I read this a while back and it wasn’t a book that stuck in my mind long. It was a fast, fun read but I’m not sure that I would pick it up again.
This is book two in the City of light series. Monet and Luke made the choice to escape Titus and are now living in the Colony with those who seek God and are the truth seekers. Except is all this light really true or does darkness exist within the new world they are in. As they experience a new world we will see if they can survive it together and if its what they really want. This was a quick and easy read with limited world building.
Having read Wake, I instantly moved onto the next instalment, Wild.
Sherry Rossman shows a great-deal of improvement, in writing and character development. Creating something that is succinctly more engaging, and - jokes aside - wild, as it progresses. All details carry with them a monumental degree of intrigue, and the plot thickens in the richest way.
This was a very good book. After reading book one this book picked up the story line and held my interest. I can say book two was a bit slower than book one. Overall it was still a great read.
Wild is a fast paced story. It's lively enough to grab your attention and keep it until the end. A great read with twists and turns and likeable characters.
This book is the second in the City of Light trilogy. Monet escapes from the Triad by jumping out of the Seed, a building where all of their town’s seeds are stored. She is led to a secret colony hidden among a group of trees where fugitives from her town and generations of people who camouflage themselves by painting themselves like their surroundings are living.
Monet finds out that she is a part of this group because her mother was, but she has a difficult time adjusting to wearing clothing made from hides and eating meat.
Monet, her friend Luke, and others are sent on a mission to rescue the people in the town from a group called the Mountain Men, a murderous group of men intent on killing and enslaving the townspeople.
The stones that Monet has tell her and others about the past by showing past people and events they learn how to use the stones’ information.
Can Monet and her friends free the townspeople and make a future for all of rhe people?
This is book two in the City of Light Series and it is just as good if not better than the first book, Wake. I recommend you read Wake before you read this one. I can't wait to read the next book in this series. Thank you Darwin House Press via NetGalley for the free copy of this book. This is my honest opinion.
