A lighthearted read set in the Cotswolds, MAYBE THIS TIME is a sweet, fun look at the goings-on of a village with heart. I really enjoyed the characters, and I was genuinely sad to say goodbye at the end to the lovely little village and their slightly dysfunctional, big hearted family. Jill Mansell’s latest is a fun read, perfect for the beach.
Another happy, comfort read from Jill Mansell. Although much of the plot is predictable that was part of the attraction of this happy easy read and it provided a useful tool after the trauma of finishing a much darker book. It takes you from Flat life in London to a Cotswold village and also to Majorca.
I recommend this as a good read if you are prepared to read late into the night and want an escape from the realities of life.

A most definite fun and charming read from beginning to end! An enjoyable and exciting ride--including pages filled with ups and downs and unexpected events. The reader will enjoy the challenges and the very satisfying adventures. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to read this title prior to publication--it was a total joy that I just loved!
I almost always enjoy Jill Mansell's novels, and this was no exception. I'm giving it only three stars because I think it went on too long, with too many artificial barriers to the central romance. But if you're in the mood for a pleasant romance set in the Cotswolds, give this a try.

s per usual a superb story from Jill Mansell!! The characters were all wonderful, and had my imagination running riot!!
I was taken to all different places, but I always thought, that if you are travelling from London to the Cotswolds, that would be 'travelling UP' not down!! But heyho, loved it anyway!!
As a US reader, Jill Mansells latest novel, Maybe this time, transcends continents. It is an utter love story through and through. Maybe this time will make you laugh, make you cry and most importantly, believe in love again. The story flowed well. The characters were well developed and likable, the story conclusions was expected and inevitable. The best love stories are the ones that end exactly how you want them to and this one provide perfect closure. 4 stars.
I should have known better! Every time I read a Jill Mansell book it’s the same - I can’t stop reading it! I started too late in the day, read late and had to force myself to put it down to sleep THEN - I woke up in the night and started reading again... good job the next day was Friday and I only had to stagger, bleary eyed, through one day of work. Did I mention that I love Jill Mansell?
Nobody writes about village life better - I want to move to the Cotswolds and make friends with the characters in this book. I devour the book then mourn that it’s over, and though I find the characters believable I’m unashamedly happy with the knowledge that I’m going to be left with a warm feeling at the end (though there were definitely a few tears on the way).
It’s hard to remember when I enjoyed a few hours reading as much as this - probably around this time last year!!
Overall this was a great book, exactly what you come to expect from Jill Mansell who I consider one of the chick lit greats. I can’t get away from the nagging feeling that the first few chapters were a bit clunky, they were needed to set the story but the jumping about confused me slightly. I would not use this as a reason to not recommend this book. The conclusion was satisfying and the story telling sublime.
Cute chicklit book set in London and a small village in the Cotswold region. Love and work drama, friendships, and love.
Not very believable for grownups, but hasn't every woman hoped for a happy ending and such good friends at least a few times in her life? Personally, I'd have loved to meet these villagers.
I did enjoy this book and was drawn to it because of the author. To be honest I found it a bit boring at times but that may be because I’m reading too much crime.
The characters are lovely and their lives are recognizable.
I am just in a different headspace right now.
Another fabulous Jill Mansell book. 100% loved it. Agonising slow burn romance, so torturous but worth it. The characters are so loveable, relatable and funny. You can’t put it down. I read this in one sitting. A great spring/summer read , light and happy but with plenty of emotion.

A fun chick lit book. Mimi enjoys getting to know the neighbors and friends in the town where her father moved to. Different life events have led her to spend more time there, develop friendships, and even a crush. This lighthearted story expands on Mimi's friendship with Lois, and leaves the reader wondering if she'll take the plunge and get together with Cal.
Ahhh....this book in one hand and an adult beverage in the other sitting by a beach and you're all set. Wonderful, fun read, I enjoyed it. Thank you publisher and net galley for this arc in exchange for an honest review.
I absolutely love Jill Mansell.
Thank you for the lovely read.
I was not sure how it would have a happy ending but we got there!
YAY!
This is a story with likable characters and a couple that's destined to be together, only it takes them forever to get there. Now I want to live in the Cotswolds for a bit...
Thank you to Headline and NetGalley for the ARC.
Mimi Huish is visiting her dad far out in the countryside when she bumps into the lovely Cal Mathieson who happens to live in the cottage just round the corner from him. She is dedicated to her career so only manages to visit occasionally but their paths keep crossing. It’s a long and tortuous route to love in this book and enjoyable. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A good, entertaining and fun read. It made me laugh and root for the characters.
I loved the engaging plot, the cast of characters, and the setting.
It was a very good reading experience and I hope to read other books by this author soon.
Highly recommended!
Many thanks to Sourcebooks Landmark and Netgalley for this ARC. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book, all opinions are mine.
Thanks Netgalley and the Publisher. I liked this book but I did not love it and not sure why as it was a typical Jill Mansell book.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book. This did not influence my review.
Another fun read by Jill Mansell. Sometimes, you just want a good chick lit book where you know exactly how it's going to end even before you ever pick it up, and this definitely did it well. It wasn't necessarily my favorite Jill Mansell book, but it didn't disappoint.
Drove me a little nuts to read about the character eating "fries" in the middle of the Cotswolds (instead of "chips,") and I also didn't love how the main love interest was made single (don't want to give it away,) but the ending was worth it.
This is a good, entertaining book. I even liked the cover-it made me smile each time I opened the book. Mimi is the heroine. She’s a modern girl. Her parents are divorced and her Father is living in the small countryside with his new love interest, Marcus. But Mimi isn’t embarrassed that he’s now gay, she’s glad he’s happy. Cal is the love interest of the book. But when Mimi first meets Cal he’s married and has a daughter. And that’s all the story I am going to reveal. It’s well written and the characters are nicely developed. I would read another book by this author. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read an advance copy for my honest review.
