This is my first book from the author, a fact that I'm regretting enormously! I now want to read all of the Harper brothers stories!!!

Audrey loves what she does, she dedicates all her time to her animals and she is content with that. A long time ago she decided that she wouldn't get attached to anyone, that she was gonna stick to her career and her plans, but now that she has achieved them she is starting to notice how alone she is.

Caleb has come really far, after being abandoned with his siblings he worked as hard as he could to achieve all his dreams and he is happy to announce to the world that he has arrived.
But his past had left a mark that he wasn't sure will ever heal. He built a wall so thick around his heart that no one could ever get close enough, which was just how he liked it.
If no one can get close enough, they can't hurt you when they leave.

These two get together in the quest to find what's wrong with the sick horses, was there foul play involved? Who could they be after? Will Audrey be able to find the cure in time?

Having Caleb protecting her could be a blessing in disguise, she is used to saving herself, but this knight in shinning Armour is not taking no for an answer.

Audrey has somehow broken down all his boundaries, and now he can't get her out of his mind. will he be strong enough to risk it all, go all in?

Caleb and Audrey are terrific together!

This is a solid romance story set on a foundation of suspense - who's poisoning the horses, and why? Audrey is the best vet in the area, but she's got an uphill climb trying to figure out what's killing the horses. Caleb is on hand to provide protection as she runs her tests and cares for the horses. There's plenty of excitement as he and his brothers are on high alert around the clock, trying to keep Audrey and her sister safe.

The mystery/suspense part of the story was well done, but the real meat of the story is the growing romance between Caleb and Audrey. They each have their reasons for not wanting to risk a long-term relationship, but their undeniable chemistry pulls them together faster than their gun-shy hearts can stop them. I loved the inclusion of the rest of Caleb's family; the celebrations and the heartaches all serve to round out these characters until they feel like your own family. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

This is my first book by Donna Grant and I can assure you it will not be my last. I am going to get the first two in this series for starters!

I loved the mystery and suspense. I loved Caleb! Who doesn’t love a sexy cowboy, right?! Audrey is a dedicated vet who is passionate about her job and the animals. Both have issues with putting themselves out there for any type of relationship, nor do they want one. Well, that is until they are thrown together to figure out what is happening to the horses. The chemistry and attraction cannot be denied. As much as they try to deny it, to fight it, you know love will win out in the end.

This book has a great mix of mystery, suspense, romance, and family interwoven together nicely.

Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher, and the author for an advance copy. This is my voluntary, unbiased review.

Donna Grant does a good job bringing romance to this series. The book was filled with heartwarming moments that helped this suspense filled novel.

I liked Caleb and Audrey as a couple. They were each a bit gun shy on relationships but these two matched well together.

I also enjoy how she brings the other characters back. They add to the enjoyment of the book.

This book is third in a series, but can be read as a standalone.

The cowboy and the vet were not a good match on paper, but sparks fly and they have to figure out a way to work it out. Although the entire vet/sick horse plotline seemed a little unrealistic the friendships and romantic relationship were easy to read.

This is the third book in this series and we finally get to know the youngest Harper brother, Caleb, who is newly retired from the military and working and living his passion as a horse trainer at the family ranch. This is where he meets Audrey Martinez, an equine veterinarian. These two are perfect for each other. Both are world weary and heart wise and both guard their hearts but the chemistry is palpable. Suspense, romance, family, cowboys, mystery, and so much chemistry keep the pages turning and I was not able to put this one down! This one can be read as a standalone but the entire series is great.

I knew Caleb's book would be the most emotional as he had the strongest abandonment issues of all of the Harper kids.
Audrey Martinez is an equine vet and is most wanted in town.,however when horses start dying by poison all evidence seems to lead to her.
The Harper's, Caleb's army buddies as well as the Martinez's are banding together to get to the bottom of this. Even with a little twists and turns..

This is a story that shows that family sticks together through whatever comes their way and a little romance helps as well.

from abandonment issues to stubbornness, this third story in the Heart of Texas series is sure to please. Caleb has all the characteristics of the traditional cowboy: the Stetson, the Boots and the attitude. But will his past create a future that is unlovable? Will his resistance to Audrey leave him in the dark emotionally? Will the mystery of the criminal horseplay be resolved?

Yet again I started a series with the last book but I didn't have a problem reading My Favorite Cowboy without first reading the previous books. Caleb Harper is the youngest of his siblings and was dealing with some pretty heavy abandonment issues. Which had him keeping his distance from veterinarian, Audrey Martinez. Until they're forced together by someone threatening the lives of horses and it's up to them to help stop whoever is poisoning the animals.

I love that both of these characters had their own hangups when it came to relationships and I thought it really made the story intriguing to see what would finally be the push that they needed to get together. It added that sexual tension that I love in romance books, which paired really well with the mystery aspect of the story.

I also enjoyed how deep the family connection was with the Harper siblings. I'm a sucker for a good family oriented story so now I definitely want to go back and read the first two books in the series. Overall, this book is a definite must read.

I'm really liking Donna Grant's writing style. She always brings to life such relatable characters. My Favorite Cowboy (ironically) wasn't my favorite in the series but I still really enjoyed reading about Audrey and Caleb. They were both down to earth, everyday people.

Audrey is a highly sought after veterinarian who finds herself in the center of a nasty horse poisoning investigation. When every lead they find, leads them back to her, things start to get complicated. Caleb and his family and friends come to her aide and together team up to uncover the real culprit behind the attacks.

There are always strong family ties and great friends in DG's books and this one was no exception. I loved the scene where Caleb claims Audrey and her sister as part of his inner circle. For someone used to being alone and just relying on her sister, his promise to always have her back was really touching.

The romance was a bit of push and pull from both sides, but the chemistry was good and getting inside both MCs heads kept the angst pretty low. Both MCs have trust issues but like mature adults, they talk through them and work it out. Overall this was a nice wrap up to the series. I hope Jace and Cooper get their own stories, these two where amazing supporting characters but would be awesome Heroes in their own stories :)

Would I recommend? To complete the series, yes, I recommend it. It was a solid read and I liked that it gave us a glimpses of the other couples too.

A fantastic read that kept me entertained and intrigued from beginning to end while sitting on the edge of my seat and turning the pages faster than ever to see what would happen. It was so beautifully written, I felt like I was right in the middle of the action with the realistic characters and sharing their emotions through the suspense, family drama, and so much more. I loved the instant attraction, undeniable chemistry and romance between equine veterinarian Audrey Martinez and Caleb Harper, a tried-and-true Texas tough cowboy.

"My Favorite Cowboy" is a must-read for anyone who enjoys well-crafted suspenseful romance. I received an advance reader copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley and this is my voluntary review. I enjoyed the book so much, I purchased a copy for my keeper library.

I love how this story had both romance and suspense twisted together in the best way. As a renowned veterinarian, Audrey has been invited to discover why the horses are getting sick on her friend's rescue farm. Caleb comes along to help and love finds its way in. Caleb is the perfect cowboy with grit and cockiness that I just loved. These two work together to find the answers about the horses and to what their hearts need. Unfortunately its not that easy to distinguish between what the real motive is with the horses and who the intended victim really is. This is where the suspense comes in and keeps you wrapped up in the story. This was simply a lovely romance that included other family members and friends adding a feeling of community and real life.

Strong plot, wonderful love story

This is the third book in Donna Grant’s Heart of Texas series and reads well as a stand-alone.
I thought Audrey and Caleb were both likable characters and a good match. I liked that the small element of suspense added dimension to their road to their HEA.

My Favorite Cowboy can be read as a stand-alone, however, it’s the third book in the Heart of Texas series (I haven’t read the other books and this one read just fine). My Favorite Cowboy is a mystery and a romance.

Caleb has a problem. Something is wrong with his horses. It just doesn’t make sense. The horse affect seems to be random. The local vet is on the case. Audrey is suspicious of the horse's symptoms and with the help of their families, they will get to the bottom of the mystery. What starts as a witch hunt to find the criminals ends with a bond of true love.

4 star out of 5.

This is another great story in the Heart of Texas series and I think it might be the best. My favorite kind of story is the romance/suspense trope and this fits the category to a T. Great story and can't wait for more.

A closed off cowboy, a girl married to her work without time to date and a mystery to solve. My favorite cowboy is a great tale of wounds being closed and priorities changing in life. I loved seeing Audrey and Caleb falling in love and all the family connections in this book. It was the first book I read in this series, but now I want to go back and read the first two to know how everything started. It was my first book by Donna, but will not be my last!

It was super easy to fall for Caleb, Audrey and this engaging romance. I thought the plot was very enjoyable. It had a entertaining blend of romance, drama, powerful emotions and mystery. To me it was a bit of a slow burn romance but there is no denying the chemistry simmering underneath each and every one of these character's interactions. I liked it.

Well Caleb is now my favorite cowboy and this Heart of Texas series keeps getting better. Audrey is a very well sought after horse veterinarian. She is now trying to assist a family friend on several sick horses, but as the day goes on she needs more than her medicine to help these horses out.

This is one of those stories that make you feel the tension the couple has for each other. Caleb has his own demons he is fighting with, but as he spends more time with Audrey his feelings change. As they try and find why someone would want to hurt the horses Audrey finds people that pull her into their inner circle. She feels safe and finally feeling at ease with the East and Harper families. I loved loved this story so much and truly Donna Grant can write western love.

If I'm the light in the dark, you are the rock that steadies me. You offer shelter and stability. Your touch, your kisses showed me what it was like to be loved. And to love

Another wonderful book in the Heart of Texas series that has the perfect blend of romance and suspense (and cowboys!) to lead to a very satisfying happy ever after.

Just like his siblings, Caleb Harper has some serious abandonment issues that run deep and have him convinced that anything other than one-night stands and superficial relationships just aren’t in his future – anything more would be too risky and he’s convinced he could never trust anyone with his heart. What he fails to see is that the way he lives his life ensures that none of that is true – his love for his family, and the friends that have become part of his extended family, show just how deep he’s willing to forge a bond...but not until Audrey Martinez comes into his life does he even think love would be possible for him.

Audrey was such a great character. She is an awesome big sister to Maddy, dedicated to her career as a vet, and would do anything to save or help any horse who needed her expertise or attention. That leaves little time for romance, and knowing how devastated her father was when her mother passed, she always finds an excuse to end a relationship before it can actually get started. But when she meets Caleb there is an instant attraction that has her start thinking that maybe there could be more.

I fell in love with the East family in the previous book (book 2, but the first in the series I read), so it was no surprise that they got involved when their friend needed their help to figure out what was happening to his horses. It also was no surprise that once they got know Audrey and Maddy that they quickly added them to their family and committed to whatever it took to keep them safe as well.

Caleb and Audrey didn’t have an easy time finding their happy ever after and at times I just wanted to sit them both down and give them a good talking to and make them communicate with each other. There was also some family meddling – for the good and the bad – that impacted these two, but in the end, despite it all, I loved watching these two come together and figure out that love made them stronger and not weaker or more vulnerable.

This was another great read in this series and I can’t wait to see what the author has in store for the rest of the East clan. This one is a must read for anyone!
