Thanks to Netgalley and Amazon Publishing for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. I don't particularly think Celeste Barber's Instagram #CelesteChallengeAccepted photos are that funny, but they're real and I appreciate the agenda she pushes. She's empowering and real and that's why I follow her. This book was funny and well-written. It was a quick, easy read and I would definitely recommend it.

Fantastic, funny book. I laughed, I cried, I snorted Diet Coke out my nose. The childbirth chapter made my stomach hurt from laughing. This book is hilarious and relatable, the world needs more Barber and less Kardashian. The only problem I had was I wish the book had been longer, I wanted more stories. Do yourself a favor and read this book, you will not be sorry.

Hilarious, raw, and real. I could've kept reading for another hundred pages. I hope Celeste continues to write.

Celeste Barber's book, Challenge Accepted, reads as part memoir, part comedy routine, and the result is fully successful. With over four million followers on Instagram, Celeste has risen to fame primarily for poking fun at the ridiculous affectations of celebrities, although she has previously worked as an actress in Australia for many years. What her newfound followers won't realize is that prior to her #challengeaccepted fame, Celeste has faced a multitude of challenges in her personal life. Beginning with an ADD diagnosis at 16, bullying, open heart surgery at 25, #metoo stories, and the loss of loved ones along the way, Celeste is a survivor who also happens to be eye-wateringly funny. She has indeed accepted her challenges and risen above them because, in her own words, "self doubt is boring."

This is a deeply personal memoir, and reads like a sneaky peek into a close friend's diary, startling at times, funny and chock full of home truths. Celeste muses on body positivity and the importance of always showing your most authentic self to the world. "It's okay to be big, loud, over the top, full-on and loud." She is, at the heart of it, true to herself, and isn't that a message we all need to hear?

Early in the book, Celeste states, "As long as people are laughing because of me, I'm happy." Well, mission accomplished Ms. Barber, you must be very happy indeed. Recommended

Many thanks to NetGalley and Amazon Press for this ARC.

Love Celeste Barber, follow her on facebook for the funny taking the mic pictures. Prefer watching on facebook than in a book though.
