I read this as soon as I received the eARC last year because everything Donna Grant writes I just can't wait to read them as soon as I get them.
As you all probably already know, I have been a huge fan of Donna Grant's books for a few years now and I have reviewed many of her books.
Anyway, My Favorite Cowboy is book 3 in the Heart of Texas series and I have to say that I have loved this book and this series and yes I loved this book so much. The story is well done and I love Caleb and Audrey together.
If you are looking for a good Romantic suspense book I do highly recommend this series. It is best to read the first and second book first I think.
I do highly recommend this.
I give this 5 out of 5.
"My Favorite Cowboy" by Donna Grant.
5 stars.
I loved it! I love cowboys, I mean who doesn't! He's cute, even sexy, he's everything you want him to be! Caleb and Audrey are well written characters.
A good romance with suspense.
I also really loved the cover.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of this book. This is my honest review. All opinions are my own!
This is the first book I’ve read by Donna Grant. I liked the plot of the story overall and the camaraderie between characters since this is an established series. I was a bit put off by the flow of the story though. I felt that it was dragged out a bit especially when the main characters procrastinated over things. It made me feel like the pace of the story was sluggish and I found myself taking a break quite frequently. But I can say that I’m not discouraged as yet and will be reading the rest of the books in this series as well as her others.

A very enjoyable, suspense-filled cowboy romance! My Favorite Cowboy was engaging, a page-turner, and filled with likable characters both familiar and new. I’m really enjoying this series from Donna Grant, and though the ending felt a touch rushed again (though not so much as in the previous book), I was left highly satisfied and wanting MORE. I really hope to see stories for Jace and Cooper (one of them with Maddy, perhaps?), and get answers to a couple of lingering questions.
All in all, a worthy, fun, sexy book, and one I would definitely recommend!
This is a sweetly thrilling, heartwarming and very real romantic journey that is both engaging and emotional.... really enjoyed this small town romance with so much heart and filled with so many interesting charters. Great read!
So I I don't know where to start with this book. The two main characters are running from themselves, from feelings and from commitment and anything revolving a relationship. The author packed so much emotion, and chemistry into this book is was jumping off the pages. The story really gets to the heart of matter, while it also has you on the edge of you seat wondering what is going to happen next, from one page to the next. I really enjoyed the importance of "family" in this book and how sometimes family is what you make of it. I so so am hoping that Maddy's story is coming, her free spirit really shined in this story even though her part was small. This book was so good and I really can't wait to read more from this author. There is some adult language and situations in this book so it may not be suitable for all readers. Over all this book is so worth the read.
A mutual friend's sick horses brings Audrey Martinez and Caleb Harper on a collusion course with each other. An attraction at first sight, someone trying to ruin Audrey's life, and the man she can't resist wanting to protect her. What can a veterinarian do but give in to the feelings and the safety of Caleb's arms. Will they find the people behind the acts of violence. A call from a family friend brings Audrey to the local auction house to look at some sick horses. She spies a very hunky, sexy cowboy who shows up. Caleb doesn't want to go where his feelings are taking him but once there he likes the feeling. Audrey and Caleb discuss their similar pasts with family and relationships. Audrey over hears an argument between 2 members of Caleb's family. A disagreement between them and a brother's interference put distance between them. Audrey and her sister go back home and clean up the mess left by a break in. They end up going to Caleb's family for help with who's trying to hurt her with a list of suspects. Caleb has been miserable with out Audrey and she the same. When he finds out that the person is after her again he's furious and vows to make sure the person pays. Caleb and his friends set up a servelance on Audrey's house. A confrontation between Audrey and the the person after her provides Caleb with a chance to help. Caleb goes into a bad period only to be brought out of it by his family coming with news. He doesn't know what to do but ends up where he needs to be to heal. Caleb and Audrey just miss each other when they decide they need to talk about the feelings. A man walking along the side of the road gets Audrey's attention. She reunites with a family member. She makes changes in her life. A proposal is made and accepted.
A suspenseful, sexy, passionate read about some of my favorite people cowboys. Donna Grant's Heart of Texas series shows life in the heart of Texas horse country. I wasn't sure how I would like this version of Donna Grant's books because all I've read before this was the shifter/paranormal series that she writes. I must say that I like both ways she writes. I look forward to more books about cowboys and shifters and maybe a combination of both.
4.25⭐
My Favourite Cowboy was a very enjoyable story. That had really likable characters and an engaging and at times gripping storyline. Not to mention a great mix of romance and mystery. And I would happily recommend it to others.
This is another fantastic book in the Heart of TX series. Each of these books can be read standalone. They are all wonderfully written with characters that are intriguing and well developed. In this one we have the story of former Green Beret now rancher Caleb Harper and equine vet Audrey Martinez. There is a nice blend of romance and suspense as Caleb and Audrey team up to uncover who is behind the mysterious goings on at a local ranch. They dance around each other for a while but in the end the attraction between them can't be denied.
I highly recommend this one.
My Favorite Cowboy by Donna Grant is book Three in the Heart of Texas Series. This is the story of Caleb Harper and Audrey Martinez. I have read the previous books, but feel you can make this a standalone book if you wish to do so. Caleb and Audrey are brought together when some horses are being poisoned and they are out to find out who and why. Both have parental issue that have set them on a course of all business and quick encounters but can these two find themselves too when looking into the mystery with the horses? Who doesn't love a good cowboy romance and the author being Ms. Grant it just a win / win situation....loved it.
New author for me and the story sounded interesting, so I was excited to get started. Sparks fly the first time Caleb and Audrey meet. Their past family histories provide an impediment, in their minds, to starting a relationship, however they come to realize after working together for the benefit of two injured horses, that a relationship is inevitable.
Caleb's family realize how deep his feelings for Audrey go, now he and Audrey need to come to terms with their feelings and what the future holds. This is all happening amidst someone trying to ruin Audrey's equine vet reputation and business. There's suspense, intrigue, and murder which all come together in a great story. Although third in the series, this book can be a standalone book. I do have to say I want to read books 1 and 2 in the series. I highly recommend this book.
I received a free ARC eBook from Net Galley and the publisher for an honest review.
A female veterinarian and a cowboy who is also a former Army Ranger (romance novel bingo) bond while caring for sick horses. CW for animal abuse. The goal is to find out what is making the horses sick while overcoming childhood trauma (both his and hers). The pair also bond over processed cheese and pizza. The couple get their HEA. This is book 3 in a series, but it can be read as a standalone.
2 1/2 Stars
Audrey is in demand as a veterinarian but when her friend ask her a favor to figure out why his horses are getting sick, she is thrust into a dangerous situation...can she and Caleb figure out before she gets hurt. Maybe if they can fight the attraction. If you enjoy loyalty, drama, suspense, thrillers with a lot of romance this is the book for you.
4 I want to be your Cowboy Stars
My Favorite Cowboy by Donna Grant is the third book in the Heart of Texas, but can be read as a standalone. The story begins with a passionate young veterinarian named Audrey Martinez. Her dedication for animals made my heart clench. But the story takes a turn at her friends ranch. Horses are mysteriously dying . . . and she can't figure the cause of death. But one thing is certain, foul play is at large.
The ranch owner decides they are going to need extra help, which brings in, Caleb Harper. A former military man who knows his way on catching the bad guys. While caring for the sick horses Audrey and Caleb becomes fast friends, but also so much more.
The attraction is undeniable and they can't keep their hands to themselves. I personally loved the suspense added to this story, gave it an edge that made this book unputdownable.
All I can say is “this book is a must read”.
It is mystery, romance and a ton of life lessons all wrapped up in one fabulous read.
Who was out to sabatoge Audrey? And why? How does there past affect Audrey and Caleb’s chance at having a forever relationship?
Read on and find out!
MY FAVORITE COWBOY is a fantastic look into love, life and learning to forgive and move on. Ms. Grant gives her readers a sweet romance that is surrounded with a very realistic sense of everyday life but with an added dangerous situation. In this case, it is believed that Audrey's friend is being attacked via his horses at his auction house. But is that really what the trouble is all about?
If you want a sexy but troubled cowboy, a feisty and troubled heroine, animals, danger, romance that is sweet and steamy and, of course, a happy ending get your hands on MY FAVORITE COWBOY!

Caleb and Audrey are both like minded when it comes to relationships and pretty much don’t do them. I loved that they both were on the same page. They are working together to find out who is hurting the horses. Audrey is a well sought after equine vet and I loved how passionate she was about the animals. Caleb is a cowboy and ranch owner who could be intense and closed off at times but he meant well. When you find out his backstory it all makes sense.
There are two other books in the series and even though I didn’t read them I didn’t feel lost. So in my opinion this is a true stand alone. I love the relationship the brothers and sister have with each other. I love how the in-laws get along. I felt like I was apart of the gang and I will definitely have to read the first two books.
This was my first time reading this author and it wasn’t a bad read. The last few chapters held my attention and I enjoyed how everything unfolded. When the villain and motive are revealed it was something I didn’t see coming. So that was another plus in my book. I really don’t read contemporary cowboy romance books but this was a good read with likable characters.
Audrey Martinez is a veterinarian who has devoted her whole life to the care and protection of horses. Who would have thought that a strange case of criminal horseplay would lead her to falling deeply, wildly in love? Caleb Harper is no ordinary cowboy. Sure, he wears his hat, boots, and jeans like a second skin, and displays an easygoing charm that comes from years of working on the ranch. But with his military background, and Army buddies at his side, he is tried-and-true Texas tough.
This is the third book in the series & the third & youngest Harper sibling Caleb has his story. It could be read on its own but as always with series I have to read them in order & this is a good series about the Harpers, they’ve all had issues about being abandoned & Abby had to raise her two younger brothers. Caleb doesn’t want to be involved with anyone but he’s thrown together with Audrey over a mystery surrounding horses being harmed. I particularly liked the mix of mystery & romance. I also liked that the book brought closure to the series. The characters were well portrayed. I liked both Caleb & Audrey.
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
My Favorite Cowboy by Donna Grant
Former Green Beret cowboy meets successful equine vet where instant attraction changes their live long habits into singular commitment dreams.
3rd in the Heart of Texas series and can be read as a standalone romantic suspense.
Lots of feels and emotions in this book. Plenty of empathetic tears as well as happy tears.
Deep family connections and solid friendships make this series a joy to read. Secondary characters added depth and interest.
Excerpt:
“She slowly lowered her arms and then met his gaze. Caleb wanted to pull her against him, to wrap his arms around her and tell her it was going to be all right. It was a gesture he had done countless times with other women, but he wanted it to mean something this time.
His brain froze, and instead of uttering reassuring words, Caleb sat there, seized by shock—and more than a little dismayed by what had just gone through his mind. He didn’t think about wanting more. With anyone.
Ever.”

I received a copy of this from NetGalley.
Right from the start Audrey is caught up in the mystery of who is hurting the horses. She's a well respected equine vet in high demand. Thanks to the Harper family, Caleb and Brice with their sister Abby's husband Clayton, Audrey gets protection and much needed help. This mystery plagues them for weeks and the suspects keep coming. It's an exciting story with suspense, romance, and tying up loose ends. I believe this is the last of the series but Jace and Cooper, family friends, could be possibilities for more. Grant delivers a series worth reading separately or in order. My copy was sent through Netgalley, review written voluntarily.
