This book was all, ohh, then awww, then ooooh, and then it made me cry, first sad, then mad, then happy tears! I mean, surprise daddy, plus best friends little sister, and he's a hockey player? Yeah, that is all good, no bad, and this book certainly lived up to that expectation

Jonah is having the time of his life, living his dream, and then he is handed a baby. He has no idea what to do, but Quinn is a daycare teacher, so she helps out. Once they are living together to care for the little one, is doesn't take anytime for the sexual tension they have to explode. And it does, again, and again, and again, until finally, reality steps in and scares them both

Just a bit of time, until they come back around, and end up together, as they should. Sexy, smart, and tugging at your heart strings, this book had it all!

Cathryn Fox never ceases to deliver something completely unique, completely addictive and completely mind-blowing. I was utterly mesmerized. The Story. The Heat. The Love. This was absolutely stunning!
Jonah Long “The Body Checker” of the NHL answers the door after a long night of celebrating his massive contract extension, to be presented with a pink bundle of surprise, “Here is your daughter, Daisy”, by a past hook up. Totally not knowing what to do when the mother leaves just as quickly as she came, his best friend Zander calls his little sister Quinn to come over and help.

Quinn Reed is a daycare teacher. She has never liked the way her brother and his best friend lives with puck bunnies in their beds every night. Did they not think that this might happen eventually? But Jonah now needs to clean up his act and be the father that Daisy needs. She will help him, because of the baby, especially after being abandoned by her own mother.

But as these two spend time together taking care of Daisy, Quinn is quite taken and impressed with the way that Jonah is stepping up to take care of his daughter. Bonding over Daisy, both of them start acting on their feeling of attraction and a sizzling chemistry that they have been suppressing for a while.
But what will become of their secret affair when a nanny is hired to replace Quinn? Will it only be amazing sex?

Jonah and Quinn’s Story is full of emotion, conviction, thick sexual tension, off the charts chemistry, and perfect amount of feel good, warm your heart, kind of romance. With a great twist at the end. You do not want to pass this one by. Loved it, so so much!

Jonah lived the carefree life of a hockey player. Puck bunnies. Different women to spend his time with and no obligations. That all changed one fateful night. Being told he was a father was definitely a life changing moment. Everything he knew at that moment suddenly no longer mattered. Finding help with his new bundle of joy was where Quinn would come in. She would remain by his side and help take care of his daughter. She would stoop at nothing to ensure she was protected. Getting what she always wanted could be an added bonus. Absolutely loved this story and the characters that remind you that life will constantly challenge your every move.

NHL’s toughest enforcer, the Body Checker, Jonah earned that title the hard way. Being a no strings kind of guy, he is rendered speechless when puck bunny Shari shows up at his door, with a baby in tow. Luckily, Zander, his best friend calls his baby sister Quinn in for a rescue. Quinn is quickly taken by his daughter Daisy and when they play house, lines crossed and they're wondering if making this ready-made family the real deal.

Overall, in regards to “The Body Check”, have you ever read anything and just didn't know how to take it in? Was it good? Was it bad? Was it it even worth the read? “The Body Check” falls perfectly into that category. The series wasn't rememberable, the characters were just okay, the content was just whatever and you're left with nothing but a fast paced romance. Not worth the finish and I ended up dropping this series by chapter 10 at 51%.

Fun & steamy read

Favourite Quote:
“You’re Zander’s best friend, and like a brother to me.” Okay, not a brother, not even a cousin. More like my brother’s hot best friend who just happens to make my ovaries stand up and do the Macarena.

When after a night of heavy partying, Jonah gets a screaming pink bundle thrusted into his hands by an ex who claims he’s the father, his best friend’s kid sister Quinn steps into help him. Neither is looking for a commitment, but with a chemistry so hot the air sizzles between them every time they’re in the same room, playing happy family starts to feel a little too real for both of them.

I first read Cathryn Fox’s Dossier-series and I really, really like her brand of fast-paced, sizzling hot romance. This one also didn’t disappoint, especially since I like the best friend’s sister trope. There’s some initial hostility between Quinn and Jonah, but they quickly set it aside to take care of baby Daisy. Jonah doesn’t have any experience with children, so when he finds himself an instant Daddy, he readily accepts Quinn’s help. They get down and dirty pretty fast, but it does serve the plot and at no point I found myself flicking to the pages to the point where the story picked up again.

One thing that did bother me was how Jonah readily accepted his being a father without even asking for so much of a paternity test. Shari’s a certified puck bunny who’s been around the block a few times, so Jonah’s accepting Shari’s explanation that the condom broke (which he doesn’t remember happening) and that the baby is his, didn’t make a whole lot of sense to me. He’s a wealthy guy, so he’s vulnerable in that aspect, but no one—not even Jonah’s own father who’s a lawyer—even suggests to Jonah to at least have it black-on-white that the baby is his. This required quite a suspense of disbelief and it’s the only flaw in an otherwise really great story.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this to people who like their romance steamy. Zander, Quinn’s brother, has his own story coming up next. I can’t wait!

We have a brother's best friend and the little sister. Jonah had know clue that he was a father until a puck bunny hands him his little girl. Not knowing what to do he is freaking out and his best friend calls his little sister Quinn who works at a daycare center. Quinn knows what it is growing up without a parent since her brother took care of them at such a young age so she refuses to let Jonah's little girl suffer. When the mother comes back wanting the baby back, Jonah and Quinn have a fake relationship which in turn turns real..

For the most part I enjoyed Body Checker. The story isn't anything new but the author puts a fresh spin on this tale.
I found Jonah to be sweet but a little naive when it comes it women. His world turn upside down in a matter of minutes but he handles this in stride. He shows his true colors and is definitely one of the good guys. He's always had a thing for Quinn, his best friends sister, so when the time comes the pair don't hesitate to take their relationship out of the friend zone.
Its very light on sports so I wouldn't categorize this as a sports romance per se but it was more about the bonding between Daisy and Jonah.
The one downside of the book was the retelling of his sexual prowess. It was a bit overkill.

Jonah Long wakes up to a hangover and pounding on his front door after a celebration party at his home. When he opens his door, a 4-month-old baby is placed in his arms and he is told that he is the father. When the mother disappears, he turns to his friend Zander for help. Zander calls on his sister Quinn to come to Jonah’s aid as she works in a day care center. Quinn is a small dynamo who will teach Jonah everything he needs to know about babies…and maybe a little about herself. Quinn has had a crush on Jonah for years, but knows that his life style playing professional hockey is not conducive to being with just one woman. Could she be the woman to change his mind? What happens if the mother returns for her daughter? It is endearing to watch as Jonah adapts to being a dad and cares for his daughter, Daisy. There is a twist to Ms. Fox’s story that I did not see coming along with “steamy” action between Jonah and Quinn as their relationship develops. A thoroughly enjoyable romance. I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to give an honest review. (by paytonpuppy)

Loved It

This is a sports romance that I couldn’t put down. After a night of hard partying Jonah gets up to answer his door and has a baby thrust at him telling him he’s a daddy and the mother takes off. This hard partying hockey player had no idea what to do with a baby so his best friend Zander calls his sister in to help Jonah out. They have all grown up together and Jonah has always known Quinn as the girl who is off limits since it’s a “bro” code thing.

As they spend time together caring for Daisy there are boundaries that are crossed and neither of them will admit to anything. There is great chemistry between Jonah and Quinn and there are surprises that tug at the heartstrings and have you picking sides. It was quite the page turner for me.

This book was very sexy! I enjoyed it for light fare and didn’t see the twist coming. My only gripe is that for a hockey book, there is no actual hockey playing going on.

Jonah has never held a small baby let alone take care of one, so he is in a state of panic when one of his flings claims that he is the father to her 4 month old girl and leaves the child with him and drives off. His best friend comes to his aid by calling his younger sister to come and help care for the child.
Quinn has managed to hide her crush on Jonah till now, but living with and playing family with him and his little girl makes her want it all. But Jonah is not interested in her, or is he ?
I loved the chemistry between Jonah and Quinn, it was off the charts HOT. This is a well written book with characters that are simply adorable and fun. I enjoyed reading the interactions between them. Overall the Body checker is a fun, hot, and romantic read.

Body Checker
By: Cathryn Fox

📚💕⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💕📚

When what you think you know isn’t true!!!!

Omg this was my first book by Cathryn Fox and I’m absolutely impressed. She will take you on quite the journey in The Body Checker. I will definitely be reading more books by her.

Jonah: I’m the NHL’s toughest enforcer, the Body Checker, and I earned that title the hard way. I’m all about the game, a no attachment, no strings kind of guy, so when a puck bunny shows up at my door, shoves a pink bundle into my hands and drives off into the sunset, it turns my world upside down. I’m not cut out to be a family man. I know nothing about babies and I’m the last guy who should be taking care of one. But I do know someone who is equipped for the job—Quinn Reed, my best friend’s kid sister. Problem is, she kind of…hates me.
Quinn:
Jonah Long…a father? Move in and help take of his daughter? Crazy as that sounds, I agree to the temporary arrangement, for the child’s sake. Problem is, living with the guy I’ve crushed on since forever, is messing with my body as well as my brain. And now, watching him grow as a man, seeing the bond between father and daughter build, I can’t help but want this family for myself. But we’re just playing house, and Jonah isn’t interested in making this ready-made family the real deal…right?

I really enjoyed this book and it kept me engrossed throughout. I really loved the characters and the way they interacted with each other. This is a fun, hot, romantic must read book and I would definitely recommend this book to anyone.

This book has everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. Written in dual POV my personal favorite this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.

Thanks Netgally for letting me read and review.📚💕

This book definitely took me by surprise.
Like I thought I knew how this book was going to end but I was completely wrong.
Quinn and Jonah have known each for years since he is her brother's best friend, so when he unexpectedly ends up with a daughter he knew nothing about she steps in to help him, which obviously leads to them having this crazy secret relationship with no strings attached.
I liked how playful and funny they were with each other and how they cared about each other in the past but covering it up with irritation.
I did not see the twist in the end, it honestly took me by surprise and the only think I didn't like was that Jonah and Quinn were like "okay, but back to us..." and I was like ??? If someone did to me what they did to Jonah and Zander (even though it's pretty impossible) I would be super angry. Overall it was good book and I loved how they both treated Daisy.

The Body Checker by Cathryn Fox is an enjoyable read. Love the characters. Both the lead characters are complex and intriguing and the secondary characters pop with individualism and depth. Love the hockey theme yet didn't spend much time on hockey. Good story; sweet and hot like jalapeno cotton candy.

3.5 stars
A cute love/hate relationship between Jonah and Daisy. He is her brothers best friend. She is the the know it all sister of his best friend. When an ex shows up at his home declaring he is a dad, he is left in a bad spot. He never knew she was pregnant, let alone prepared to be a dad. He is a hot NHL star, with a hectic schedule. Daisy volunteers to step in and help until he can find a nanny. What they didn't bargain for was falling in love.

I liked the story (although I read a book with a similar plot recently), I just didn't like the ending with the ex and the whole baby daddy. Left a bad taste for me.

I have read each book in this series and have loved each one. Seeing Jonah and Quinn, get together over a baby that was his. Was crazy. Then things get complicated, cause Quinn’s brother, Zander, is Jonah’s bf and becomes involved. Yeah, if you like hockey and macho men finding out their daddies and know nothing about babies, this book and future books in this series is for you.

The Body Checker does have a HEA ending. I am so relieved and actually like this ending better than the one I expected. Jonah is a man that doesn't shirk his responsibilities. When Quinn drops everything to help him out, no questions asked. I knew that is true love right there.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Kobo Writing Life for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. First time reading this author. I believe that this is the first book in a series. there is a smidge of hockey, but that's not the main focus. I really liked this book. The main characters were interesting and fun. Daisy, a baby gets dropped at Jonah's place! What does he know about babies. Jonah's best friend Zander saves the day by calling his sister, Quinn. Quinn gets things organized. I liked the no nonsense of Quinn, and Jonah's flexibility and acknowledgement that the baby could be his! It's a fun, fast paced ride! Very enjoyable story. I think most romance readers would enjoy. I rate it 4 stars.

A quick, sexy read with some instantly lovable characters. There's just a dash of hockey, but enough to establish Jonah's alpha nature as well as push the plot forward, tempered by his soft, gooey, romantic side. I'd like to have seen more of Zander, the heroine Quinn's brother, throughout, but when he was there he was an absolute delight. One thing that bothered me was figuring out where exactly Quinn and Jonah's relationship started; at times, the story seemed to set them up as hate-to-love, where they legitimately disliked each other for years, but most other times, they were pretty firmly established as childhood friends, with Quinn off-limits as his best friend's younger sister. Their dynamic was a little confusing as a result. All in all, a sweet and sexy read that definitely scratches the ready-made family itch.
