If you have read The Red, with it's beautiful cover and unique and captivating tale, you know it's hard to capture that feeling in a story. I wasn't so sure I would love The Rose as much. Well, it completely blew me away. This was one book that was hard to put down. I was so fully drawn into the magic and weaving of fantasies.

Lia is a proper lady, with a dirty secret, from a family wrought with naughty history. She also still holds a broken heart from her past. August is playful, but sincere, clever, and charming. Their interactions were sensual, but sweet.

Another thing I loved about The Rose is that it's broken up with a light, teasing humor sprinkled throughout. Not to mention another knockout cover. You could read this as a stand alone and not be lost, if anyone is wondering.

I'm gonna be honest. For the first 35% or so of this book, I wasn't really enjoying it. I was coming really close to DNFing it, actually.

First, I'm gonna explain what this book is about. This is essentially an erotic fantasy centering around Lia and her love interest August, who introduces her to this cup that allows whoever drinks from it to experience sexual fantasies in whatever magical world/realm they wish, though most of the fantasies Lia and August experience together take place in Ancient Greece.

At first, my reading experience wasn't enjoyable mainly because I wasn't feeling much chemistry between these characters, especially when they were experiencing their mythological fantasies. These scenes felt very scripted due to the ancient Greek-like language/vernacular used, so these scenes lacked the passion that I expect from Tiffany Reisz's books.

However, as I kept reading, I really enjoyed all of the scenes that took place in the real world as well as the various characters that made up Lia's friends and family. Plus, Lia and August's relationship developed throughout the story and I came to truly see the passion and love they had for each other. I also started enjoying the fantasy scenes because they were all different from one another and were very intriguing. You can tell that Reisz did her research in regards to Greek mythology, and it made this novel so much more than just a smutty romance.

So, overall I do recommend this, but keep in mind that this is VERY different from anything else Reisz has written (at least what I have read from her). This is probably a good book to start with if you've never read any erotic fantasy novels before as well.

I struggled to read this book at first. It took at least two trys for me to get drawn to it. I am glad I didn't give up. I loved it. The mythological stories within the larger context made the romance between the two main characters very passionate. The only part that felt failed for me was the protagonist as a madam. I just didn't find it believable.

Utterly lifeless book. No development of characters or world. No chemistry between the main characters.

To start with, if you are into Greek Mythology and you like a really sensual book, you are going to love The Rose. Lady Ophelia Godwick lives Greek Mythology. Her Father and Mother love it too and on her 21st birthday her Father threw her a party and in front of the guests, presented her with her present, a Kylix Wine Cup dated to 500 BC. Little did she know where that cup would take her and who with.

Augustine Bowman was an Art Collector also, he also bid on the Cup at Auction and lost out to Lia's Father and for a slight compensation invited August to Lia's party. August was none too happy when he saw the Cup blatantly being given to a young girl and he had to get his hands on it. Even though he was a bit older than the young Lia, he had to woo her in some way to get it.

August had many secrets, but so did Lia. She and her three girlfriends started the Gardening & Tennis Club of Wingthorn Hall. This was no Gardening and Tennis Club, it was a secret illegal escort agency and if found out the girls would be in all manner of trouble. Unfortunately someone else knew about their secret club with blackmail and betrayal factoring into their scheme.

This was an excellent read, I love everything written by Tiffany Reisz, she certainly knows how to spin a great tale. Definitely looking forward to the next book.

Thanks to NetGalley and HARLEQUIN - MIRA (U.S. and Canada) for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I love Tiffany Reisz and I will read anything she writes. The Rose works in romance, sex, and mythology with paranormal elements. Reisz is a fantastic storyteller.

WARNING: Due to explicit sexual content, this story is for mature (18 and over) audiences only.

I have so many mixed feelings about this story. Tiffany is hands down one my favorite authors, and normally I love everything about her stories. They are erotica yes, but there is also usually an underlying story woven throughout that makes more of an impression. With The Rose, I feel like that part of her style was missing.

With this story, I feel as though a little too focused on the sex. And while yes, the scenes were well written, and yes I very much enjoyed the way the Greek myths were portrayed in them, I would have liked to have seen more development between August and Lia. Instead, I'm expected the believe they fell madly in love with one another because they have some interesting sex? And occasionally some conversation outside of it? I also wish there would have been more with the David story-line. He was a first class jerk, but even that seemed glossed over.

Overall, I am certain this story will appeal to those who enjoy well-written erotica novels.

A truly enjoyable read. I was fascinated with the Greek mythology. The author cleverly and expertly combined erotica and fantastical.

Welcome friends to step into the magical world of the one and only marvelous Tiffany Reisz.
I have to say that I am beyond all the feelings and reactions I could have imagined with this book. It blew me away big time and left my heart and soul fully contempt.

The Rose could be read as a standalone in my opinion but to fully experience all it has to offer and understand the side characters better I strongly recommend reading The Red first.
In The Rose, we have a wealthy high society young lady Lia that has an unusual hobby/business on the side with her friends.
Until one day a mysterious handsome God looking man August comes into her life and changes it forever in more ways than one.

Their connection is unique and strong and my mind was working big time to try and figure out what was going to happen next.
Overall the outcome was beyond anything I could have expected and Reisz did it again.
I never saw myself so intrigued nor interested in Greek Mythology before but this book surely got the best of me and I am to admit that I was a bit obsessed after finishing the book and googled myself crazy on some parts *laughing*.

I loved loved loved it very much and have only the best to say about this book but the best thing for you to do is to read it and experience it all on your own.
A book very worth your time and money and this author NEVER disappoints!

Lia met August Bowman at her graduation party given by her parents. It wasn't loved at first sight, as a matter of fact, Lia tries to avoid August, for she knew he's trouble. But he's just persistent and charming his way to Lia to talk to him. The banter between these two is quite entertaining to read. And so when Lia's father gave his gift to her the cup known as the Rose Kylix. August warned Lia about it that...

"If you drink from this cup you will have extraordinarily heightened sexual experiences."

Will Lia believe August?

I've been fascinated by Greek's god and goddess and their story. Tiffany Reisz just made a wonderful adaptation of each character in this book. Be warned, though, that this story will stimulate your wild imagination and if you already read a book by this author, you know she no holds barred when it comes to her writing. I found The Rose greatly enjoyable right from the start. There's the mystery surrounding the Kylix and the secret Lia is hiding from her parents. A real page-turner, a perfect sequel to book 1, The Red! Recommended to readers who like erotic romance.

A question was left by the author...
Author: Shall we go for three?
Me: YES! Please!

In The Rose, Lia, Lord Godwick’s great granddaughter is gifted a rare, one of a kind wine goblet, decorated with a very specific rose, on her 21st birthday. That same night she also meets August Bowman, a collector. Lia is obsessed with Greek mythology, so her father’s gift is very dear to her. When August offers to buy the Rose kylix from her, she refuses, but is willing to experience the unique powers of the artifact.

When a man shows up, who hurt Lia years before and threatens her, she is forced to agree to sell the kylix to August in order to get the money needed to pay off her blackmailer. But she also has stipulations; she will use the kylix with August on a nightly basis for a week, before that the sale goes through.

August on his part decides he will heal Lia’s broken heart, make her believe in love and in the powers of the cup. As the week goes by, he does just that. But he also falls deeply in love with her. And pays a high price for his love.

There’s also, as per usual for Reisz, some form of mindfuck. But that’s expected, and her gift of weaving it into her stories is truly magnificent.

The Rose is an erotic rollercoaster of Greek mythology healing broken hearts, mending trust and some witty, clever and words that shoot straight from Cupid’s arrow into the reader’s heart.

This was not for me, it was okay. Too much back and forth for me.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher , I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

Great fun! A very happy, yet slightly strange, read. The fantasy and mystery of it all definitely keeps you turning the pages. Impossibly not to fall a little bit in love with August Bowman.

Thank you Harlequin and NetGalley for the ARC!

I recieved this book thru Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. First let me say I love love Tiffany Reisz work. I will give this one 4.5 stars since I did skim some towards the end. This book you can read it as a standalone. It had nothing to do with the characters from the Red. Which I was a little disappointed by that because I wanted more of them.

I loved how she tied Greek mythology into this one. It made me want to know more about the Greek Gods. This book is erotic, hot steamy, but needed a little more drama for me. I did stay up to read this one.

This book is GREAT, especially for fans of The Red. In this book, Lia is 21 years old and her parents are the couple from The Red. (omg they are kind of amazing in this book and I loved them a whole lot and would read any short story that is scenes from their open marriage). Anyways, it's Lia's 21st birthday and her Dad gives her a piece of ancient Greek pottery that has magical powers. A man named August offers to help her safely use the cup---which transports her into scenes of Greek Mythology where...well. it's Tiffany Reisz, there is a huge amount of inventive and lovingly described scenes of filthy hot sex.

I loved this book! I loved the Red. But be forewarned, it's ghostpepper hot!

I’ve never read a book quite like this one. It was a complete journey into some of Greek mythologies most erotic tales.

English Lady Ophelia receives a cup, reported to belonging to Aphrodite. A handsome, Greek man also wants to cup, but offers to show her how to use it. The cup really belongs to Eros , God of sex. The cup transports the user into their fantasy. Lia and her lover travel together into the myths and live out the fantasies together.

Very interesting concept and good story. Recommended as something different, Love story but lots of erotic sex scenes.

I knew going into this that this was an erotic romance. Normally not my go to genre, but i loved it. I enjoyed it and glad I tried it! Love Tiffany’s novels!!!

This is the first book I have ever read from Tiffany Reisz. The first book read in this genre also.
I don't read erotic novels because I always assume they might be too sexual or perhaps vulgar.
Not in this case!
What made me to grab this book is the meytholgycal aspect of it. The description was very intriguing and tempting to read.
I am glad I did pick that book!
Although, the book should be read by adults (21+ for me) the story and sexual contents blended well in this book. Simply, you cant just skip these, because if you do...you will get lost in the storyline.
The author cleverly mixes present, and past and infuses it with plenty of erotica blend in it.
I must say...the whole book is well written and yes not offensivly written.
50 shades of grey is nothing to this book!
This book has a good storyline. This book will make you read more books written by this author. This book will keep you well entertained.
I would strongly recommend it to adult audience only!
I was thinking I would never say this...but... Here I am reading that kind of genre... And I am planning to grab another book of Tiffany Reisz and read it again!

This was an interesting book. While well-written and imaginative, it did not feel at all like a romance to me. Perhaps it was not intended to be one. I wanted more of a building of a relationship between August and Lia, and their nightly forays into the realm of Greek myth did not provide that, because they were just playing the roles of other people. I therefore felt the episodes of mythology really did not add much to the book at all.
