Scottoline provides a twisty, clever and fast-paced story which rockets out the gate and never slows. A wonderful read--one of her best.

I did enjoy the first 75% of this book. The story was engaging and I liked the different POVs. But the last 25% lost me. One character's decisions were just way too over the top for me and the final reveal was beyond belief and just kind of dumb.
Full review to be published online in mid April.
SOMEONE KNOWS is the story of 5 people who were involved in an unspeakable act twenty years previously. The survivors are brought together by the death of another one of the people who were there that night. This becomes a catalyst for more deaths and revenge.
Although SOMEONE KNOWS us a well written novel as to be expected from Lisa Scottoline, I found it difficult to reconcile all the pieces and find satisfaction in the simplistic ending.
Let me start by saying that Scottoline is one of my favorite authors, so it pains me to write this review. I had a really hard time getting into this book, and I ended up skipping around a bit, at times. Overdetailing of past events stalled things, especially in the beginning. The characters and dialogue didn't seem as developed as I'm used to reading in her books. The premise was good, but it didn't live up to its potential. While I didn't enjoy this book as much as I'd hoped, it won't stop me from checking out the author's books in the future.
Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy from NetGalley, but I wasn't required to leave a positive review.
Lisa Scottoline is one of my favorite authors. I have read all of her books and her lawyer series, Rosato and Associates, is the best. I wanted to like this stand alone book, and thought the premise was great but I was only able to get through about 20% of this book. The characters were not likable and the dialogue was so unlike her other books. Maybe this book would appeal to YA/high school readers and I just could not finish it.
I do love Lisa Scottoline books and again she did not disappoint. My favorite character was Allie, even though she was tortured by the events that happened she does the right thing in the end and clears her conscience.
The story begins with Allie reluctantly returning to her hometown for a friends funeral twenty years after she left.. She dreads seeing anyone from her past as the plot Rewinds to when she and her friends were fifteen and their lives completely shattered. This book has a great premise and a strong plot, up until the end where it seems a little too wobbly, and not as believable.
I am a huge fan of Lisa Scottoline and I felt that SOMEONE KNOWS was not her best. I found the start too long with too much time spent on teenage angst. It took a while for the book to gel for me.
Perhaps, I related better to the characters as they aged.

So, I can’t wait to read Scottoline’s next book, but I felt this didn’t live up to her other work.
Scottoline is at the top of her game in this novel about the corrosive effects of guilt. A group of teens get carried away, have too much to drink and one of them ends up dead. The survivors agree to keep the truth of what happened secret. But now, years later, Allie has returned home for the funeral of one of those friends and she has to face the consequences of her actions.
