I found this to be a disappointing read actually. For I was thinking it was going to be about that night in Salco Island and the Battle that took his ship and three others. there was one chapter about that and the rest was about his life and divorces which would have been okay if they were intertwined. Was looking for more and felt let down.

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. If you are looking for a personal encounter from WWII you might be interested in this book.

This was a well written and poignant biography of a Veteran and survivor of WWII. I'm glad that his story is being told and preserved for future generations.
