Woohoo, a romance book that features characters that aren't early to mid-20s! Makes the romance seem a bit more realistic given Tess and Miles are on the more mature side of life (Tess is in her 40s). I liked the differences between Tess and Miles, although there were a few times where Tess' control freak tendencies could have potentially ended the evolving relationship she has with Miles

I think I am over the billionaire/millionaire books. Add a single mom into the mix, I just want feeling it.

Single mom Tess Howland catches the eye of playboy millionaire Miles Prescott at a fundraiser and deciding to throw caution to the wind they have a one night stand. Miles though wants more then Tess is willing to give. Tess can't deny the attraction to Miles but she has responsibility to her three children, but what happens when she takes a chance at finding the right one?

I liked this, I thought a lot of the struggles they shared were realistic. This is a great story for end of summer just put your feet up and relax too.

Thank You Shannyn Schroeder! I am so grateful to find a series starter that features a mature woman. The heroine in One Night With A Millionaire is strong, layered and clear voiced. The primary and secondary characters in Ms. Schroeder's novels are beautifully drawn. ONWAM is a sexy quick read. I appreciated that the scenes of passion actually served to move the story along, rather than a s mere placeholders. Great story, strong characters, crisp dialogue, what more can you ask for? I'm looking forward to the rest of the series.
I received my copy through NetGalley under no obligation.

I am glad I chose to read One Night with a Millionaire, written by Shannyn Schroeder! Having Tess, a woman in her forties as the lead character was quite refreshing! Sometimes it is nice to read something that is more relevant to my life. As a divorced mom of three, Tess and already have so much in common. (Check, check, check, and check! ) Tess works hard as a nurse and juggling motherhood and she decides to indulge in a one night stand.

Miles seems like a dream come true- is he perfect or simply too perfect? I like their chemistry and he seems genuine....but their lives are different in so many ways.... Tess is also a bit of a control freak which makes it difficult for Miles to convince her to let them have a chance of a relationship.

I liked this book, love the funny ending, and the kids are just simply great!!! A light romantic read!!!

Thanks to NetGalley,Shannyn Schroeder, and Entangled Publishing for an ARC of One Night with a Millionaire. As always, my opinions are my own!!

Thank you NetGalley for allowing me to read this amazing book.

So this was a bit different from usual millionaire playboys and ‘poor’ girls.
This woman was actually a divorcee with three kids. Nice spin in my option. Made this more of an original story line to me. Miles and Tess were both very likable characters as well.
Overall, I enjoyed this story.

This was a good book. Tess Howard is a nurse and a divorce mother with three children. The one night a year that she dresses up and wants to have a good time is the hospitals gala, and charity ball. She also hopes maybe she can get lucky with a decent man for just one night and be a woman for a few hours and not a mom. I find that this is what most wife’s want from theirs husbands a date night if you will, to feel special. So why can’t she feel special for one night. This night she meets Miles Prescott who just happens to be a Millionaire. They do spend the night together and it is very nice, but it turns out Miles wants more. Tess though she likes him does not want more she was only thinking about one night, and when he asks to see her again they once again make it to the bedroom. It does take time before Tess will let Miles around her children, and as she keeps explaining to him they come from two different worlds. Miles though keeps after her and when he promises the youngest boy Billie something but make it. Does this give her a reason to break up or to work things out? Read this story to find out. A good story with good characters.

At this point I'm 63% into the story. Anyway, I'm still plowing through and loving the story far. I will have an updated review later this evening tomorrow morning. Anyway, I love the fact that it' not your typical romance. I mean who wouldn't want a night with a millionaire. We have Tess who is trying to do it all, she's a mom, works real hard and trying to put her kids first. She doesn't really have time for dating. She meets Miles he's amazing. Seriously, he's willing to work with her schedule and is willing to do anything to be part of her life. So, yeah at this point I'm loving the story. At the same time, I want to scream at Tess to give the man a chance, do he's willing to try. I will come back to you all later with the rest of my thoughts.

The update: Well, I liked the story. It was a pretty good read and different from most stories. However, Tess kind of drove me nuts toward the end. She was a bit too controlling for my taste. Granted I get that she's a single mom doing most of it on her own. In some ways she kind of brought it upon herself. I adore Miles, because he was a sweet guy and totally willing to work with her. Even her children liked him. However, I was glad her friends were a great sounding board for her to let her know she's was in the wrong. Anyway, a decent read, and I kind of can't wait to see the other divorcees have in store.

I'm so glad Entangled started their August line--"older" heroes and heroines FTW :)

I enjoyed One Night with the Millionaire, the first book in Ms. Schroeder's new Daring Divorcees series. It's a Cinderella fantasy story at its best--a single mother meets her millionaire at a charity gala, and their "one night" turns into more as Miles (slowly) decides being a playboy isn't what he wants anymore and Tess (very, very slowly) readjusts her all-about-everyone-else life to let him in. Tess isn't looking for a rescue--she doesn't really decide to give Miles a chance until a member of her friend group (the Daring Divorcees) challenges her to, and even when having a wealthy boyfriend could have helped her out of a difficulty or two, she is determined to help herself. ((view spoiler))

Tess and Miles were great together (even though their early relationship was really heavy on sex...) and Tess's kids added a bit of realistic fun to their story. I especially loved

At times Tess took her need to control things and resentment over her ex's actions a bit too far (black moment, I'm looking at you!) but fortunately the DDs helped her see the error of her ways before it was too late and a really fun HEA was the result.

I can't wait to see what stories come of the other challenges that were issued to the Daring Divorcees!

I give this book 5 stars. The storyline between Tess and Miles was well written and a great must read book. I whole heartedly recommend this book. Jessie is a driven workaholic who needs everything neat and tidy in order to function. She needs everything planned to the last degree and is the last person who her friends will think of for having boy trouble, she’s just too sensible. So why has she found the forbidden territory of her best friends brother so irresistible? Fun story. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

MMMM.. can I have my own millionaire rescuer!? Loved how our female lead was also a single hard-working mom who makes it clear from the start she doesn't have time for BS or games.

Synopsis and the title were very tempting and I had to read this one even this is my first book by Shannyn Schroeder.
It is an interesting story that kept me glued to my kindle until I've finished reading. Writing stile is pretty nice and the has a nice flow through the story and has a happy ending. Perfect reading material between heavier books. I'm looking forward of reading next book by this author

This is the first time I am reading this author and the synopsis and cover are what drew me in to give it a try. This is a single mom book and having been one of those before, those stories always hold a special place in my heart. We meet Tess, she has several kids that she juggles on top of being a nurse. Tess has a gala for the hospital and this is her night that she allows herself to let go and enjoy. Enter Miles, a sex on a stick millionaire who spots Tess and is hooked and Tess is down, but only for the night as she is not really wanting to be in a relationship after her divorce. I loved the interaction between these two and after one lovely night it looks like things might take a different turn that Tess was not expecting! I mean she is divorced with kids and here is this never been married and no kids millionaire who cant get this nurse ( Tess) off his mind, I loved seeing them navigate, their feelings and their life together. I loved this story, the plot was different but the story had that all around great feel and the characters were likable. All in all. a great story! Must read!

Tess slid on her silk navy dress. Her life rarely called for formal wear. Nina would be arriving any minute as would trevor to watch the kids. Trevor said he would help whe William- her ex- bailed out on taking the kids for the weekend. Tonight was important to St Mark's Hospital raised so much money every year. It was the only night she wasn’t taking care of someone. Tess is a nurse s well as a mom to three kids -Zoe. Andrew, and Billy. Tonight was the one night Tess was out to have a good time. Once inside the Hotel- The Peninsula- Tess called Angie who was another nurse and friend. Their boss thought they were there to fill the coffers of their department but Angie and tess had agreed to meet for a drink when she first got there. She might even get Angie to hit another hotel or club. Miles Prescott was the face of his family and going to the St. Mark’s Hospital gala. Miles mostly decided where they should send charitable contributions. But tonight he was tired . It felt like since his dad died this had taken its toll. When his father had been alive Miles had been able to do his work in his office and at board meetings. His parents had been the face of their software company. He had than only attended a handful of these kind of events but now he covered the bulk of such affairs. Carter listened to the woman-Tess- talking to Carter Baldwin about her job at St. Marks. She caught his looking at her and told her who he was . After having a drink with him tess said she was off to mingle after he invited her and Angie to sit at his table for dinner. She told him she would see. His gut told him that spending dinner with Theresa would be an excellent way to pass the night. Sleeping with a donor was a little too much like sleeping with someone for,m work, which was a line tess said she would never cross. Tess said she would love to go to the Terrace and have a drink as she loved the amazing view of the Chicago. Miles said he had a view and they could go there and she agreed. In his room, Miles kissed tess and felt like it had been much too long since she had done this. Than Miles handed her an envelope it was the spa day she had bid on but didn’t have the money the donors did to win it. Miles had won it for her. The gesture was incredibly sweet but she couldn’t take it. This was the freedom tess had been looking for - to be the woman she used to be, not the one buried under scrubs and mommy responsibilities. Miles and Tess had sex and it was great. Than Miles asked when he could see her again . Tess said she didn’t know as she worked a lot. Tess sneaked out after waking at 5 am. He had given her everything she had wanted for the night. Than he wanted to see her again and she didn’t know what to do about that, she didn’t know how to date. She had forgotten Nina’s necklace but figured she would just have to replace it with a new one- Tess didn’t know it was real. The memories of that night would be enough to feed her fantasies for a long time. Miles had went to the hospital but looking for Teresa but than Angie seen him and told him Tess went by Tess. He gave her his business card with his cell number and said he had tess’s necklace and to have her call him. That was three days ago and Tess still didn’t know what to do. Finally she called his cell hoping for his voice mail but Miles answered and wanted to meet for coffee. Between her regular shifts and the extra home health care she took on her week was full. As theresa she could be open and fun and forward as tess eh was her usual guarded, safe, self. She told miles she would meet him tomorrow. She’d spent days thinking about Miles and the good times she had and it just wasn’t about the sex. She’d been able to talk to him and it wasn’t just about the kids or work. One day at the hospital tess had a little girl- Emily- she had cared for and thought she was going to make it code and pass away. Her parents were shattered and fell to the floor. Tess felt awful than her ex- William- lit into her about being late as he had plans, but he should understand he was a surgeon. Than William admitted he didn’t know how to connect with his kids and Tess said he would have to work it out with the kids. Miles called as usual that night and knew tess was upset and came to her house he wouldn’t let her come in as he hadn’t met the kids yet but she went out to him and they took a walk and he did his best to make her feel better.
This was a great story. I loved Tess and Miles together and how they interacted. I loved how willing miles was to work around tess’s schedule and be with her whenever he could. I also loved how Miles was with Tess’s kids. I loved seeing his and Tess’s relationship grow. This was a great easy romantic read with just enough angst. I also liked Tess;s friends and how they helped her the best they could with Miles. Why was Tess struggling so much and worried about money, hwe ex was a doctor he should have been payong a good amount to child support Tess shouldn’t have had to work so hard and nurses make good money too was were things so hard for Tess? So I did have some questions that were never answered. But it still doesn't take away from the story how it was presented and how it ended which I loved. I loved the characters except for William I think he was a butt and the ins and outs of this story and I highly recommend it.

Miles has to work at it!

Divorced nurse Tess Howland only lets her hair down one night a year and that’s after the benefit for the hospital that she works in the NICU department because her three kids come first. Tess meets Miles Prescott and they hit it off and enjoy the evening when Miles asks her to spend the night with him at the suite that he reserved. Tess snuck out in the early morning but Miles decided to track her down at the hospital.

Miles had a hard time getting Tess to date him because of her kids and that he came from a lot of money but he decided she was worth taking the time to see her and slowly she changed her mind but not without some roadblocks.

I’ve haven’t read many books lately where the woman has finished having children and talks to the guy about it in the story and not off-scene but it definitely works in the story!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
