Follow Sera and Cettie as their adventure continues in the fourth book in the Harbinger series by Jeff Wheeler, Prism Cloud.
Sometimes the person we believe has the greatest strength of character shows us that he is only an idol with feet of clay, and sometimes the person we choose to ignore and even despise for past mistakes turns out to be the strongest and most reliable. This is one of the lessons that we can learn, among many others, from this book. Another is that sometimes the lives of many depend on the moment when someone decides to tie his shoes...
All the sweet, bittersweet and even bitter moments contained in this book contribute to making a story with depth, as always based on historical moments and transformed by the Mysteries into a fantastic novel.
Let's hope that the fifth book in the Harbinger series affirms us in the belief that good always wins.
Thankyou to NetGalley, 47North and the author, Jeff Wheeler, for the opportunity to read a digital copy of Prism Cloud in exchange for an honest and unbiased opinion.
I have, unfortunately, had this book in my TBR pile. Why did I not read it before now I will never know.
Such an awesome addition to the Harbinger series.
The imagery and the characters were well drawn. The storyline keeps your attention and keeps you turning pages. 3.5 stars.
Well worth a read.
This is book 4 in the Author's Harbinger series and whilst it can be read as a standalone I recommend reading the previous books first .
Sera is engaged to the Prince from Kingfountain and is using the time before the wedding to get to know him better . A marriage that is necessary to end the war between their two Kingdoms .
When her father is killed she finds herself next in line for the throne - she must convince the Council that she is the best person available .
Meanwhile her best friend , Cettie , has received news that changes all she knows and believes of the Knowing .
Stopping the marriage becomes her focus , discovering more about her past paramount - but what will she have to give up to achieve her goals ? she might not like what she finds !
A book full of action , intrigue , twist and turns , mystery and romance .
I was given an arc of the book by NetGalley and the Publisher in exchange for an honest review

This novel is a good one that I’ve read this year! The characters are so dynamic yet relatable. I loved the flow of the story. It held my attention the whole time.
This is the fourth book in Wheeler's science fiction, slightly steam punky series. It features great world building, nice character development and fine plotting. I look forward to reading more of Wheeler's creations. I also like that his novels are clean making them suitable for all ages.
I will never not read anything Jeff Wheeler writes. I love this series so much. I loved the original series and wasn’t too sure about this one but it too keeps getting better and better. Now that the two world are colliding I’m so hooked. I will say this book broke my heart though.
It took me a while to finally get into Prism Cloud. Not because it was bad, but the first three books were so filling, I had to take many moments to breath. When I finally read this, I was left with a complete book hangover. And also craving the fifth book (Thank gosh Netgalley has the fifth book for read now!!). Jeff Wheeler created a masterpiece of a series!
I've enjoyed Wheeler's writing since I first happened upon The Queen's Poisoner (great title) and the entire Kingfountain Series. In the Harbinger Series, the worlds are connected from his previous writing. The focus has been on two characters and their friendship. Sera Fitzempress and the orphan Cettie. You could call if a rags to riches story, or the poor little rich girl, or trading places, but none of these really covers the scope of their character arcs. I love it because they have a deep abiding friendship through the trials they face. However, in this installment, the stakes are even higher. Lies and deceit mislead both young women.
In typical Wheeler fashion, you will be on the edge of your seat with the twists and turns. I don't want to spoil it for you but can say that I never saw it coming. Sure, you might have an inkling, but you won't guess the outcome. I'm anxious for the next book in this series to find out what happens next and to learn if their friendship survives.
I've been following Cettie and Sera's story for a while now and I wasn't disappointed with Prism Cloud. I love the representation of their friendship throughout the series and that's what has warmed my heart the most. The world-building and pacing, I think, have also always been the best things about this series.
4 stars

This is the fourth book in the book series. Sera has continued getting to know the Prince from Kingfountain and they are engaged to be married. Her hope is that their marriage will end the war between their two kingdoms. When her father is killed, she is next in line for the throne, and yet must still win over the Council.
Sera's best friend Cettie has been rocked with some devastating news that changes her outlook on her life and the Knowing. Based on new information available to her, she believes she must stop Sera's wedding. She steps away from Fitzroy's manor and embarks on a journey to learn more about her past, but she may not like what she finds.
The two women are on very different paths, both hoping to live their truth.
As usual, there is a lot of action, intrigue and mystery. I can't wait to see how this series ends!

HOLY BALLS!
I didn't see anything from this book coming!
I don't want to give anything away... I don't even know what to say right now that won't give away any spoilers...
I thought this book was going to be the last book in the series. I didn't realize there was going to be one more book after it, so this may have influenced my expectations. I expected things to end happily in this book, or a least happy-ish.
Everything in the series has been leading up to this book. During the first few books, the author did an excellent job of character development and world building. In this book, he switches everything up and lets us in on some huge secrets as to how everything fits together.
TBH, I loved Cettie in the first 3 books. I'm not really sure how I felt about her in this book... I know I didn't feel the same though (ugh! It's so hard to do this without giving away spoilers!) I have faith that she will redeem herself by the end though.
I do know how I felt about Sara in this book! In the first 3 books, I really liked her, but I feel like she finally blooms in this book.
I will try not to include too many spoilers to this book, besides what is alluded to in the synopsis above from GoodReads.
However, it's like everything turns upside down in this book!
In the last book, things have started settling down a bit for Cettie and Sera, and it seems that way at the beginning of this book, as well. It definitely doesn't stay that way though!
I absolutely can't wait for the next book in the series, Broken Veil, to be released. Jeff Wheeler's website says it will be released on June 11, 2019.
I received a copy of this book from the publishers, via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review.
I've become a huge fan of Jeff Wheeler's books in the last few years and have read all the series he's produced. King fountain has to be my favorite series but this is coming in a close second. The struggles he is bringing into this book are slightly different then the others and while I found his others books slightly predictable, though I still loved them, I'm finding this series different in that I'm not sure where the characters are going next. The way the books are written make you feel for the characters and become attached to some. Watching Sera mature has been an amazing journey and going with her through he trials of this book made me respect her more. I honestly listened to this book every chance I got. I love the Kate Rudd Narrations and it helps when I commute a couple hours a day to just listen as I drive. I absolutely can't wait for the next book!
So far this has probably been right up there in my top 10 favorite series. This particular book was fantastic, even more so than the last 2. It didn't quite top the first book in the series, but I'd say a close second. I cannot wait for the 5th and final book to finish out the series! For anyone who hasn't read the previous series, I'd say read them. All of them. They aren't necessary to be able to get through this series, but they add so much more depth and backstory to it all. I'm really hoping that his future stories continue in these worlds and perhaps allow us to discover others that link together with ones I've come to know and love.
Mr. Wheeler is the master of world-building. He is able to create these worlds that draw you in; that make you want to live in them along with the characters, seeing, feeling, experiencing everything. Mr. Wheeler has slowly been culminating these worlds he creates in his different series so he could write THIS series where he brings them all together. I know they are all set further in the future than where any of his other series left off, but to see glimpses of familiar names of other series . . . Well it let the super fan in me geek out. This series in right in lines with his other greats. His has the same factitiousness to details with his characters. This book brings more plot twists for the characters than any other books in the series. It requires a careful hand that is able to draw the reader in and Wheeler is able to do that. I'm partial to Cettie, myself and can't wait when the book goes back to her prospective. You can feel the underlying plotline battling for humanity, the fight against evil for the light, the fight for good in others. The character development is wonderful. I always liked how Jeff let's us grow with his characters. I can't wait for the final book
**I received a free copy of this book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review. **
Reading a Wheeler book is like pulling out a favorite blanket. I love the worlds of Harbinger and the way they interact. Sera and Cettie are best friends but they don’t interact at all in this book. Sera is right in the middle of negotiations between the worlds of Kingfountain and Comoros. But an evil plot throws everything into disarray and Sera is forced to flee to become empress of Comoros. Cettie is trying to just live her life but continually gets pulled into the machinations of others and pushed into a fate she never wanted. This book definitely feels like a setup for the final (I think?) book in the series. There is a ton of action and the plot was flying. But one of the things I love about Wheeler books is the character development and that seemed to be lacking a bit. Sera was the leader we all know she could be. And Cettie just seemed to wallow in this book. Here is to hoping Cettie steps up in the next book.
Wheeler is always good for a unique, fresh story and this release is no different. I had a little trouble staying focused through the middle, but the climax more than repaid my patience.
The beginning of the end
It’s hard to judge the penultimate book in a series, but what I feel the strongest about with Prism Cloud is that it’s darker, even more complex, and certain aspects and situations feel yet more hopeless with the evil overwhelming so much and things going awry. The Harbinger series is such a wonderfully rich tapestry with deftly woven characters and a nuanced world that will have you believing every sky ship, every gate, every mental touch of a Leering. You will leave this book satisfied and yet yearning to see the tapestry as a whole with each thread tucked neatly away and the final picture revealed in its glory.
Jeff Wheeler is building momentum and us readers are discovering more answers (and more questions), but the climax to the tale is in the upcoming final book, leaving Prism Cloud a bit of a cliffhanger; all the pieces are in play, all the stage is set, and we await the final curtain. Patience, patience… I must have patience…
If you’ve been reading the Harbinger series, then you’re set to sink your teeth into Prism Cloud. (If you haven’t been reading the series, go back and start with Storm Glass, you’ll be glad that you did!) In a way, Prism Cloud is the ultimate bridge book.
I have been a fan of Jeff Wheeler's books for a little while now and I have been loving this series so far.
This book got me hooked from the very beginning. The writing is fantastic too.
I do highly recommend this book.
