Blind Date Bet is a good fit for readers who enjoy stories about finding love and taking risks, even when it means challenging one's own preconceived notions and fears.

I loved the characters and the storyline development of this book. It was absolutely one of my favorites so far and I can't wait to delve in to the next one that this author writes. The storyline was simple, enjoyable, and entertaining.

I just loved this book. It was so well-written that it captured my mind and I was dragged along for the ride. Once I started reading I could not put it down until I read the last page.

This book was just alright for me... unfortunately I felt like Isabella came off a bit whiney and Ethan just gave in to her so easily.

Loved this book! The complications from losing a loved one in the military run deep, emotionally. I truly enjoyed the relationship progression of these two characters. Nothing in life comes easy, but with the right person, all obstacles can be conquered. Great story. Great characters. Great writing.

This book did not disappoint. My fave type of characters a former military man and his K-9 Partner. I will definitely be following up with the next book in this series. The writing is awesome, the story flowed so well. There are some surprises but its all worth it in the end.

I'm not ashamed to say that the dog on the cover is what drew me to this book, but the dog seemed very much missing from the plot! I feel like our heroine was hard to like and hard to even predict which made the romance feel a little forced. Sorry to say that this just didn't do it for me, but I did finish it, and I enjoyed certain parts, so three stars.

I was not a fan of this one. The writing was okay, but I'm 50% of the way through the book, and it's basically the same thing over and over again. Ethan meets Isabella the first time when she's trying to ignore the rules and she thinks "who is he to tell me what to do?'". They meet again on a blind date. She walks out on him in pretty much every interaction after that. Her military husband died a decade ago in a freak accident. She refuses to date anyone active duty. While I understand that, she kept going out with Ethan, and then freaking out over it. She blames her dad for everything, including her mom walking out on them, because he's military. That's pretty crappy considering she left Isabella in the process, and her dad was the one who raised her. To say I wasn't a fan is an understatement. Although I didn't enjoy this one, I would give this author another read.

I enjoyed this story very much, and easy read about two people with military backgrounds, Isabella has been hurt before and is very wary about getting involved with another man in the military, but Ethan is a caring hero, one who anyone would find it hard not to fall for.

Isabelle Knowles has a military father and mother who ran from that life when she was a young teenager, but military life was what she wanted and at the age of eighteen she married her soldier her school sweetheart only to lose him and so getting involved with military men is a no go, but then a blind date organized by her father starts a new journey that she struggles with.

Ethan Masters grew up in military family as well, so going into the military is what he wants air force K-9 for Ethan and he is a gentleman and caring man, when his friend sets him up on a blind date, he is stunned at the beautiful lady that is there to meet him, but their first date does not work out well, nor their second, he is finding it hard to get her to open up, but when he does the pull between them grows as well.

Isabella has a lot of thinking to do and feelings to get over before she can finally commit to love and Ethan, she is a strong heroine and does not like to be pushed around, but Ethan is one of the most caring heroes I have met and although their journey to a HEA is a very up and down battle, there is no denying the sensual pull between them, I do recommend this one to readers of military romance.

Blind Date Bet is the first in a two book set, but stands alone no problem. I was a little disappointed not to find the dog more prominent in the storyline because it carried such weight on the cover. That being said, this novel was a quick, entertaining read. I appreciated that Ms Flockton didnt take the easy route and make the Airman the character with issues. The heroine in this book is the one who has the most growth during the story arc. The characters are engaging, the pacing is slow and leisurely. I had enough interest in the secondary characters to warrant looking for the second book.

Lovers of dogs, military, and cute romances will eat up this adorable love story about first impressions and never giving up on love. Isabella is an amazing teacher as well as a spunky character who woos the tough Ethan into believing there is a person he could spend the rest of his life with. Blind dates and a little faith can be good things too.

Story about a girl who suffers heartbreak who is afraid to fall for the guy. Isabella and Etahn have a strong attraction but Isabella doesn't want to date another military guy. Ethan is a stand up guy giving Isabella space to come to terms with his career (and the inherent danger).

I liked how Isabella finally reevaluates her past with a lens of experience. I did fined her a bit wishy washy. At one point I thought Ethan could do better. Overall a nice way to spend a Saturday afternoon.

I absolutely loved this book. I was drawn in and loved the storytelling. I have been in a reading slump and this broke me out of it.

I enjoyed reading this book with the exception of the f-bombs and descriptive sex scenes. The story was good and the characters were well developed.

Isabella Knowles had some baggage and was determined to never become involved with another military man. Ethan Masters was a K-9 officer in the Air Force and agreed to a blind date on a drunken bet. Izzy was the blind date and the first "date" didn't end very well when Izzy realized that Ethan was in the military. She didn't want to risk the pain of losing a loved one to the military. But, Ethan was a good man and he made Izzy feel things that she had never felt before. She had to decide if a relationship with Ethan was worth the risk or not.

I love a good romantic novel.

Blind Date Bet tells the story of a school teacher and a K-9 Officer, and their whirl-wind encounter.

It was an easy read. I breeze through the pages and was able to finished it within the day.

There are some issues that I have encountered while I was reading it:
- Lack of character growth for Ethan. I felt that he was "stuck" with his character and his being a K-9 trainer/officer was introduced briefly.
- Details about Isabella's relationship with her veteran father should explore more since it is linked to the entire story.

All in all, I gave this a 3.75 out of 5 stars.

I recommend this those who want a light romantic read especially on weekends.

Overall, I enjoyed this book and the concept behind the story. Izzy lost her husband in a freak training exercise 10 years ago, and now this elementary teacher has no interest in pursuing a relationship with another serviceman. Her father is also in the military, and decides to set his daughter up with a blind date. Enter Ethan. He is hunky of course, and works with the service dogs. A lot of attraction of course, but she is still frozen in her fear, and he also has issues to overcome. I did enjoy the characters and story, but must admit at times I got irritated with how long it seemed to play the same story issue until the HEA. Still though, if you want a fun read that doesn't need a lot of thought than this is a good fit. Easy read and one I recommend.

Overall this was a great book. For the most part the plot flowed smoothly. There were times when I did get frustrated with Isabella though. While trying to make her a strong independent heroine, I felt she was a little childish at times. While she had kept a secret from Ethan (her past with a husband who was killed in a military training accident) she was incredibility upset when Ethan reveals his (deployment date, re-enlistment...) even though she was the one to change the subject if he brought it up prior to his finally forcing the discussion.

This book did a great job though in highlighting how military personnel can have a hard time connecting to others and in trying to make a relationship work. It isn't all sunshine and roses. Also the families that stand behind their loved ones really do sacrifice a great deal while a loved one is deployed.

I really did appreciate the book having a dual POV format. Seeing into the characters' mind was wonderful here. Again I got frustrated with Isabella but seeing into her thought process was really helpful to me to not put the book down and keep reading. I am very glad that I did.

I requested an advance reader copy of this novel for several reasons. First, I've never read anything by this author before and thought I'd give her a try. Second, it's the first novel in the series, and I'm tired of always starting a series somewhere near the middle or end. Lastly, the cover and series title led me to believe that a dog would play a major role in this novel. While the writing was quite good, the premise of this novel struck me as odd, and the dog, a K-9 companion to the air force hero, Ethan, was barely mentioned. For these and several other reasons, I could only give this novel a 2-star rating.

The heroine in this novel is Isabella (Izzy), who married her high school sweetheart as soon as they graduated and he immediately joined the military. Being the daughter of a military father and moving from base to base, Isabella envisioned her happy future as being one of a group of friendly and supportive military wives on base, happily married and raising her children. A freak training accident before her husband was ever deployed put an end to those dreams and she swore that she'd never get involved with another military man again. This novel is set 10 years after the death of her husband, and although she's had sex with several men since being widowed, none were in the military, and there were no long-term relationships with any of them.

Izzy's relationship with her father is and has been strained at best for years. Her mother divorced her father when she could no longer handle being a military wife. Why that made Isabella dream of being a military wife is never fully explained, and was a mystery to this reader. Basically, Izzy has gone along for the last decade living a half-life, she teaches grade school, has a few friends and that's about it. When her father arranges a blind date for her, she reluctantly agrees.

Enter the hero, Ethan Masters, and of course, he's handsome, hunky, polite, and oh yes, he's in the air force, and has a K-9 companion, Sam, who makes 2 brief appearances. No sooner does Ethan remove the red fedora he's wearing so that Izzy will recognize him as her date, when she sees his buzz-cut, turns around and literally flees. The two attempt a few more dates, but between Izzy's mood swings, and on-and-off attraction to Ethan, while never explaining why she can't seem to make up her mind about dating him was both childish and ridiculous. She certainly has no problem getting into bed with the handsome airman, but her inner dialogue about him and their relationship, and her fear of losing him as she lost her first husband went on and on, and got her and this reader nowhere.

While I liked Ethan's attempts to get to know Izzy, and his attempts to put her mind at ease about his choice of career, and his introducing her to the wives of his military friends, he doesn't bother filling her in on his plans for the future, a future that includes the fact that he's about to be deployed again, that he's been offered a promotion, and that he plans to re-enlist when he returns from this latest deployment. No sooner does Izzy hear the news when she breaks off the relationship, but is there any hope of a future for these two? Frankly, at this point in the novel, I simply didn't care. I thought Ethan could do better than tie himself to a woman who can't seem to decide what she wants, won't support his military career, and who will probably be a basket case whenever he's deployed.

Of course, there's a big surprise and an HEA ending awaiting you, but this novel truly left me totally unmoved and unsatisfied. It needed more depth, more drama over and above the relationship drama between the two principle characters, and more importantly it needed more of a story than just this on again, off again relationship.
