Got boring very quickly and didn't improve. I did not find this as uplifting as it claims to be. A lot of bed-hopping between characters and didn't really lead anywhere.

I thought "Orphan Boy" was a fascinating read and a really excellent book! I loved the characters that the author, Elizabeth Gill, has created and it was a great storyline. I thought the ending to be most fulfilling. I highly recommend this book. Well worth five stars.

I received a complimentary digital copy of this novel, at my own request, from Quercus Books via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.

I was lucky to receive this book from netgalley and didn't know it was part of a series. It made no difference to the read and I thoroughly enjoyed reading about No all, Bridget and Caitlin.
Will look to read more of Elisabeth Gill books now .

Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for allowing me to read this arc.
This was one of the best books I've read in a long time.
Nialls mother dies in childbirth. When George his stepfather drinks himself into debt and loses everything he takes Niall tramping the roads to Edinburgh! But George shoots himself and Niall ends up in a cruel and sad is children's home where he makes friends with Brigid.
What happens to both of them results in two murders and breaking out of the home.
Read on to find out what happens to Niall and Brigid.
Absolutely brilliant book!!
