I first have to say generally I like Katy Evans books but for some reason I had a hard time with Million Dollar Devil.'s two main characters Lizzy and James. I think the back and forth between them started to feel stale and I felt Lizzy seemed like she was 18 and not 25 in some of the things she said and did. I also had a hard time with the conflict during the last 3rd of the book it didnt make a lot of sense. That all being said I did enjoy getting to know James and his back story, especially his relationship with his younger brother. To me that was the best relationship in the story.
All in all like I said Million Dollar Devil was good and I am looking forward to book 2 in the Million Dollar series.

Katy Evans has forever ruined me when it comes to book boyfriends.
I loved Million Dollar Devil. James is a different kind of character. He's a bad boy, which Katy writes so good, but he's a daredevil bad boy, which is new. The chemistry is off the charts between him and Lizzy, from the minute they first meet.
Lizzy needs someone to be the face of the new line of suits for her dad's company. She's offering up a cool million, but unfortunately that's not enough for the well-known gents in town. Enter in James, a YouTube personality who is known for filming his daredevil stunts. This is the perfect project, right? Take this sexy and rough-around-the-edges guy, polish him up and put him in a suit, and boom, the perfect face for the new line. Lizzy's plan is seamless ... until feelings get tangled up in things. And that's where the fun starts.
What I enjoyed the most about Million Dollar Devil were the interactions between James and Lizzy. There is funny and witty banter, flirting, and some choice words exchanged. The relationship they develop felt natural to me, like they were just meant to connect at some point in time. I liked how James would push her buttons in just the right way. Lizzy was often tongue-tied, which kinda annoyed me a little bit, but not enough to detract from the story itself. These two are polar opposites but man oh man, do they complement one another perfectly.
As with all well-crafted characters, James has a few cards hidden up his sleeve that are surprising and endearing. He's a bad boy on the outside and a sweet, gentle soul on the inside, and I enjoyed the moments when that sweetness and vulnerability slipped through.
This plot is unique, characters are great, and there was a good balance of flirtiness, angst, drama, and romance. I was able to read this book pretty quickly and, as with every Katy Evans book, I was craving more and more the further along I got. I won't give away too many details, cause I don't want to spoil it for anyone, but this is the perfect book to pick up if you're looking for a fun, sexy read this summer.
Five stars to this novel!

This was a hit and a miss book for me. I liked Lizzie and James early interactions. The back and forth banter had me giggling. Loved James he is a take me as you find me kind of guy. Lizzie has been brought up by her dad and is a male dominated work environment so I was disappointed that she got so tongue tied that she couldn't form a sentence at times. There were parts of the story that just seemed to drag on and on and the drama at the end just seemed unnecessary.
Although this book didn't wow me I'll still be looking out for the next book from this author.

I should of listened to my girl. She knows when something will or won't work for me and this just didn't even come close. I should have kindly begged off after requesting. I shoukd have DNF'd. I should have never even opened the book.
James, you hands down made this book. Sorry I had to give it such low stars, dude.
Elizabeth, you hands down suck. I couldn't find anything about you that was likable. I tried. And there were moments I thought you'd break through that wall, but then you opened your mouth...
P.s. I would take hanging with the "garbage" and "sewer rat" any day if the week over your pretentious, snobby ass.
As other reviews have stated, the repetitiveness became quite monotonous. So much so I started skimming. I didn't miss out on much; no matter where I landed it was the same ol' same ol'-prettying up the "gutter trash" and will they or won't they.
I don't get what Jimmy saw in Lizzy but the chemistry was there when Elizabeth wasn't fighting it or acting better than James.
Anyway, I would not recommend. If you want to read Katy, start with Real. One of my all time favorite books.

3.5* This story was fun and light and I enjoyed it. It was sexy and sweet and the hero is definitely swoony. I was not as much a fan of the heroine in this story. However, I had a lot of fun reading this book and I love Katy's writing. I can't wait for more from her.

This book surprised me. On the surface, Elizabeth has been trying for years to prove herself to her father. The new line of men’s clothing for Banks LTD falls on her shoulders. As she works to find the right man to sell this line, she strikes out and finds herself in a bar. She crosses paths with Jimmy Rowan, daredevil extraordinaire in a bar fight. She sees something in this guy and knows he can be the look they need. She polishes the diamond and Jimmy steps up delivering everything needed. Along the way, Jimmy’s no-holds bar approach to life draws Elizabeth in and she finds a place where she can just be herself. Jimmy, aka James, had to step up and raise his younger brother. They make do and have a lot of love in their life even out of tragedy. You can dare him to do just about anything for not a lot of money so when Elizabeth offers 1 million dollars to become James and sell her suits, well, he can’t turn it down. What will the real cost be as he embraces this new world? So who really is the teacher? Will Elizabeth finally prove her worth to her father? I loved how Jimmy kept pushing Elizabeth’s buttons, giving her an outlet, she so desperately needed. Their chemistry is sexy and fun which kept me entranced. And truly, by the end, Jimmy held my heart. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

I loved Million Dollar Devil. It sort of reminds me of a reverse Cinderella story in a way. Once you read this you'll see what I mean. I love James. He is a little reckless but does it to help make ends meet when it comes with care for his brother. James has big heart and a lot of passion. There is no denying the sparks between James and Lizzy from their very first meeting. Lizzy is out to prove to her dad that she is to be taken seriously when it comes to moving up in the family company. I love her drive and just watching her blossom along with James. You feel their love start to grow with each interaction. This book is hot and I couldn't put it down. I'm dying to read the next book. I love what Katy Evans brings to the pages. Be sure to keep a fan close by when you start reading Million Dollar Devil, because this seriously sexy opposites-attract romance from Katy Evans is bursting with scorching-hot sexual tension. It’s a modern twist on My Fair Lady in which a rich, powerful CEO, Lizzy, picks a YouTube stunt-man-for-hire to pretend to be a sophisticated, wealthy playboy for her company’s latest marketing campaign. James is unfiltered, unconcerned with social niceties and ruggedly charming, and she’s determined to make him into the ultimate posh gentleman. Lizzy soon discovers that her definition of perfect might be all wrong, and a man like James is perfect just the way he is.

I have not read Katy Evans in quite some time, this one looked interesting. Also, hot cover.
I have to say it started a little slow. I knew the gist of the story from the blurb, but the characters really drew me in. Their struggles and stories separately were relatable. I loved how different they were, but not really.
I loved the ending.
Can't wait for more!

I’ve read several of Katie Evans books.. and I have loved them all.. this one I didn’t LOVE but I really liked it. I had requested it via NetGalley and was approved. I think the thing that threw me was Lizzy. I think a lot of that had to do with her trying to prove herself to her father. She knows if she wants to eventually take over one of the Biggest and best Mens clothing like in the country she needs prove she has what it takes.. and what it takes is bringing in a hot new model to show off said clothing line. Enter James Rowan.. or Jimmy to his friends.. he is a up and coming YouTube daredevil with lots of followers..
Lizzy meets him in a dive bar not in her neighborhood.. With a offer no one could refuse.. will James take it..? Can Lizzy turn in into the next big thing..
I really liked this book.. and cant wait to read more.

Elizabeth Banks is always trying to impress her father. Always trying to show him that she can run his company just as well as anyone else. She is pushing for CEO and their new launch for men's suits may just get her there. Lizzy has to find the perfect man to be her model for the new men's line. When all the top profile men turn her down she finds herself drawn in by a man that her father would not approve of. However Elizabeth is sure she can make him into the perfect man.
When she exceeds her own expectations and the entire country agrees she decides that James Rowan was already the perfect man for her. Now he is being pulled away by all those wanting to buy into their lies. Will the truth come out about James? Will they realize they don't need all the money to be happy they just need each other?
I completely enjoyed these characters and the strive for power and need to show she could do the job.

These characters got me hooked right from the first chapter, I devoured this story, highly recommend this book and author

This is the first book in the Million Dollar Series. OMG! I love this story so much! The story is beautifully written, fun and sexy. Jimmy/James and Elisabeth/Lizzy are such great characters. Jimmy is really handsome and caring. They share a beautiful chemistry. I like their slow burn story. Charlie, Jimmy's brother, is also a great character. The other secondary characters are also interesting. The ending is beautiful. I totally recommend this story. Now, I can't wait to listen to the audiobook version of this story, and for the next book in the Series!

There is nothing more wonderful than a great book, one that pulls you in and entertains while giving you all the feels. Katy Evans's Million Dollar Devil does all that and more!
Add in a slow burn romance and chemistry hot enough to cause spontaneous combustion and you have perfection on the pages.
Elizabeth "Lizzy" Banks is a character I can understand and relate to, especially the pressure she is feeling to not only have a successful campaign launch with the perfect man for the brand, but to also impress her father into considering giving her control of the company he founded after he steps down. That's a lot to handle, not to mention extremely stressful. Initially I thought how she kept putting Jimmy down as needing work was a bit excessive, but I realized while it may have come across in a demeaning way, she was unable to balance her attraction to him while handling all of that stress so she used that technique to convince herself it wasn't worth pursuing anything with him. Watching her learn about what kind of man Jimmy was and learning how wrong she was. for me. very satisfying.
And what can I say about James "Jimmy" Rowan? The man is beautiful and talented and has a heart of gold. He wasn't perfect either, but watching him take care of Lizzy and handle everything thrown at him was uplifting and super-sexy. I mean how can you not love a man who will go the extra mile to protect and provide for the people he loves? I loved how he was willing to take risks to do that, but still a man of character. It bothered me he kept putting himself down, but I realized it's difficult for most people to acknowledge their better qualities. I mean if all you hear from others is how low, dirty, and unsuitable you are, you will start believing it, so it's not difficult to understand why Jimmy would put himself down. I loved that he wasn't willing to tolerate when it came to his loved ones! He's a wonderful addition to the canon of Katy Evans's heroes!
Lizzy and James together burned up the pages! Katy Evans is a master at crafting romantic tension and then elevating the anticipation to almost unbearable levels before delivering in the best way possible. I absolutely adored watching their love story unfold. I loved meeting Luke and can not wait to read Million Dollar Marriage and get to know him better. I loved how he was there for Jimmy and a great friend. I hope Lizzy and Jimmy have some cameos, but I'd love to see more of them!
Million Dollar Devil is the perfect summer read- hot, sexy, entertaining, funny, and will tug on your heart-strings. Lizzy and Jimmy have to work through things to find each other, but it is so worth it! I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did!

What kind of man would you pick to be the next Million Dollar Man? Elizabeth Banks is determined to make her Daddy proud. In doing so she needs to create the "perfect" man for the new Banks, Ltd suit line for her father's clothing company.
Elizabeth (Lizzy) didn't expect to come across James (Jimmy) Rowan. She can't believe her luck though. It will take some doing but she's determined to make him into the new face of the Banks, Ltd line.
There's trials throughout this process because let's face it - everyone's definition of perfect is different. Lizzy wants James to be the most romantic, perfectly mannered, smoldering man who looks every bit of a million dollar man.
James just wants to give his little brother better choices and experiences than he had. When Ms. Banks approaches him with this deal to be their new face he couldn't pass up the million dollar deal. Though during the process of living up to her rules there's something about her that he just can't resist.
Of course you know there has to be some obstacle standing in their way, or several. Overcoming them seems to be the biggest obstacle of all. The way these two characters are together will warm your heart. James Rowan has smooth moves and Lizzy melts like butter. Oh, I have a feeling you'll enjoy this contemporary romance. It hits all the smoldering triggers.

Million Dollar Devil by Katy Evans is the first book in the Million Dollar series. It is a stand-alone and OMGGGGG it was so good! It was not what I was expecting at all. From the very first chapter it sucked me in and did not let go! It was a slow burning, exciting, and captivating read that I couldn’t put down. Million Dollar Devil was full of chemistry that was off the charts hot and characters that are unforgettable.
Socialite Lizzy Banks is desperate to prove to her father that she can run a billion dollar empire. She will do just about anything to get that approval-like creating the perfect man for the new men’s line that’s coming out. Too bad she doesn’t realize that by creating the perfect man, she was setting herself up for heartbreak.
YouTube sensation Jimmy Rowan will do just about anything for a dare. He’s charming and lives life from one daring adventure to the next. So when he meets Lizzy and she offers him a million dollars to become the new face of Banks LTD, what could he say besides yes??
I loved this book so freakin’ much! The slow burn romance between the characters was fantastic! Ms. Evan’s writing is phenomenal in Million Dollar Devil and I am so looking forward to reading more in this series!

Lizzy wants to take over her father's men's clothing company when he retires and to do that, she has to come up with a new face for the new clothing line. After being rejected by everyone she has approached, she goes into the nearest bar to drown her sorrows ... that's where she meets Jimmy. When Jimmy's parents died, he became the only relative his young brother had and he's been raising him ever since ... anyway he can. Jimmy has become a YouTube star being a dare devil. But when Lizzy lays eyes on Jimmy's beautiful face, she knows she's found the person to be the face of the new clothing line ... she just has to change him from Jimmy to James. And how can Jimmy refuse $1,000,000 for 3 months work ... no matter what he has to do.
Who doesn't like men dangerously handsome? I just loved how Jimmy would do anything for Lizzy ... he was smitten from the first time they met. I know that Lizzy was just changing him for the clothing line, but it was funny that she couldn't resist him either. This book has a little of everything in it ... it made me laugh, swoon and come close to tears! The sexual innuendo in this book is hot ... never mind the actual sex scenes! A great start to a new series.

⭐️ 3.5 "Daredevil" Stars ⭐️
When I first read the blurb for Million Dollar Devil I was already sold on this story. Sadly for me, this novel didn’t entirely convinced me. I had difficulty for the first quarter of this book to be captivated by the storyline, but persevered in my reading. It paid off because I gradually connected more to the characters and enjoyed this book. Not my favorite from this author, but still pleasant.
Lizzy would do anything to prove to her dad she’s capable of becoming the next CEO of his company. When all her options to find the next face for Banks LTD’s upcoming menswear collection are lost, she turns to cocky daredevil James Rowan.
James is rough around the edge, shameless and so sexy! The complete opposite of what the company represents. Always ready for a dare, he accepts Lizzy’s million dollar offer and the transformation starts. I enjoyed his never-ending sexual innuendos toward the young woman. She’s not accustom to this kind of forwardness, but can’t help the attraction simmering between them. Lizzy’s always trying to please her father, but by doing that she’s not living her life and James shows her a new audacious side of her.
I enjoyed this couple flirty banter and the blossoming of their romantic relationship. This is quite slow, but I still enjoyed the pace. Million Dollar Devil wasn’t as attention-grabbing as I wanted, but I had good time reading it.

I really enjoyed this book. The heat level was't as high as I expected from this author but that was ok with me. The sexual energy and banter between James/Jimmy and Lizzy was intriguing and I enjoyed the slow build up. I also enjoyed watching both these characters change especially as Jimmy transforms into James. Jimmy was not the bad boy character I originally thought he was. In fact he turned out to be quite sweet. I was expecting Lizzy to be a snobby princess since she was raised with money but wasn't that way at all and I found her real and genuine. I like the premise of this book and these characters really brought the story to life. I'm looking forward to more in this series. I would definitely recommend this book.

Million Dollar Devil by Katy Evans was just one of those stories where you either love it or you hate it.
The author and the blurb was what quickly drew me to the book but I was completely let down with the heroine. She's an heiress trying to please her father. No backbone. The things she said about the hero being "garbage" and a "sewer rat" among other names and multiple times throughout the novel was uncalled for. Even though she apologizes at the end, the damage was done.
However, there are many points for the hero. James was this sexified, raw, roguish, bearded man. Any dare presented to him, he's taking it all to care for his young brother. Yet, James seemed to be constantly objectified. Big N-O for me as a reader.
Overall, this story just did not do it for me. Yes, it was sexy and there was an electrifying connection between the main characters but it lacked humility in my opinion. Thus, making a novel that I was not particularly fond of.
