This was an emotional read, and might be a trigger for some people, due to the subject matter. It was a good solid read and recommended for someone that might need something else to enjoy.

This was a tough and intense story line. This was a book that had a very dark story. This was a story about a woman who was hurt by some men and needs to take her life back. Thank you NetGalley.

Based on the synopsis, I thought Wicked Games would be okay to read. I was wrong. It's a matter of taste I suppose. I don't care for the content of the story, so I read a little then gave up. Unfortunately, it's not the type of material I read. Thanks to NetGalley for an arc in exchange for an honest review.

Update 6th January 2019:
I felt terrible for not giving this a full chance and reading the whole book. So when the author emailed to say a new version was available on NetGalley but without the editing problems the first had incurred, I decided to give this another chance.
I think it was the initial editing problems that made the book feel like a script as I didn't notice this problem the second time.
However, I stand by my comments below that the story and writing seemed somewhat erratic. It was jumping all over the place, and it was really hard to keep up with all the different characters. Also, the scenes didn’t play out fully, and you would be jumping from one moment to about ten minutes later, and you were left baffled as to what was going on.
Overall, the book felt very rushed and not very well planned out.
I’m glad I gave it a proper go, though, but I will stick with the one-star rating that I initially gave it.

Review 14th December 2018:
I’m afraid I had to give up on this after the first chapter (out of the 115 books I’ve read this year I’ve only done that with two others, so it’s not a regular occurrence of mine).
The writing style was so bizarre, it seemed really erratic and all over the place. I didn’t have a clue what was going on; it was like I’d come into the middle of a book. I know when you start a book it’s all new and you have to find your bearings, but with this one, it just seemed impossible. It almost seemed more like a script than a novel the way it was written; I’m not sure if that was intentional?
So I’m really sorry, but this book just wasn’t for me.

Not sure where to start with this one. China ran and ran. Her daughter, Rose, was with the Grants in room 203 at Paradise Hills resort. China was searching for a "white stallion" man who was not intimidated by Chip (her father) and his cronies. This "stallion" to ride to Rose's rescue.

Chip was a golf pro and now he teaches at the resort. He likes to single out young (females) to teach. Once, he thought, China had been as cute as Rose before she deviated; gradually she turned and became distant. He did love China, though. China was in a (self-inflicted?) trap where all she did was offer sex to men. She thought all men were goats. Jak (her possible white stallion?) has his way with her but it is different, she thinks. She tells Jak that she lives and works there. She hawks sex - also she produced "wank" movies.(No surprise her first sexual experience was at the age of 6 - with her father.)

Sophie (a high-ranking cop) has been married to Harry (a cop) for 20 years and finds out he is a pedophile. A plan Chip set up was to get both Sophie and China in one swoop. Jak goes in the planned place to kill Sophie and China and acts tough enough. Eventually, he gets both of the women out of there. Now, Jak is no saint. he is ex-military - and currently works as a killer for hire. He does have some compassion and knowledge of right and wrong.

The remainder of the story carries a number of spoilers.

Very good read - too many characters to keep track of ? - but worth the time!

Many thanks to Boomslang Books and NetGalley for a different kind of read.
