Kate Grable became a national hero after she discovered a cure for the zombie virus that was running rampant through her high school. Little did she know that would just be the beginning of her fame and notoriety.

When Kate's brother Jonah discovers a dead girl at one of his gamer meetings, something suspicious is clearly afoot - something suspicious AND hairy. And now that something is going around trying to kill people. Could it be... werewolves? That's what Kate has to find out, and if she doesn't soon, she could be the next victim on the list of bodies that seem to be piling up.

In Bad Hair Day Carrie Harris reminds us what we loved so much about Kate in Bad Taste in Boys. She is just as sassy, geeky, and quirky in this go-around as she was the first time. And in this book, we even have the added benefit of seeing a jealous Kate when another girl tries to steal her boyfriend out from under her. And if you're familiar with Kate at all, given that thought, hilarity is bound to ensue, right?

Bad Hair Day by author Carrie Harris is a book that I didn't really know much of when I requested it. I hadn't heard anything about it, but the summary sounded really good. Sadly that was all that ended up sounding good. I didn't enjoy this book.

This will post on my blog on September 17th.
Thank you for the galley

I enjoyed the first book Bad Taste In Boys, so when Bad Hair Day came out, I was super excited to read it. Then life and other books got in the way and I wasn't able to get around to reading this sequel until now!

It was exactly what I was looking for. Fun, fast paced and easy to read, the sequel picks up right where the first book left off. Kate Grable has just saved the world from the zombie outbreak and she only wants a normal life with her boyfriend Aaron and her best friends. And then, of course, something goes wrong. The mix of a very overly aggressive girl wanting her boyfriend, Kate's own vulnerability and uneasiness at her new relationship, her fearless attitude towards science and her moral compass make this book so much fun.

Kate is a fully formed character who loves science and isn't afraid to show it. She has loyal friends, a loyal boyfriend. There's little to no girl drama, which I love. (Can't girls get along? Like EVER?) I love how nerdy Kate is and her inner monologue is hilarious. I got all of the jokes and wildly appreciated them. I'm sad to say there isn't a third book in the series (I was hoping for Kate to solve some vampire disease!).

The plot moves super fast which is refreshing. It's on the shorter side, but the length really adds to the charm. There's a lot of action in those pages, it's a very lean book. I admit, this book came at a great time for me too. I just finished a large YA fantasy that I loved and I needed something totally different and less serious. This book was perfect. I read it in one day (early morning before baby work up and under my desk at lunch). I laughed out loud and rooted for Kate and her crazy science brain and fast thinking.

I love you Kate Grable!

I made it through 60% of the book before finally setting it aside. It was totally unrealistic and it wasn't funny. I did like Katie and the way she handled the situation with Aaron. However, it just wasn't as fun as the first book. I appreciate the opportunity to read the book. However, since I did not finish, I will not be rating or reviewing the title. Thank you.
