A lovely romance set among rustic villages and white sandy beaches. What more could you ask for? I enjoyed this very much. I loved the peripheral characters especially the outspoken Elena and the disapproving Eirini and thought the author described the island just enough so you could imagine being there without sounding as if you were reading a holiday brochure. I will watch out for this author in the future.

I've had my eye on this novel for a long time. I love books set in Greece and this one sounded idyllic. The cover is so beautiful and it makes me long to visit the country! I love the bright colours, they really catch the eye and I just wanted to dive straight in.
The synopsis is right up my street as well, it's lighthearted, uplifting and makes you want to visit the location! Straight from the off I really liked main character Anna. She seemed really relatable, down to earth and just a simply nice person. When we first met Nikos, I was surprised with how he acted towards Anna and was a bit confused by the set up. The more I started reading, the more I loved it. I loved the location, the characters and the storyline. Everything was perfect and I loved the authors style of writing.
Anna arrived in Greece after inheriting a summer house in the beautiful island of Santorini. When she arrives, she meets Nikos and her grandfather for the first time and when she sees the summer house, she realises she has bitten off more than she can chew. Somehow Anna, along with the help of Nikos and his cousin Elena, manage to sort out the summer house and make it beautiful again, going along with the plans that Anna's father would have wanted. It seemed that money came from no where but I loved reading about the changes to the summer house and the changes in Anna and Nikos' relationship. It was nice seeing them come together and seeing their relationship blossom. As well as Anna, I really liked the character of Elena, she seemed really fun and just like Anna, a really nice person.
Overall, I loved this story. It's lighthearted, uplifting and easy to read. Will 110% make you want to visit Santorini! Thank you to the publisher for a chance to read an advance copy of this novel, which I have reviewed honestly.
Anna has been told over and over how her father left her and her sister after cheating on her mom. Now she is in her mid 20s, and she finds out he left his house in Greece to her and her sister. Catching her boss/boyfriend with another, and told to go to Greece to claim the house, she is not happy. Meeting gorgeous Nikos, who makes her walk and carry her luggage. is not fun. Naturally sparks still fly, and they do make a good couple. Ending felt a little rushed, and would have liked to see more of the grandparents. Otherwise, highly recommend this book.
I really enjoyed this delightful, fun book, having been in santorini a few years ago, I could envision the setting and appreciate the beautiful surroundings. Loved Anna and Nikos and what they overcame to get together.
This is a good romance novel. Enjoyed reading about a beautiful island and how the main character makes this island her home and the folks there apart of her life's future.
I'm holiday and this was the perfect read because it makes feel good.
I fell in love with the cover and the I fell in love with the book.
The style of writing, the descriptions and the fleshed out cast of characters made me crave to be in Santorini and root for the characters.
It's the first book I read by this author and won't surely be the last.
Recommended!
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine.
It was the cover that initially drew my attention to this book and set my imagination running even before i turned the first page. A wonderful story and made a complete change from the usual genres that i read. It is the first time that i have read a book by this author and am sure it will not be the last. Recommended.
My thanks to Netgalley and the Publishers for my copy. This is my honest review, which i have freely given.
First of all how stunning is that cover? The cover alone would have convinced me to read this book but when you add in a delightful cottage in a stunning location, a sexy love interest and a host of brilliant characters then you have a perfect summer read.
Do you know that feeling of warmth that washes over you the minute you read the first chapters of an uplifting novel and you know that it will be a winner? Well this is one of those books.
Anna travels to Santorini to claim an inheritance (a summer house) from her estranged father. Broke, alone and penniless she only intends on staying long enough to repair and sell the house but as she gets to know her family and the locals, she begins to change her mind.
I fell in love with Anna and Santorini immediately and I couldn't put this stunning book down. The words on each page just totally washed over me and took me along on Anna's journey. The setting is simply stunning and I really want to just go an live in the summer house by myself for a few weeks.
Anna is a delightful character although a little judgmental, it's easy to see why. As well as her personal journey and the romantic aspect of the novel, there is also the real story of what really happened between her mother and her father all those years ago.
In simple terms - if you love location romances then you'll fall in love with this novel too - it's a perfect summer read.
My first read from this author. Beautifully written. Sweet, light hearted summer read filled with a great range of characters that were depicted in great detail
'And the most vibrant thing on Santorini isn't the sunset but the souls who inhabit it...'
Oh my gosh I LOVED IT! This was honestly one of the best books I've read in a long while. You know those books that are just easy and happy, and leave you in a completely good mood? Yep, that was this.
Yes it was a bit predictable, but who cares? Why do books always have to be surprising? Personally, I love a good romance, and a happy ending was exactly what the doctor ordered.
The setting is gorgeous and so vivid, the characters are beautifully written, and the romance felt so natural and believable.
Do yourself a favour and read it! Preferably on a beach somewhere, but if not, it will definitely give you that holiday feeling.
The Summer House in Santorini is a story of a family whose bonds are severed and filled with hurt, lies, and betrayal. But is Anna blaming the wrong person for the pain of her childhood?
Anna and her sister inherit a summer house in Santorini when their estranged father passes away and discover that according to Greek law, one of them has to visit the island to formally accept their inheritance. With her sister indisposed and unable to make the trip, Anna visits the homeland of their father and discovers so much more than just the place she's seen in photographs.
Can she sort the truth from the lies?
A good debut novel from the Author, and an easy read.
I received an ebook from the publishers via NetGalley for the purposes of a review, this review is my own personal view and is not required to be positive.
Anna has a crappy job, a dead on arrival relationship and a host of other problems when she gets word that her estranged father has left her a house in Santorini. Eager for escape, Anna hightails it for the island, only to discover that the house is a dilapidated disaster. If she has any chance of living in the house or selling it, it’s clear she’s going to have to do a lot of renovation. A funny thing happens during the long remodeling process and Anna begins to like herself, her new life and a local cutie
