Thanks to the publisher for an ARC to read and give my honest opinion!

Loved it. Looms that can be hand made with simple materials at home is such a wonderful DIY craft to try. Materials can be costly and prices of looms are too, so this was a fun way to try weaving without the huge cost of the looms...you still need materials regardless but most goodwill or thrift stores have cheap craft goods. Most of these pieces don't require huge amounts of materials.

What did I like? Trying the pot holder or coaster seemed the best starter project. I'm still going to have to watch a couple of YouTube videos to start because I'm not crafty at all and despite the feel of beginner this book is still too complicated for a complete beginner. Still I liked the idea of a handmade loom project.

Would I buy this book? Yes, it has some delightful looking designs, and interesting patterns to try.
I thought a intermediate weaver would probably get the most out of this book since as a beginner I still need to watch videos.

Thoughts for the author? Do you have any YouTube video's? Would have been a great addition to find you also on YouTube. Still it was a fun book, and I can't wait to make my first starter loom.

Full of beautiful photos and step-by-step instructions, this is a gorgeous book that I think my students will love. The projects look engaging and fairly easy, with a range of possible tiny loom options. I can’t wait to try some of them myself - a perfect summer project! I’m looking forward to buying a copy of the book for school when it’s available.

The book is divided into categories for easy access to different types of projects/looms. One of the great things about this book is that the tools needed are easily accessible as they are household materials.

If you consider yourself a visual person, this is the book for you!!

Oh, my!!! What a fun book. Just looking at the cover made me want to head to the scrap bin and start making things. I never in my life thought that weaving would be something I could do. It even made me think about having a GOG party (Gaggle of Girls) and having them bring scraps to use. What better than spending an afternoon with some of my favorite people, being creative. A very inspiring book.

I can not wait for Weaving with Little Handmade Looms to come out so I can share with my students and friends! I am a librarian that works with Middle and High School students and to give them a break during the day I have things for them to sew or weave. I believe this book will be a wonderful inspiration for those that want to go to the level and also make their work portable. Thank you Harumi Kageyama for a beautiful book.

This book is a really beautiful book that explores weaving with everyday objects including board looms, box looms and frame looms. The layout is clean and easy to follow. The photography is incredibly stylish and inspiring. This is a fabulous book for anyone who wants to start weaving but without having to fork out a lot of money as it demonstrates how weaving can be done in an easy, accessible manner using everyday objects.

This book is absolutely magical. Translated from Japanese to English, this book uses gorgeous photography to showcase many small and beautiful woven projects. The book is divided into sections based on what kind of handmade loom was used, and four different basic types of looms are showcased. All are easy to make using household materials, and easy to learn how to use. The projects are so enticing that I put down the galley and made my own frame loom. Thanks to clear instructions, I was able to weave several things right away - this is just the kind of book that makes you want to create beautiful items. Kageyama uses a variety of materials, from lovely silks and cottons, to slubby pompom yarn, to natural twigs and grasses. Making looms is far easier and more approachable than I ever realized, and the portability of small loom projects is a real plus. Tweens to adults can really get started immediately with this book as inspiration, and the showcased projects range from useful to artful. I would recommend this one highly for all libraries, and I look forward to purchasing a copy for my own shelf.

The concept of "making" brings accessibility to art forms, such as weaving that were once out of reach. Learning to weave at one time meant learning complicated processes (if lessons were available), required expensive equipment, special spaces to set up, or were designed as children's toys. This book provides examples of free-form and inexpensive explorations of weaving. Looms can be make of anything that can handle a warp and weft - boxes, branches lashed together, or a cylinder made of rolled paper. Wovens may be displayed or utilitarian and functional, or simply left on the loom as an art object in its own right.

Unique craft book

Harumi Kageyama did a wonderful job with Weaving with Little Handmade Looms. The pictures were beautiful. The instructions on how to make each of the mini looms were helpful and the instructions for the projects very clear.

This is a very cute and helpful craft book, on how to make mini weaving looms from household objects as well as 25 simple projects to try out on them.

It opens with a flip through of each of the projects, with lovely photos and great descriptions. Then she teaches you how to make each of the different types of loom with great detail and a lot of pictures and diagrams. Finally, there is a section of patterns, each full of diagrams, photos, illustrations and helpful tips.
This book really has all the information in it, she addresses not only weaving technique, but also ways to fix common problems and helpful tips for painless weaving.

I found this book very understandable, and would be able to follow the instructions easily. The craft ideas are very basic, and some of them need a little imagination to figure out exactly what you would do with them, but overall they are very simple and lovely.

I would recommend this book to people who have never weaved before, and to long term weavers who want a bit of off-pieced inspiration.

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

This is a fantastic book on constructing and weaving with small looms. I have done a small amount of weaving, and have found that with a large (or even tabletop sized loom) it is easy to get overwhelmed with the slow speed of the weaving process. A tiny (and therefore easily portable) loom is a spectacular idea for a quick project to give you a sense of accomplishment as well as use up those pesky yarn and ribbon end pieces. I can see this being adapted for a variety of projects: birthday parties, group craft projects, wedding presents, physical therapist exercises, eco-friendly gifts, jewelry. The uses are quite limitless, and I look forward to it being published so I can pick up my own copy.

Thank you to NetGalley for letting me read a copy of the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

A fun book and one that can help you tap into your creativity without a big investment in specialized materials, I think just about anyone interested in weaving could find something helpful here, whether you are experienced with traditional weaving or want to get started without much prior knowledge.

This book contains some cute and fun projects that made a wonderful craft day with my niece.
The drawstring pouches were an especially big hit!
All the projects can be accomplished quickly and easily as long as you have all the supplies.
Caution and supervision is a must if you intend to do these crafts with kids. There are a lot of sharp pieces involved in most of the homemade looms.
The yarn is not as taunt on a lot of the homemade looms as I would like, but it was still fun to play around with them.
Favourite loom: Frame Looms on page 60
Favourite project: Card case on page 92
Thank you NetGalley and World Book Media for this DRC.

Oh my goodness, these little looms are something else.
These are fab, really.
