Tara has had it with men, so when hits a large dog with her car, there’s no question that she’s keeping him. After all, dogs are faithful – unlike the men in her life. Max is on the run after he and his alpha escape a violent coup, exhausted he doesn’t see the car until it’s too late. While the woman takes care of him, Max has to figure out what his next move is, while keeping the woman he’s beginning to fall for safe.

This paranormal romance is a wonderful story that easily pulls readers in and refuses to let go. The characters are strong and quite captivating and the emotional turmoil of the story is heart tugging while also being sweet. That being said the story also has cheerful and fun side as Tara takes care of her new dog unknowing that he is really a wolf shifter.

The plot is fast paced and keeps readers in suspense throughout as readers wonder how Max is going spring his surprise on Tara, if his enemies will find him and how Tara will handle the surprise once the secret is out. The story also builds excitement and suspense when Max’s enemies do arrive and bring Max to the attention of another pack and then there is the added suspense of Tara having to decide whether to leave her old behind and move forward or sticking it out where she’s at and readers can’t help but become completely caught up in all the thrills and romance of this wonderful story.

I have read others by this author and have not been disappointed. That being said, while I did like this one, it was not my favorite Cheyenne Meadows book. It was a little fast, and a little tame, but still a nice way to spend a few hours.

I received a copy of Once Upon a Snowy Moon by Cheyenne Meadows from NetGalley. The book starts out with Tara being one thousand percent done with men. On the way home from a blind date fiasco, she accidentally runs over a dog and takes him home with her until she can take him to the vet to make sure he's okay. Hilariously, the dog is a werewolf named Max who's on the run for his life. There are some funny awkward scenes with Tara treating him like a dog, that I won't ruin for you, but they were some of my favorite parts. He decides to lay low being Tara's dog until he can get his strength back. What Max didn't count on was Tara being a sweet selfless person that does everything she can to help him, despite not being in a great place herself.
The first half of the book was pretty slow, but the last half had lots of action and romance scenes that really helped pick up the pace. The villain Garrison was a basic twirl your mustache and laugh maniacally kind of guy that was just a blip in the book. The supporting characters were great though. Xavier and Rose are probably my favs. I would definitely read a book about Xavier. He was charming, but still rebelliously sexy. And Rose was like a meddling Maggie Smith. (What kind of weirdo doesn't like Maggie Smith?)
Overall the book was an okay read if you're looking for a heartwarming paranormal romance.

I received a copy of Once Upon a Snowy Moon by Cheyenne Meadows from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Although I was not able to download/review on NetGalley before it was archived, I did read the novel later and was impressed with the writer, as well as the story she crafted.

Fast moving plot, likeable characters, and believable chemistry equaled an enjoyable story. I'd give it 3.75/4 stars.

I would definitely read future novels by Cheyenne Meadows.

This book was a blend of action, fated mates, and werewolf politics. Poor Tara really had a tough time in this book.

Tara’s been through the wringer, with the final straw being ditched on her blind date. On her way home in the snow, she happens to hit a “dog” which is actually, Max, the werewolf in his animal form. She, being the responsible kindhearted person that she is, takes him home, cleans him up, and feeds him. Max, now stuck in this situation but still hiding from some evil werewolves, easily develops feelings for his rescuer.

These two end up finally addressing the elephant (or werewolf) in the room, which opens a whole new can of worms. Can Tara give up her dream business and family home? Can Max overcome his hesitation in finding a mate? This may be the start of a whole new world of characters, but I’m not sure where they go next. The pack is still in a state of rebuilding, recovering from the evil dictatorship that Max was running from. This story wraps up nicely for Tara and Max, though, so you don’t need to worry about any pesky cliffhangers.

Tara thought men sucked as she gave a scathing glare to the guy who was suppose to be her blind date than ran into the the into the solid wall of a man in a suit. This guy would normally catch a woman’s eye but now he studied her and asked her f she was alright. She said yes and thanked him for asking. And said her date stank so she was going to get out of there.. Tara asked herself what was the use of going on a date when they all ended up being creeps. Loneliness followed Tara around day in, day out for the past few months. She saw her friends ll get married and going on with their lives to other parts of the country. It left Tara the last single out of a large group of good friends from Wells Dorm at State College. She wanted what they had. Happiness. Love. A companion for a lifetime. On her way home Tara hit something with the white out condition on the road. She got out and found a big dog - a dirty big dog. The dogs eyes opened and he whined. She got him on her coat and dragged him to the car and after a couple times she got him in the back seat. Max wondered how he got himself into these messes as he stared at the woman now bathing him in her tub. She made him the priority and that amazed Max. Than she told him his luck had changed he would have a home with her. Max was subspecies hybrid - he was a cross between an arctic wolf and an Eastern timber wolf- gray wolf. . He was a wolf shifter. Max studied her and her traits - something he’d never seen in the same package. He’d never seen anything remotely resembling empathy in any of the pack females. The rare human women he had crossed paths with didn’t seem to have the ability to love or even capable of anything more than their own agendas. So this woman seemed to be the exception to the rule but time will tell. Over the past several months Max had been on his own. He hadn’t given up yet but he was close. With nowhere to go and fear of being caught by his pursuers Max just kept moving around. Searching for a new place to stay. He had no phone. no money, and no ID or clothes so being human was pretty much out. He kinda made it as a wolf. He was to weak too even shift right now. He hadn’t eaten for three days. Hid best and only friend n the world was Jacques. He didn’t know if Jacques had survived from his injuries. Max longed to know how he was and had no way of finding out. Max thought maybe this could be a safe place for a couple of days. Max’s survival depended on him being aware and observant. Max had been driven out of his pack and barely escaped alive. Tara went out and shoveled a path to the woods where Max did his business. No one had ever done anything nice for him but she did. Max knew his pack wouldn’t stop trying to hunt him down. Not after he stood toe to toe with Garrison and lost while disobeying a direct order. Max knew he had to leave he tried Tara was Tara was so heartbroken he came back to her. Now Max knew he had to tell her what he was. One afternoon she came home and found a naked man -except for a towel around his waist - in her kitchen. Max told her who and what she was and showed her. She finally believed him and accepted him for what he was. Max got a hold of Jacques and he had survived than one of Garrison’s goons tried to take the local alpha’s -Brighton mate Abby. Tara helped the pregnant human woman- Abby . Her mate Brighton came to get her and assured Max he would stand with hikm against whoever Garrison sent and was watching over them. Max knew Garrison’s men would attack when Max least expected it and was vulnerable and would use Tara against him. Max knew they had scented him on Tara.
I loved this book. I loved how brave and caring Tara was. I loved at Max’s weakest time Tara found him and took care of him and did whatever she could for him. I loved Max and Tara together and how they interacted with each other. I loved how Tara stepped into help Max when one of Garrison’s men seemed to have him down. I loved that Brighton offered his support. I loved how Jacques and Max was so close. I happily found nothing to criticize in this book. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I highly recommend it.

I just could not get into this book. I read several chapters before giving up. I have never read a book by this author before, and I don't think her writing is my style.

Once Upon a Snowy Moon by Cheyenne Meadows is the story of Tara and Max.
Max is a hybrid wolf shifter who is on the run from his former pack who are out to kill him after he helped the former Alpha leader. Tara is heading home after another failed date and thinking about just giving up men when she hits a 'dog'. Tara takes the dog home and names it Cotton but in actual fact it is Max in his wolf form. Max is not used to the kindness Tara shows him in his wolf form so he is slow to leave her. But she does learn the truth and feels between them go to the next level. But then his past comes back for him.

Tara leaves to head home after another bad date. Suddenly, something jumps out in from of her, and she hits it. Finding what she thinks is a dog, she drags him into her car, then into her house, and cleans and feeds him. While she calls him Cotton, because of his white color, his real name is Max, and his is part arctic wolf, hence the color. Running for his life, he decides to tolerate staying with Tara until he heals, plus he reacts to her kindness. A good story, and glad the bad guy part isn't very long. Did skim a bit, especially the sex scenes, but overall enjoyed this shifter romance. Would recommend.

Thank you Netgalley for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This was a decent shifter romance with some humor since the hero has to pretend to be a dog so he does not frighten the heroine. Good solid writing with a sweet lovable heroine. Enjoyed it.

Humorous!

Sweet and funny love story with a dash of action. In my opinion it was too long. I found myself skimming to get to the good stuff.

I voluntarily read an advanced copy.
