This book is 130 pages of illustrated avocado puns. The art style is fun and the designs would make great greetings cards. The book would be the ideal gift for the friend who loves avocadoes and dad jokes.
The illustrations were on point and some on the puns were hilarious that I caught myself laughing out loud, however, I felt like others were not funny at all. Overall, this was very enjoyable and I had a good laugh.
This was exactly what I was expecting it to be. The illustrations are beautiful and the puns had me smiling, giggling and laughing out loud. As an avocado lover this book was quite satisfying.
Are you an avocado lover, or you know someone who is? Then this little book will be a perfect gift for them!
Many thanks to the publisher and netgalley!
Cute book with puns and jokes all about avocados. Would be a humorous gift to give to chefs and other foodies.
Exactly what you would think it would be....a book full of cute cartoon drawings and all of them are some sort of avocado pun. And it was so cute. I love avocados and I love puns (especially ones involving food), so this book was right up my alley! Quick read when you need a few giggles.
I love comics and I love avocados (California native here) so naturally I was excited to see a book of avocado puns. Some have a lot of small details that made them just adorable (e.g. avo babies.) There's a lot of pop culture references, not all of which I got, but I laughed at quite a few. In my opinion, the avocado toast puns were the best. Overall I think this book will make a really good gift for any avocado and pun lovers in your life, that co-worker you aren't sure what to get, or your next white elephant gift exchange. (And that last one is not because it's terrible, but because I think it's enjoyable for everyone.)
This book is filled with over a hundred comical drawings, each with an avocado pun of it's own.
The imagination of the author is very clever, and I found myself laughing out loud several times while reading this book. It's the kind of art and puns that I imagine have been fueled by social media and the modern online form of engaging with simple comedy, and I enjoyed seeing that in a book form.
As the book carries on past the 60 or 70 page mark some of the puns start to push it a little bit, and you have to sort of smile and move on, but there are so many truly funny ones mixed in that make up for that.
This copy is also fairly fuzzy and blurred around the edges, but I imagine that will be cleared up before going to print.
Thanks to Netgalley for an advanced reader copy.
I LOVE this little avocado gift book! There's so much fun puns, there's even a Lord of the Rings one!
The illustrations are bright and colourful. The puns are clever and the drawing style is very cute.
Makes a great gift for avocado fans.
I enjoy these kind of one or two panel comics and must admit that i would have given it a higher rating, if i liked avocados. The art style was cute and i enjoyed the pun based panels. It's definitely one i would pick up again on a free afternoon as it provides short term enjoyment.
The art was gorgeous! Also, the more i read, the funnier the puns became :)
A very enjoyable, quick read!
Thanks to netgalley for an ARC.
Short read of 15 mins or less. Some of the puns were smart and laugh out loud. Others were average.
This is an entire book of illustrated puns about avocados. There are more than 100 pages in this book. I did not think this would be possible, but it sure happened. There are several people in my life who will be receiving this book as a gift and/or punishment.
Funny short book of illustrations.. really cute illustrations I must say. They did make me laugh which I guess was the purpose since it's humor.
I love avocado so I really enjoyed it!
This is so cute. Full of lots of puns and cute drawings all avocado related shockingly ! I think this would be a great gift for young kids and a great family book.
Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion
This book is an illustrated collection of beautiful drawings and puns about avocados.
Like I’ve already mentioned the illustrations were beautifully made, and went perfectly with the puns.
I have got to say that even though I really enjoyed the visual part of this book, some of the puns didn’t flowed or made as much sense as the others did. Some of the puns also seemed a bit forced to fit the avocado theme at times.
But I’ve also got to say the the puns that weren’t forced to fit the avocado theme were really funny and clever.
Overall, a really quick book to pass time with, and have a laugh here and there.
