This is a cute, quick read. It's as if a friend sent screengrabs of terrible Tinder interactions on repeat.
A short read made up of text/message conversations from dating websites. It is a funny representation of what most single people have to deal with when traversing the "Internet Dating World". The book is extremely short - it can be finished in about 30 minutes. The layout is hard to read when converted into ebook format but I imagine if it were printed and much longer it would serve as a funny coffee table book.
Was definitely disappointed in this book.
The writing style was horrible and so disjointed. While I know that this type of book is not necessarily linear, the entries were boring and I just could not get into it - and I normally love this type of book.
This is a series of messages that featured on the Tinder Tuesday blog, and reminded me why I don't want to go online dating through Tinder!
There were some very funny moments that had me laughing out loud, although there were others that were just cringe inducing. This is not a book. Or, if this is a book, then we humans have set our bar really, really low. It is small in size and easy to read and it took me less than 40 minutes.
Don't get me wrong, it was hilarious and so bizarre at times! But worth purchasing? Definitely not! There are Instagram blogs dedicated to this same theme, and they're free. They also include the author's personal comments, a backstory, and just more of a plot in general. Lost the Plot is a good way to describe it...it sure lost me.
Hilarious, quick read. Finished it over lunch.
Though I’ve been married since before dating apps became popular I still love reading these types of conversations on blogs, such as tinder Tuesday, where these were collected from.
I received a copy of this book from netgalley in exchange for my review.*
This book was just kind of ridiculous. Definitely not a novel or a book to be taken seriously. It would make a good quick airport read, but not something I’d be talking about or recommending after reading it.
This was a fun quick read! I would definitely say grab it if you need a good laugh. I especially enjoy funny text conversations and cheesy/awkward pick up lines so this was spot on for me.
I’d recommend it if you’re looking for an easy laugh, have a few extra minutes to kill or a member of a dating service. Enjoy your laugh!
I didn't love this. I think it was funny and would be a good coffee table book and I honestly expect more. I don't think I will be sharing this on my social media because the cover wasn't that high quality on the version on got and wouldn't stimulate anything worth mentioning.
A collection of witty observations on the trials and tribulations of online dating, the dangers of auto-correct, and some classic mis-understandings.
The good points: This is definitely a book for the bathroom - something to dip into occasionally for a little chuckle. Alternatively, maybe a joke present for someone currently dabbling in the online dating game.
The bad points: The layout isn't great on the kindle format (reading on my phone via the kindle app). Also it's probably not the sort of book I would re-read.
This book made me think, textfromlastnight meets tinder. I would out definitely consider this a coffee table book. It makes for interesting conversation, imaging the horrors of some messages. It doesn't have to be read in continuous order, so it's perfect to leave out and just open to any random page and read the funny message exchanges. This should be considered a light read, took me about 20 minutes to read with a few interruptions.
Very short and read in 30 minutes. Still hilarious though and a good coffee table book. I am sure we can all relate to some of the one liners in this book and weirdo messages if ever you have online dated lol 😂
When I saw the description for this, I wasn't really sure what it was... a novel, a self help book? It turned out to be actual text messages from people on dating apps. It was really entertaining and made me so glad I've been happily married for 30+ years and don't have to deal with what are apparently a lot of idiots out in the dating world. My only complaint is that it was so short - took me only about 10-15 minutes to read. If you're looking for a quick, fun read, then this is.
First, I want to thank Lost the Plot, Pantera Press and NetGalley for providing me with this book so I can bring you this review.
Being single is hard enough let alone this day in age with modern technology. Ever rolled your eyes at a bad text you got from a guy/girl? Well then you need to read this book!! #Single by Lost the Plot Dating in the 21st Century Based on the Popular Blog TinderTuesday is just the book for you! This book will have you rolling on the floor laughing your booty off thinking did they really text that?! You will now understand why some people are still single!!
Lost the Plot set this book to look like a long text from different people and she categorized them too. It may be a short read but it is packed with comedy!! One tip don’t voice text when having road rage and trying to send a sweet text message to your honey!! It wont come out well.
I had not heard of this book or the writer before, if I'm being honest. I read the synopsis and thought it was smart enough to make me pick it up! I laughed so hard at some of these! I'm not sure if the conversations are actually taken from Tinder profiles, but they are sharp-witted, funny and utterly brilliant!
I would suggest this one as a "light" read. It is small in size and easy to read and it took me less than 20 minutes. I may actually try some of the lines in there, if I ever end up online dating. Should be fun!
The book gives a fairly accurate account of the colourful personalities you might meet on dating apps. It made me LOL at numerous sections. However, text was really brief and i finished the book very quickly. I would highly recommend this book for people with very short attention spans.
It only took me like 20 minutes to read the whole thing, the book isn't long at all, but it was hilarious! As someone who uses Tinder and dating sites, I could really relate to the messages women were getting. Men are such idiots! haha
I loved it and it was cute and funny and really brightened an otherwise bad day.
I did not like this book. I did not understand the concept of it. Plus the ebook version was not doing any good to it.
What even is this book? Like, it's hilarious, but I really hope these aren't real tinder conversations, because geez.
While the premise sounded interesting, this really wan't anything more than you can get following a Twitter or Instagram page. It was a series of bad Tinder conversations.
When I saw the cover and read the description, I thought it was going to be a novel about a woman trying to date on Tinder. Perhaps I just misunderstood the book when I downloaded it.
