I became of fan of Kimberly Belle after reading THE MARRIAGE LIE (http://cmashlovestoread.com/2018/06/11/review-the-marriage-lie-by-kimberly-belle/) and then her subsequent books THREE DAYS MISSING (http://cmashlovestoread.com/2018/07/05/review-three-days-missing-by-kimberly-belle/) and THE LAST BREATH (http://cmashlovestoread.com/2018/08/15/review-the-last-breath-by-kimberly-belle/). I wasn't taking any chances of not receiving an ARC of her upcoming book, DEAR WIFE, so I was delighted when I received a copy via NetGalley and then surprise book mail in a print format.

As the synopsis states, Beth Murphy, her new identity, is on the run from her abusive husband. She has planned for this day for 10 months.

On the same day another woman, Sabine Hardison, goes missing. Her husband becomes the sole suspect when details of their marriage are brought to light.

Detective Marcus Durand, a veteran on the force, is determined to find out what happened to Sabine but is "gut feeling" is that she is deceased.

Following Beth's journey of her planned escape is tense and page turning. The suspense is thrilling throughout the book.

Without giving any spoilers, could these 2 women be one in the same?

The story is captivating and immensely engrossing! How it all comes together is mind-blowing! The ending is jaw-dropping and the reader will not see it coming!

If you haven't read a Kimberly Belle book and you enjoy thrillers, this is the author for you. Highly recommend this book and all of her previous books.

Dear wife focuses on the disappearance of Sabine and the story of Beth. While flipping between Beth's story and those involved in solving where Sabine went you will think lots of things. Just when you think you have things figured out, you realize how wrong you were.

Meet Beth Murphy. A woman who has been planning her escape for nearly a year. She has just left her sleepy suburb and is on the run from her violent husband. She changes her name, her appearance, and heads into the bustling city of Atlanta to become invisible.

Meanwhile, hundreds of miles away Sabine Hardison goes missing. Her husband returns from a work trip, to find her gone, having taken almost nothing with her. Shortly thereafter, her abandon car is discovered, with all signs pointing to foul play.

Where is Sabine? And who is Beth? The only thing that’s certain is that someone is lying and the truth won’t stay buried for long.

Dear Wife is about finding out what happened to Beth and Sabine. Are they one in the same or is there more to the story? Kimberly Belle uses multiple perspectives, including Beth and the detective investigating Sabine’s disappearance, to tell her story. She sheds light on the important topic of domestic violence, but does so while empowering the victim. I thought I had most of the plot figured out, but once again Kimberly Belle delivered a shocking (but believable) twist. A great read!

Wow what a read!! I could not put this book down, well done Kimberly Belle. Thank you Net Galley for the opportunity to read this ARC of Dear Wife.
Beth, the main character in my eyes, has escaped an abusive husband, Sabine is missing and her husband is desperate to find her. The police are involved in the missing persons case. As the story unfolds we realize these two women are not the same person. Beth is running and Sabine is missing. The story is written from three characters perspectives. Very well written and the characters brilliantly come together at the end. Characters are well developed, fast paced and i didn't know who did it until the end.
I recommend as a great read

Dear Wife

An engrossing and spellbinding drama of an abused woman taking back control of her life.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

SUMMARY
Beth has been planning for this day for over a year. She has saved cash, bought burner phones and even a new identity. It’s her new beginning. She has to be careful—one small slip and her violent husband will find her. But now is the time, and she is on the road.

A couple hundred miles away, Jeffrey returns home from a work trip to find his wife, Sabine, is missing. Wherever she is, she’s taken almost nothing with her. Her abandoned car is the only evidence the police have, and all signs point to foul play.

As the police search for leads, the case becomes more and more convoluted. Sabine’s carefully laid plans for her future indicate trouble at home, and a husband who would be better off with her gone. The detective on the case will stop at nothing to find out what happened and bring this missing woman home.

REVIEW
DEAR WIFE kept me on the edge of my seat the entire book. The story was engrossing. I read it quickly and enjoyed it immensely. My favorite part was a huge twist that I never saw coming.

KIMBERLY BELLE’s writing grabbed me when Beth merged onto the Muskogee Turnpike and watched in her rear view mirror as Pine Bluff, Arkansas faded away. Her writing was spell binding. She expertly delivered a portrait of a woman taking back control of her life from a violent and abusive husband. All the characters were colorful and stunningly well developed. The story is creatively told from three points of view.

Kimberly Belle is the international bestselling author of five suspense novels. Her third, The Marriage Lie, was a semifinalist in the 2017 Goodreads Choice Awards for Best Mystery & Thriller. A graduate of Agnes Scott College, Kimberly worked in marketing and nonprofit fundraising before turning to writing fiction. She lived for over a decade in the Netherlands and currently divides her time between Atlanta and Amsterdam.

Thanks to #Netgalley, #KimberlyBelle and Harlequin for an advance reading copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a pretty intense story about domestic violence. I was anxious throughout! But the story ends well and is an enjoyable read.

Full of twists and turns, this story has great suspense and is not as predictable as I thought it was going to be, a fact I really appreciated. Very “Sleeping with the Enemy” ish, but that’s okay because I liked that movie. I really enjoyed this book and am very happy with ending.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC. I am glad I took a chance on this new to me author.

Last year, I read and enjoyed Belle's Three Days Missing, so I was quite excited to get my hands on a copy of her latest book! Told from three perspectives, this is an entertaining, and fast-paced thriller. The "twist" to the end is easy to see coming, and I do wish that this hadn't been set as such a big reveal, because the three perspectives don't receive the same attention afterwards. It is still an enjoyable read, but not quite as shocking as I would have otherwise expected. The storyline, despite its predictability, is still exciting - and even the red herring parts are interesting enough. I just wish that the ending had been a bit more in depth - although, I did find the conclusion to be satisfying. All in all, this is a straightforward and page turning thriller that I enjoyed. I am definitely curious to see what Belle will follow this one up with!

How far would you be willing to go to get your life back?

This is the story of two women who are both victims of their husband's abuse.

Beth (Emma) is on the run across country she has changed her name and her appearance. It has taken her 10 months of planning and. accumulating funds to finance her new life..

Jeffrey comes home to an empty and unkempt house to find his wife Sabine missing

Beth arranges to meet a guy named Nick who will use a bankcard to withdraw money from ATM"s over a 5 week period, never in the same place and for various amounts of money. She set a trail for her husband Marcus to follow, but first she zig zags across the country.

Jeffrey looks for info on Sabine's computer as to where s he might be. She didn't return from a late night house showing. He discovers she's been having an affair.
He confronts her lover and discovers that Sabine is pregnant.

Beth leaves clues for her husband indicating she is in Tulsa when in fact she's in the opposite direction.
She gets a room at a boarding house and gets fake id which she needs in order to get a job.

The police find Sabine's locked car a t a supermarket parking lot with a burner phone in iI, all calls are to her lover.. The police verify there weren't any transactions on her bank card but she had 2 secret bank accounts with a significant amount of money in them.

Beth keeps checking on news of her disappearance and while doing so discovers that Sabine's body and has been found and that she was strangled. She knows immediately that Jeffrey didn't strangle her but Marcus did.

Sabine showed Marcus an Beth a house they wanted to buy but the bank later turned them down.
When Beth sees Sabine she recognizes that Sabine is also a battered wife
Sabine is the one who helped Beth with the plan to leave Marcus and she is the one who found Nick.

Sabine volunteered at a battered woman's shelter and interviewed the women.

Beth gets a job cleaning a church and she steals the collection plate money( $2,000.) .

Beth's husband is investigating Sabine's disappearance because he is a detective while keeping tabs/following Beth's trail.

Marcus is able to track Beth to Atlanta and when he finds her his plan is to kill her and make it look like she was despondent and killed herself.
Beth confronts him and tells him she set up the trail for him to follow her.to the motel she's staying at.
She leads him up to the rooftop and has him at gun point. She backs him close to the roof's edge and shoots at him (purposely missing him) but causing him to lose his balance and fall off the roof.

She is brought up on charges but evidence is found on Sabine's body that shows Marcus was her killer and proof that he was obsessed with finding Beth, therefore supporting her claim of self defense and of being a battered wife.

This was such an incredible book

** I RECEIVED AN E-ARC FROM NETGALLEY FOR AN HONEST REVIEW***

This was really good! I don’t want to say too much because I don’t want to spoil a single thing, but I really really enjoyed this. For one I enjoyed Beth’s chapters A LOT and seeing everything she’s doing to try and run from an abusive husband. It has you constantly guessing who’s who and what’s going on.

The only reason it’s 4 stars is because I didn’t figure out the twist probably about 60% through and it opens the twist up about 80% through, but other than that it was amazing!

This will make you think, cringe, gasp, etc.. a very good mystery/thriller in my opinion and worth the read! This is even one you can read over again just for Beth’s story alone and the hope it gives you!

Beth is on the run. A run she has been planning for over a year. She knows her husband will find her, it’s only a matter of time, so she has planned everything perfectly to avoid that happening. Meanwhile, Jeffrey has come home to an empty house. Nothing is missing, except for his wife. The police are quickly on the case and the lead detective is determined to either bring her home, or convict Jeffrey of foul play.

This book! I knew pretty early on that things weren’t as easy as they seemed, but I was all over the place trying to figure it out! It kept me guessing until the end. The story was wonderful, the twists were great, I highly recommend this book!

Jeffrey Hardison returns home from a business trip to find a messy house and no sign of his wife. But, she is a very successful real estate agent, who often has late night showings with prospective clients, so although he isn’t pleased that she isn’t home, he isn’t concerned. At first.

Her twin sister, Ingrid IS immediately concerned. She and Sabine speak several times a day, and they share everything about their lives with one another. She knows that Jeffrey isn’t the loving husband he portrays himself to be. And, that since Sabine is the main breadwinner, Jeffrey stands to lose a lot if Sabine leaves him.

“I wasn’t always this vindictive, but you weren’t always this mean. “

Beth Murphy is on the run. For nearly a year, she has been planning for this day. A day some people might call any other Wednesday, but Beth prefers to see it as her new beginning—one with a new look, a new name, and a new city. Beth has given her plan significant thought, because one small slip and her violent husband will find her. Only one person knows that she has left.

“YOU. YOU ARE COMING FOR ME. AND I WILL BE READY. “

Sure, there have been other suspense novels about battered women on the run, but I PROMISE you, the premise may not be new..but the execution is.

Kimberley Belle lays out some clues for you...if you follow along carefully you may think you have it all figured out. I had an A-ha moment at about 65% . I was partially right. Which is ok with me-because what that says to me is-no plot holes! And, there was just enough time left to resolve, but not rush the ending.

BUT, what was best. I wasn’t entirely right either. The author managed to still SURPRISE me, because there was more than one way that this story could be resolved...and ANY one of them would’ve been PLAUSIBLE, which is a MUST for ME, in my suspense novels.

I can’t wait to see what Kimberley Belle has in store for us next!

I would like to thank Netgalley, Harlequin-Park Row and Kimberley Belle for The digital ARC, I received in exchange for a candid review! This title will be released on June, 25, 2019!
