This is a beautiful photographic armchair travel book along many famous hiking trails around the world. Maps and practical advice is also included. The essays are informative and easy to read. The photographs however make the book more than just a guide book. Enjoy
Thank you Quatro - White Lion Publishing and Netgalley for this ARC.
This is a beautiful book with amazing photography and details of many treks . It is perfect as a coffee table book and of course to inspire the reader to explore and complete some beautiful treks.
Beautifully done book with stunning pictures and great little informations on the different wander or trekking routed all over the world.
It's defiantly one those stunning picture books at if you lay it on the coffee table everyone will flip through it and be inspired or at least dazzled by the beauty of he pictures.
I loved that it doesn't only include European or USA treks and how the authors share about of background and helpful Infos on the trekks.
If you are looking for inspiration for your next tour, a beautiful book to flip through or a stunning gift for outdoor lovers? Give this a look!
Sorry I hadn't time to read this one before it was archived. I'm in college and have a big workload this year.
Trekking Beyond by Dave Costello, Billi Bierling, and Damian Hall is a gorgeous collection of photos from hikes around the world. The book is divided by continent and region, and gives a brief description of each hiking area. Most impressive is the massive amount of full color, beautiful photos of the scenery on these hikes. This would be a great coffee table book for outdoor enthusiasts, or for fans of lovely photography.
Packable guide to get you where you want to be? Certainly not. Pleasantly readable summary of the world's regions with one-page introductions to some of the more famous (and outright best) distance hikes? Yes. Coffee-table book filled to bursting with the best scenery on offer in resplendent visual form? Certainly. I doubt even these contents will get some people off their couches and down the shoe shop ready for a trek, but it may have some influence. Otherwise, this is just a gift book for the explorer in your life who's never actually at home. A small audience, then, but boy this was a pleasure.
Trekking Beyond is a beautiful book that will have you packing your hiking boots and making plane reservations.
I’ve been lucky enough to do several of the long hikes described in Trekking Beyond, including Kilimanjaro, parts of the Everest Base Camp trail, the Pacific Crest and the Inca Trail. I’ve got definite plans for others described in the book. But this is a book to stir wanderlust in anyone’s heart. This "look book” is intended to whet the appetite. It is no substitute for the planning guides of anyone serious about walking the trails. But what a “look book” it is. The beautiful photography and tempting descriptions of these walks is mouth-watering. I was doubly pleased to be introduced to some new trails as well as being reminded of some old favorites.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Great photographic book about the most iconic treks around the world. The photography is really beautiful and we mostly look at the pictures only! This is a great book for travellers and above all trekkers.
The photographs is this book are breathtaking and so inspirational. They want you to get out the door and start exploring. Packed with all the facts for the various areas and a nice backup map to show you the route of the trail. This book is a must for any trekker
Trekking Beyond is filled with breathtaking images showcasing the best trekking regions around the globe. This book includes maps for each region and offers useful information about the area. It covers interesting topics such as its history, the region’s weather and flora, the best trekking seasons—trek duration— and advice on accommodation. Highly recommend.

The photographs in this book are spectacular! What a beautiful book that will inspire readers to trek the world. It’s a book to dream over and to use for plans. I can hardly wait to look at a printed copy so I can see it better.
Wonderful photography! I didn't read too much about the treks as I am familiar with them already. Would have liked to contain more obscure trails.
This is a bucket list activity for me and to have found this book has brought that much closer to realising that dream. Gorgeous photography and maps, if trekking in the world's incredible natural spaces sounds amazing to you, this is the book for you.

This is a beautiful well put together book. The photographs are amazing. It was really wonderful to see the amazing scenery on various trails around the world. I am seriously considering buying a paper copy of this book. My husband is a trail walker and runner and enjoys reading about trail routes and other people's achievements. I really like seeing the scenery and reading about the trails as well. I am not capable of walking any of the routes and this is a wonderful way to see the scenery.
Thank you to Netgalley for my copy.
Wow, the photography in this book is truly stunning! The treks are grouped by region and include information about the area and a bit of history accompanied by gorgeous photos. My list of places I'd love to see in person someday just grew immensely!
Thank you to Quarto Publishing Group - White Lion Publishing and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this beautiful book in exchange for my honest review.
The blurb promises stunning photography and it is absolutely breathtaking. I lost count of the number of ‘Oh wow!’ moments. I was particularly wowed by the scenery in Europe, India and Canada. Initially, the inaccuracies in the writing annoyed me. A dale is a valley, not a hill, and William Wordsworth didn’t ever take opium. The author thought he was being witty but witty only works when you get your facts right. I only skim read the rest of the descriptions, partly because of that, but mainly because most of the treks are familiar to me so I didn’t really need to read them and also because I didn’t want to waste any time reading that I could spend looking at the fantastic photographs. This would be a great present for a keen walker.
With thanks to NetGalley and White Lion Publishing for a free review copy.
Trekking Beyond
Walks across the world's epic trails
by Dave Costello, Billi Bierling, Damian Hall
Gorgeous Photos! Made this couch potato almost want to get fit enough to trek some of the trails mentioned in this book.
In addition to the beautiful photos each trail and area is discussed with information including distances to be covered, historical information, what might be seen, days it takes to cover the distance and more.
As I looked at the photos and read about the locations and history I thought of characters in novels and movies as well as historical figures that no doubt would have trekked the trails of this book.
This is a book I would love to have as an addition to my library.
