Cash is a party boy with a dark history that surrounds him. He is the heir to a mega-corporation Cash has a bad name because of his party boy ways. The board of the corporation is getting tired of dealing with him. When Cash gives Kara a opportunity she can't refuse, the books takes us on a sexy and steamy journey.
I liked the plot development, the characters relationship built fast, but didn't feel rushed. The chemistry was hot and sexy. Overall a very good read.
Kara has to get $140,000 to keep the bill collectors away but she only has 60 days to do it. Kara convinces the casino owner to let her deal blackjack promising that she wouldn’t use any tricks that her dad may have taught her. When Cash comes to her table he convinces her to go to spend the night with him but he can’t believe he wants to see her again so soon after, when he does he has an idea. This story matches two very different people together for a great story and I loved the interaction between Cash and Kara.
This book started out good and promising. A few things went to fast for me and the insta-love story didn’t reel me in. At 60% it started getting weird and then at 70% I had to stop reading. I couldn’t get behind this.
I have read better books by this author!
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for this ebook copy for an honest review.
Going into this book I had no clue it was a series. But it didn’t hamper my experience. I’m going to assume the previous three are just as good. I’ll have to read those soon too. This is my first Cassia Leo book and I definitely wasn’t disappointed.
In this book Cash our hero is a sexy, sophisticated billionaire who has such a charisma that he turns heads no matter where he is. The outside doesn’t always depict the inside, he’s having trouble with keeping his position within the company. Our heroine, Kara, is a determined and strong woman, who’s dealing with her fathers past. At nights she’s a black jack dealer.
With secrets and pasts and sadness running amuck, it’s no wonder they were drawn to each other. You can’t help but be drawn into their story. Watching them connect and learn. The humor was spot on. Their chemistry was so intense, I held my breath a certain scenes. They seemed to jump off the pages. Needless to say they were explosive in the bedroom.
I will be checking out the rest of the series. 5 stars.
I received the ARC in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to the author, Netgalley and the publisher
Wow, this was the first novel I have read from this author and I really enjoyed it. This novel sucked me in from the very first chapter to the very last. The chemistry was so good between Cash and Kara. I loved it! I also enjoyed the dialogue and the banter between the characters. Both characters had been through so much and I was rooting for them. I love a novel that sucks you in and can make you laugh and cry and leaves you with a smile on your face. This novel did that for me. I loved it and I can't wait to read more from this author.
This book was everything you could want in a fast paced smutty romance! Jam packed with witty convos, action, and a fast paced romance that will have you swooning Cash by Cassia Leo had it all! I loved Cash I thought he was a very lovable billionaire who was constantly cracking jokes. He was easy to fall for and fell even more easily in love. He was passionate in a quick fun loving way and his relationship with Kara was the cutest thing ever! The sex scenes were steamy and sweet and made my heart melt and race at the same time! Every thing you could look for in a billionaire featured romance! Highly recommend for those looking for a fun read that will keep you entertained and have you swooning!!
Cash is a stand-alone in the Power Players Series and in my opinion the best one! It's fun, sexy, fast-paced read that I read in one sitting. Cash is a sexy billionaire bad boy who, much to his family's dismay, keeps popping up in the media. Kara is a blackjack dealer at the millionaire's gambling club trying to make enough money to pay off her dad's gambling debt. This is where Cash and Kara meet. After a night of sexy steamy sex, Cash offers to pay Kara a million dollars to pretend to be his fiance so he can impress the board of Westbrook Oil (his family's company). He needs Kara because they're saying his antics in the media have been bad for the company's image.
Kara was was determined to keep her father's problem's to herself even though Cash has been nothing but open with her as they grow closer and begin to fall in love. Cash and Kara are so good together that it made for easy reading. They had off the charts chemistry, hot steamy sex and plenty of action. This book I didn't put down until the very end. I loved the epilogue too! What a great finishing touch!
“I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.”
Is a good read, easy and without delay of the drama. Cash and Kara need each other for reasons not love related but love grew when the chemistry is there.
I received a ARC from Netgalley for a honest review. I recommend this book.
2 stars
This one was a huge swing and a miss for me,
Not a fan of Cash or Kara or their story.
Just not for me.
I haven't read any other books in this series but I didn't find that a problem when reading this one as it is pretty much complete in itself. This is more than just a poor girl meets bad boy billionaire story. Kara's father is a former card shark who is dying of cancer leaving her drowning in debt. Cash Westbrook is a billionaire playboy who is about to be thrown off of the board of Westbrook oil due to his latest scandals and has to find a wife in order to salvage his position, reputation and save a charitable cause close to his heart.
These two meet at the Billioniare Club in Vegas where Kara has just got a job as a blackjack dealer. Kara immediately recognises Cash as the son of the owner of the company her Dad worked for and hopes that she can talk him into expediting her Dad's medical claim to wipe out some of her debt. She goes home with him for what she expects to be a one-night stand, but it turns into more as he offers her the deal of a lifetime, A million dollars to be his fake fiancee.
What starts out as just an agreement between two people develops into a fast paced thriller as Kara and Cash face threats from Kara's past. It is so much more than just a love story and it kept me guessing to the end. It was great to see the characters grow into so much more than they were at the beginning, especially Cash who has to take on the bad guys to save the woman he loves. It was really great to read something different in the billionaire meets poor girl theme and I think Cassia accomplished it very well.
Good, sexy story! I liked both the characters and their back stories. I think Cash's could have been developed a little more in regards to his clean power initiative.
Cash is a super sexy billionaire romance that is a great fun read. Cash and Kara are great characters that are well developed and likeable. Sure Cash is a bit obnoxious at first but he quickly wins you over. The book is well written with a nice easy flow to the story. In typical billionaire romance fashion Cash finds himself in need of a fake fiance to prove to his board of directors that he's put his player ways behind him. What makes this story unique is how Cash and Kara stay true to who they are and their relationship evolves naturally from friends to lovers. This is a quick read that will keep you entertained. I highly recommend it.
Thank you to NetGalley for the review copy!
I liked this book, overall. The sex scenes were not tacky, and not too much. However I felt like there was very little lacking as far as character development, I wasn't super invested in it. However It was a quick read, that held my attention for the most part.
Absolutely love the author and was really looking forward to reading this. I liked the characters and the storyline. But some of it was a bit choppy and didn’t flow too smoothly. Plus it went all instalove straight away with not enough build up for me. And the names of the new additions at the end? Cruel. Feel slightly disappointed.
This was my first time reading a book by this author so I didn't really know what to expect. I liked it for the most part. It was a quick read but I also feel like it was rushed. One minute Cash and Kara are hooking up then a few chapters later, they are in love. Too quick for my liking. I would have liked their relationship to develop a little more.
On another note, this book made me want to learn about blackjack! :)
This quick and sexy read is my first from Cassia Leo but definitely not my last. The chemistry between the couple was off the charts, and Cash is the type of alpha-hero that readers love.
Because of her terminally ill father and his gambling addiction, Kara is up until her eyeballs into debt. When she meets Cash Westbrook, who’s become the enfant terrible of the tabloid press ever since his girlfriend OD’d, he offers her a million dollar to pose as his fiancé after a night of steamy sex. Needless to say, Kara agrees, but when both her and Cash feelings go beyond just physical attraction and her father’s debt collectors pulling the proverbial noose around her neck tighter with each passing day, she has to decide if Cash really is a guy she can bank on in her time of need.
I liked this story well enough, but I didn’t love it. I’m not sure if this is intended as a Romantic Suspense (I don’t think it is?), but the suspense plot was weak and the bad guys didn’t really close in until after Kara and Cash had professed their love for each other. It made the plot feel muddled to the point where I found myself flicking to the Epilogue after the ‘I love you’s’ were exchanged.
There were also a couple of things that I thought would come back to bite back Cash in the ass, but it didn’t, namely what happens in the club with the sister of Cash’s nemesis. If he’s usually fodder for the paparazzi and people were filming the incident with their phones, it ought to have ended up in the papers and it definitely should’ve had some repercussions, since he was trying to clean up his act. But that axe never dropped for some reason.
Cash is the epitome of the tortured hero, but I felt his mistrust towards Kara wasn’t justified, especially since it was him approaching her after their one-night-stand, and not the other way around. He really gave off the poor-little-rich-boy vibe at certain points, and not in a good way. However, his grovel to get Kara back made me clutch my pearls in delight, so there’s that :-)
Kara on the other hand is a really likable heroine who’s been dealt a rough hand in life, but is trying to make the most of it nonetheless. I liked her a lot.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is my first book by this author and I thoroughly enjoyed it. There were a few grammatical errors along the way but not so many or so completely incorrect that you couldn’t enjoy the story. I thought the way that Cash was linked to Kara’s father was really well written and can’t say enough good things.
I received an ARC through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
This is my first book by Cassie Leo and I’m still a little unsure how I feel about it. Lol.
Writing style good, Characters good, smart and strong. Storyline, maybe that’s where I’m unsure. There were good story lines and struggles from both sides that were realistic, but then there would pop up something especially in the last third of the book, that was just too “out there ” for me. I think I felt as if the smaller things that happened seemed realistic, but a few bigger things that happened kind of hit you right in the head, almost out of nowhere, BIG things and then just resolved in a very short period of time.
The first half of the book flowed pretty well for me, but there were things in the second half that were just not believable, came out of nowhere and ended pretty unbelievably. It’s hard to be any more descriptive without spoiling it for anyone, so I’m describing things the best way possible without giving the story away. In the end it is an HEA, with a sweet epilogue and it is really going to be a matter of preference for each person how well they like it.
For me it was just okay. I would likely try another book by this author, but maybe not in this series, just to find out if the things that weren’t to my preference were applicable to this story only or a normal storytelling style for this author.
Cash by Cassia Leo is book Four in the Power Players Series and is the story of Cash Westbrook and Kara Langley. I haven't yet read the previous books, so for me this was a standalone book.
Cash is the ultimate rich playboy who is Vice President of the family business. But with each new women, each new headline and each new mess-up that is put in the paper is a nail in his coffin for his job. Everyone is tired of his ways and wants him to move on or clean up his image. Kara is struggling to help her father even though they have a shaky past. So she is in need of a lot of quick money which she thinks she on the right track taking a job at dealing blackjack but then she meets Cash. Cash knows there is something different about Kara but he puts it to her that if she helps him be his fake fiance he will help her with the cash. But what they slowly start to see is that they want each other more.
