I would like to thank the author and the Netgalley website for this partnership.
I was immediately drawn to the cover of this book, where you see a woman crouching at the water's edge, passing her hand over the surface of the water.
There is Rose, who lost her husband a year earlier in a plane crash. When a body is found in her house, everything will change. The real killer does it again, she's going to ask a policeman Royce Sawyer for help.
A book read almost in one go so much I hooked on the story so moving, captivating, addictive and full of suspense and twists and turns with endearing characters. Looking forward to discovering more books from this author who has an addictive pen.
Can wait to discovered another books to this author.
It was a nice enough story but had some distracting issues. For example, some plot points appeared out of nowhere, while other plot points were introduced but never developed. There were scenes that didn't have much to do with the story. But the biggest distraction -- and the biggest disappointment -- was that the story frequently required a HUGE suspension of disbelief.
A thrilling story with very unexpected twists and turns.I found myself guessing the culprit with every event that was happening and all turned out to be wrong.
Amongst all the events happening story of Sawyer and Rose touches your heart.I loved both the characters and their story.
This book was great! It had plot twists, moments of "I can't believe this is happening" and "how is this going to end"?! All the things you want in a great mystery / thriller book. There was also a small under current of romance that wasn't too much but enough to soften the harder edges of the plot. Over all, well written, a read I throughly enjoyed and an author I'll look to read again.
Twisted Rock is by far my favorite Jill Sanders book. I was totally blown away with all the twists in this one. All I have to say is I didn't see that coming. Just wow. This is one book you need to read if you love a good mystery. Your heart may break just a little for Rose as you read along. But you will love how Rose finds her strength again and is able to come back to the light. Even with Roses life turned upside down she still manages to find what she didn't know she need or wanted in Sawyer. I love the connection between Rose and Sawyer. They both bring out the best in each other as they try and figure out what is going, who is after Rose and why, and who is behind Isaac's death. Sawyer is amazing. He is the right cop to have by your side. You will love him and Rose together. There are a lot of skeltons that start to come out and you will be blown away once everything is revealed. I couldn't put this one down and was immediately drawn in from the start. Go one click this one because you will not be disappointed at all. Try and figure this one out, I sure didn't see it coming.
Twists and turns keeps you guessing until the end and everything isn't what you expected. Great read.

4.25 Hearts Wow! This was not what I expected. First Rose has the carpet pulled out from under her when she learns of her husbands death, then she finds out he had a whole other life she did not know of, and then (not even) last but not least she finds her husbands body when she is having the house worked on and the mistress is blaming her!
What more could go wrong? Oh trust me… in this story a lot more.
This is a keep you on the edge of your seat and can’t put down kind of book. So many twists and turns in this story that it will keep you up trying to read it in one sitting.
Not to be missed!

Rose’s husband dies in a plane crash leavig her devastated and unsure how to get through it. The story leads you on a series of twists and turns as they discover her husband’s body in her basement and try to blame the murder on her.
This is a must read for any mystery fan. I received a copy of this for my honest review.
The first two chapters I was not sure I was going to like this book. It started off with all this information but not much interaction with the characters. I will say this hang in there it got good, really good. This book has so many twists and turns right when you think you know who did it the author throughs you a curve ball out of no where and then you are back to guessing again. I loved how the love that Rose has in her heart for those she loves literally jumps off the pages you can almost picture her face in her mind. I really did not see the end coming I don't care how many clues the author dropped that was a shocker and so amazing. This book does have adult scenes in it but the author did it with enough info it might not offended anyone. This book was so good it is well worth the read.
The concept was good, however the execution left something to be desired. There was a staccato rhythm to the story, making the flow feel choppy and abrupt. Too many repetitive details also distracted me from the moving forward. The story is good, I just felt bombarded by the overly detailed descriptions.
This was a goody mystery, it took a lot of twists and turns. The characters were likable and realistic. Looking into how a woman would deal with the grief of her husband on to learn he had a mistress. Trying to move on while clearing her name. A good, cozy read.
Twisted Rock is the story of Rose Clayton, who finds herself widowed after her husband dies in a small plane crash. A year later, his body suddenly turns up encased in their home and things take a dark turn. Now Rose turns to her friend, local policeman Royce Sawyer to help her figure out what has really happened.
This was an easy to read story with a mystery to solve and a love story encapsulated within.
While I struggled with the book to start with, I quickly found my self immersed in the story. The characters were enjoyable and relatable. I think I fell for our hero Royce Sawyer along with Rose. This was a great read and just when I was sure I knew who the killer was, Jill Sanders threw in an interesting curve ball. I really enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it.
Some plot twists are so shocking you are truly blindsided, and this is one. A young widow must find her way as she escapes from overwhelming sorrow. Just as she begins to think she can emerge from the darkness into light a series of shattering events makes her past something she cannot recognize. The book will capture you and not let go until the last page.
Rose living in the city was lonely with Issac traveling a lot.First anniversary he bought a place in Twisted Rock, their hometown. Almost daily he was flying with a one and half hour commute. Two cops came to inform her, his plane and he were missing. She stopped working on the house or much of anything. The place was drafty and thought of selling. A storm comes, and one dead body is found in the basement, they are saying it was her husband..To find he had a mistress and a child, how much more will be added. She thought she knew him and to be betrayed this way. The town has always been talking now they are saying she is guilty. Except for one police office standing by her The story has plenty of twist and turns, with the emotion onebfeels for Rose, victim or was she guilty.
Good mystery as her books are always enjoyable to read. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion by Net Galley and Kobo Writing Life.
This was my first time reading this author and I found it quite enjoyable. I am not going to give a book report, others have done a fine job of that , and, the jacket cover gives adequate to information on the subject. Just my thoughts! I first thought it was heading toward a little too much romance and sex rather than mystery, but the more I read, the more intriguing it became. While you may think you are heading for a totally predictable ending, there are a few twists along the way. Not a heavy mystery/thriller, more like a rainy day or pleasant beach read. I will definitely seek this author's works in the future.
I read this book as a complimentary copy from the publisher via NetGalley for an honest review.
For me, this book was awful! It was cheesy and felt like it was written by a teenaged boy. (The romance and the dogs interaction with one another) The only surprising thing is that the person I was convinced of the killing was innocent. The ending ended up being nothing like I thought, but it didn’t change my thoughts on the entire book. This was just not my cup of tea.
I thought for sure that I knew what was going it, it was soooo predictable. WRONG! Boy was I wrong. Other than some repetition I absolutely loved this book.
Twisted Rock is a romantic suspense novel that is heavy on the suspense. Rose fell in love with her husband at the age of ten and now in her mid twenties, she thinks her life is a dream come true. Her world comes crashing down around her when a knock on the door opens to two policemen. With the news of her husband's plane disappearance over the Atlantic, Rose struggles to survive her grief over the next year. Police officer Royce Sawyer steps in as a much needed friend to Rose. He's there to help pick up the pieces when her husband's body is found in her retaining wall and danger seems to be stalking Rose. Rose faces some hard truths about the man she married and finds herself a suspect in his murder as Sawyer brings her heart back to life. As Rose and Sawyer grow closer the violence escalates all around them and the bodies start falling like flies. The story twists and turns as the author takes you down one winding road to only dead end and send the story off into left field for a tale that will leave your jaw dropped and with a sweet HEA.. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy from Netgalley.
Entertaining enough, but a bit convoluted. A lot of holes in the plot, weird dialogue, etc. A beach read would probably be the best thing I could say about this one. Cute with a bit of romance. That's about it.
A wonderful story with lots of twists that keep you guessing right up to the end. The characters are so true to life. A strong woman and how she handles death and deceit. Finding love and happiness.
