This book made it to my list of best books so far for this year. Absolute page turned of a book guaranteed to keep you up past bedtime. Not to be missed.

This book was such a thriller, I couldn't put it down. This is a story about a couple that get married and live happily ever happy. Or at least thats what Claire (the wife) hopes for. She soon starts to become suspicious of her husbands activities and where about. She later starts seeing people following her that look familiar. The is a turn paging book that will leave you thirsty to find the ending.

Many thanks to Sarah Mitchell and Bookouture for the opportunity to read and review this book. The Couple is an exciting fast past book. Be prepared to dedicate some time to this read as it is hard to put down. It kept me guessing till the end too. Totally enjoyed it.

I really liked this book yet found that it was hard to follow at different parts. Claire and Angus have stepped away from the home that they originally were going to purchase to buy a house from Mark. Claire ends up getting involved with Mark and finds that things are just not what they seem. She has to figure out whether to trust herself ad her track record, or trust the man she loves. Thanks for the ARC, Net Galley.

There were a few storylines in this book, and it's almost like they were written in different voices. Some great twists but overall not for me.

Free copy from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this book even though I found the characters a bit unlikable. Claire marries a man, Angus, after a quick courtship, but is attracted to Mark, who they are buying a house from. There are so many twists and turns that when you think you know what's going on, your wrong.

A deeply dark story that takes you feel into the suburban criminal underground.

As the story twists and turns to a somewhat unexpected end you can't tell what will happen next.

Amazing. I loved this book from the beginning to the end. This book had me on the edge of my seat on more than one occasion.

This book had some amazing twists at the end which I didn’t expect
A fantastic book

I wasn’t the biggest fan of this book. I am usually a fan of stories with a dual timeline, but this one didn’t seem to work for me – it was a little too choppy and hard to follow. It took forever for me to get into the book, which is a sure sign I’m not going to love it. The characters were well written but I just didn’t connect well with them. I did manage to finish this book and while it was not for me, I am sure others will enjoy it.

Thanks to Netgalley for this book! There is an awful lot going on in this story, following Claire whom seems torn between several men, one who seems to be dead but she can't forget, one she's engaged to but doesn't seem to sure, and one that is a fling with complications. I have to admit it was often confusing, especially the constant looks back at her life with Dan, who seemed liked a real loser! I did finish it, and it made a little more sense once it was all over, but quite a trial getting there! (le

The picture perfect lie...this kept running through my mind as I devoured this story.

The Couple is a well-executed psychological domestic thriller.

In a market saturated with domestic insanity, The Couple was a breath of diabolically fresh air.

The characters are atrociously realistic - true depictions of what we see in real life. I loved them! (Note to reader: If you are seeking perfectly sound characters, who make wise decisions, stop reading now. This book isn't for you, as you will hate everyone.)

While it fits the current literary trend to dive into the psyche of the mentally ill, The Couple is not for the 'light' reader, as the tale demands your attention. There are phenomenal twists that can easily be missed, or confused as an editing error, if the narrative is not followed closely.

Highly recommended for readers who enjoyed The Wife Between Us.

Thanks Netgalley and the Publisher. The Perfect Couple seems to have it all but things are not always as they seem. This was a great read from start to finish. Highly recommend

Fast paced page turner. Some aspects of the book felt unbelievable e.g. the relationships between Claire and Angus. I enjoyed the twists which were surprising, although did take a bit of flipping back to understand fully what had happened. However, overall it fits into the good psychological thriller category and worth a read.

I have been searching awhile now for a book that would give me a good shocking twist, and this book delivered! I love alternating timelines because I think it really adds to the suspense. This story kept me guessing the whole time, but I was not even close with my guesses, and that makes me a very satisfied reader!

Interesting book , a few twists and turns with fairly likeable characters but as soon as her career was mentioned I knew what was going to happen, not a bad book though

So my brutally honest review is that it shouldn’t be taken too seriously! I had read so many negative reviews I was really put off reading it - but I loved it! Totally unbelievable - but I like that in a book some times! I thought I had mis read the big twist, but upon re-reading it I discovered it really was that shocking!! Cleverly written, in fact I think Sarah Mitchell has an exceptional talent! Yes Claire was stupid and annoying, but when you realise why it all makes sense!
I struggled to put this down and suggest if you want a well written, clever, original book that’s a bit far fetched then pick it up!

This was just too much for me. At times it was too confusing to keep track of the story threads and the narration and timeline. This could have been decent, but definitely needed more finesse.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC.
This book was good. Not great. I did enjoy the story and writing but it was slow. I couldn’t really feel for the characters. I am big on character development and this just didn’t have it for me.

Claire works for the Home Office Immigration Service, not technically a lawyer, but she helps with appeals of decisions made regarding the status of a petition of residency. She's overburdened with the desperation of the petitioners and the work, but things are looking up for her now that she's met and become engaged to Angus. Yes, they've only known each other about 4 months, but Claire is quite pleased at the uptick in her living situation and future domestic arrangements in a beautiful new home that they got at a great price. When Claire meets the previous homeowner, Mark, she's struck immediately by how much he reminds her of an old boyfriend, Daniel. Perhaps that's why she soon finds herself in a huge mess...NO SPOILERS.

I was as confused about my feelings after finishing this book as I was at the beginning. My first thought upon finishing "The Couple" was, Why did I bother to read all that!? It was confusing and wholly unbelievable. Add to that the main character, Claire, quite possibly the most unlikeable person I'd ever read. She had zero morals and no redeeming qualities that would make her even halfway likeable. She was insipid, greedy, and completely stupid. The girl had the sense of judgement of a blow fly. The two male romantic characters, Angus and Mark, were also creepy and stupid, but we only have Claire's perspective to judge by. Other nominal characters were vague and not very well drawn out. I had to force myself to finish and the conclusion was so disappointing that I wanted to send Mitchell an email asking her to not write any more books. I usually reserve judgement for fledgling authors, but this attempt was so poor I was almost angry at her (and myself) for wasting so much valuable reading time.

I will admit that Mitchell may have some meager writing talent, but the plot itself was disjointed because it depended 100% on my willingness to shake away any common sense regarding the decisions Claire made throughout this book. I didn't care for this one, and I feel like a terrible human being for writing such a negative review. The author must have worked hard on it, I get it. But the bottom line is that it wasn't suspenseful, twisty, or enjoyable in the least.
