie meets Jethro as he comes in to see Layla, but when he gets there Layla goes into Labour and both he and Sadie have to rush Layla into the hospital and stay with her while she gives birth.
Sadie and Jethro become allies, but it soon turns into more. The problem is that Sadie has had her life mapped out for years and wants to be a flash corporate lawyer and a small town is not in her future, but will she change? Will she and Jethro last the distance?
I really enjoyed this book, but i didnt love it. It needed a few more chapters tacked on the end and not having read any of the previous books i do feel as though i have missed out on a lot of backstory.
This book will make you want to move to Montana to find a cowboy of your own. It is an opposites attract with sizzling chemistry between the two main characters. You have Sadie St. Martin, a lawyer from a prominent family in Denver and Jethro Hansen, a cowboy with a rundown ranch that he is trying to bring back to life to make his grandfather proud. It is a fun story and it is interesting to see the obstacles that will get in their way of a happy ever after. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
A good easy read about two people trying to start fresh. Jethro Hansen is working hard to get his family ranch financially sound again. After his misspent youth it's the least he can do. Sadie St. Martin is temporarily in Marietta to run her friends law firm while she's out on maternity leave. A relationship isn't something either Jethro or Sadie is looking for. He has other things to worry about and she's only here temporarily. Yet sometimes the thing you think you don't want is exactly what you need.
I'd recommend this one.
Set in Marietta Montana, Cowboy to the Rescue is the first in Ann Harrison’s new Hansen Brothers series. This story brings together dirt poor cowboy Jethro Hansen, the oldest of the three brothers, and wealthy, up and coming lawyer Sadie St Martin. On paper you couldn’t pair two less suited people, but this is a story and this pair works well together.
Jethro and his two brothers have had a tough life growing up, having had their father walk out on them when they were barely more than babies, and their mother die when Jethro was only seven. Raised by their grandfather, the boys got into more trouble than they should have and have a dreadful reputation for drinking and fighting. Despite his reputation, Jethro had made amends with his grandfather before he died and he’s now doing his best to get his struggling ranch into shape. He’s a decent hardworking man and I loved that Sadie saw his finer qualities from the start.
Sadie has grown up as the only child of a very wealthy and politically successful couple, and was expected to have a successful legal career at a prestigious firm and make an advantageous society marriage. She’s gone with the flow all her life, working hard to achieve her goals, but is pleasantly surprised to discover that she loves small town life and that struggling cowboy Jethro is just the man for her.
This has been a relaxing story to read. It was a bit predictable in spots and I didn’t quite match the dialogue with the characters involved a lot of the time - the words just didn’t quite seem right, but overlook those few personal objections and this was a lovely book.
Cowboy to the Rescue is the first of the Hansen Brothers books by Ann B. Harrison. I almost thought I had remembered the boys getting into trouble in another Marietta, Montana story but could not place it. Their reputation is tarnished to say the least but the oldest Jethro is restoring the ranch and his life now. That is what I liked best about this book. Here is a man who has wised up, now putting the effort and elbow grease into living up to his new found wisdom.
What it didn’t have a lot of is the Marietta setting though the story takes place there it could happen in any western small town area. While I would have liked a visit to Sage’s, it is not a deal breaker for me to like the story. On the other hand, Sadie St. Martin did take a while to warm up too liking. She is definitely the good girl to Jethro bad boy image but she is more afraid than good. I didn’t quote believe that she was the shark in the court room as was hinted during the story by others. I did believe that she could cook though.
Romance story with families that are far from perfect. I am interested in seeing what happens to Jethro’s two younger brothers now. So yeah, I am kinda hooked on the Hansens.
Jethro and Sadie both have mistakes in their past. Sadie comes to Marietta to help her friend Layla at her law firm while she is on maternity leave. Jethro wants to save his family ranch. Layla's early labor brings Jethro and Sadie together in an unexpected way. Jethro is great under pressure while Sadie is not. Romance was not on their radar but now it has them rethinking their plans. Sometimes you have to adjust your plans for the things that really matter. Great read.
3 Stars
Sometimes you just cannot convince people you have turned a corner and have changed. Our guy had some missteps in the past and he finally was working at his grandfather's ranch trying to turn it around. The grandfather's passing leaves things in turmoil.
The attorney visiting from the big city crosses his path and so they actually seem to be interested in each other. The question is can they overcome all the people who have their own opinion of how this coupling should go.
Cowboy to the Rescue is the story of two young people striving to build new futures from the ashes of the mistakes of their pasts. Great character development, a strong storyline, an interesting support cast, and the purity of new love; these are some of the endearing qualities of this first book in the Hansen Brothers series.
Ms Harrison has definitely inspired readers to want to know more about this complex family and the majestic town of Marietta, Montana, and I for one look forward to reading the next exciting instalment of this brand new series.
Sadie St. Martin has had her whole life planned out for her, but ever since moving to Marietta, Monatana where she met Jethro Hansen, she's unsure of what she wants. Jethro Hansen has had a troubled past, and is doing his best to keep his grandfather's ranch. Living in a small town, however, it can be quite difficult to convince people that you have actually changed for good.
Sadie is in Marietta to help run a law firm, while her friend Layla is on maternity leave. During her very first meeting with Jethro sparks fly and their romance begins, will it be enough for Sadie to stay with Jethro?
It took me a couple of chapters to really get into the book, but once I did, I thoroughly enjoyed the story.
