Short story, quick read, mildly entertaining. Human sub=species are created to ensure possible negative evolutionary trends have a large enough population base in place as a countermeasure should they occur. One of a certain sub-species meets a girl and ends up losing his "powers" - coincidentally in the presence of one of those who create beings like him. Light reading for an evening.

If you like well-written science fiction, then you will absolutely love this! This is one of those rare gems where a trio a characters live in a world where alien existence in normal. I loved the style of writing- it was like looking through a rippling puddle into this world, and although this is a short read, it was a lot of fun! Highly recommend :)
