Oh, how glorious it is to be back at Love Heart Lane! I loved the first one in this series and couldn't wait to be back in the idyllic sounding countryside reading about the lovely characters. I think I love the cover of this particular novel more than the first which is hard but I absolutely love the colours used! The ombre sky is beautiful, I love the coloured flowers surrounding the core and of course the pretty lights hanging over the top. It looks stunning and really draws you in.

I can't honestly put into words just how much I loved this novel. If I could rate it more than the usual 5 stars then I absolutely would! I was surprised at just how much drama was packed into the one story but I was blown away by Christie's style of writing. As I mentioned, there was a lot of drama, but the story flowed really well and it never felt unrealistic with what was happening. I was so intrigued by Drew and Isla's relationship and what was going on, I read this book in a couple of sittings! The storyline is addictive and you won't be able to put this story down once you start it!

I really felt for Isla throughout this novel actually. I felt she was really hard done by and no matter how much stress Drew was under, I felt his behaviour certainly didn't warrant it. I couldn't imagine being in a relationship and being spoken to like that all the time. It must have drained poor Isla, what with all the work she had to do herself as well, what with the children and the running of the household. So let's just say that Drew wasn't exactly in my good books for most of the novel, but I have to be honest and say he made up for it at the end.

As well as Drew and Isla, there is also quite a lot of involvement of the characters from the first novel which I really loved. I enjoyed reading about them some more and I found that the community spirit within Love Heart Lane was utterly heartwarming and so lovely! Everyone really pulled together when something bad happens and it's really nice to see. Even though old characters are mentioned, you don't need to have read the first novel to understand what is happening in this one, they can be read as a standalone really easily. The setting in these novels are also so idyllic, it's a joy to read!

Lovely characters, has some suspence in the form of Nate, who is he,the strange phone calls but everything is revealed in the end.
Relaxing read,good description all around.

I loved this book. A wonderfully warm story of family, friends and community, pulling together when its needed the most. There is much of the story revolving around the relationship of Drew and Isla, that i could really relate to and i am certain many readers will to. Grab yourself a copy and snuggle yourself down and enjoy being on Foxglove farm.

I really enjoyed this book having read the previous book In the Love Heart Lane series, I was so excited to read Foxglove Farm, it was full of warmth and lovable characters that grow on you, it's the perfect read to cosy up with.

I loved this book!! I just knew it was going to be exactly the kind of book that I could pick up and fall in love with it straight away! I had read the first book in the series a while back and was completely captivated by it, so I made sure this time I had an uninterrupted day where I could start and finish it all in one go. The characters came flooding back as soon as I started reading, and I could feel the welcome from Bonnie’s Teashop, the smells from Isla’s farm and the cold Scottish weather!

Over on Foxglove Farm, it was obvious that Isla and Drew were having a few marital problems. I really felt for Isla as she had no idea what she’d done and Drew, being a typical man, wasn’t being very forthcoming with the answers. Isla seemed to be very lonely up at the farm, looking after their two children and doing everything else around the house (which Drew seemed to conveniently forget about!), and whilst she had her friends, Felicity and Allie, I gave a silent cheer when her grandmother returned from her travels! Without giving away too many spoilers, after an accident up at the farm Isla discovers that Drew hasn’t been completely honest with her. Initially I was so angry with Drew for the situation he has put his family in, although I wasn’t as angry as Isla obviously was! But as the story moved on, and you realised what had happened and why Drew did what he did, I really felt for them all.

It was great to see the community rally round again when one of their own needed help, and it certainly helped convince me again that Heartcross is definitely the place to live! I loved the warmth and love that oozed not just from the characters, but the village as a whole and it made me wipe away a tear more than once! The animals featured at the farm were also delightful and whilst I’m not overly keen on milking cows, I really like the idea of having some alpacas! (It’s just a pity my garden isn’t big enough!)

This book was, without a doubt, filled to the brim with family, friends and bucketfuls of love! By the time I’d got to the end of the first page, I was hooked and I didn’t put it down until I’d finished it. This author has such a talent for creating stories that leave the reader with a big smile on their face and warm feeling in their heart. It was an absolutely fabulous story and I was genuinely sorry when it finished! I would highly recommend not just this book, but also other books by this author because they are just as good!!

Finally though, there was also a storyline in the book which needs to be acknowledged, when one of the characters suffers with mental health problems. This book is all light, fluffy and lovely for the majority, but there is a serious underlying message that says if you are feeling sad, down, depressed or suicidal, there is always someone who will listen. Talk to someone – it’s okay not to be okay.

I really liked this book with all its twist and turns in it I thought the grab turning up was going to be worse for the characters than what it was she was a lifesaver in the end.
I just new nate was no good right from the time he walked in.
I'm glad a book that was written for woman had a man's mental health story in as its always the woman who have problems so glad this book showed the way partners have to pick up the pieces whether it's men or woman's mental health problems.
There needs to be more story's with men's problems in them and how hard it is for them not just glossing over and the men are better straight away this book shows it takes time to be able to talk about it even with the ones you love.
Can't wait to read more of Christies books.

I was thrilled to have an ARC from Netgalley, as I had already read and loved the first book in the Love Heart Lane series. This book can be read as a Standalone book, but I think that it is more enjoyable when it is read as part of the series.
This book focuses on Isla and Drew, who own the farm. Shortly after the birth of their second Son, Drew becomes withdrawn and starts to snap at Isla. As things seem to go from bad to worse, Isla tries to help, but it seems that she might have made things worse.
This book had plenty of drama which made me want to read on, to find out what happened next. There was also some romance and fun. I loved reading about the farm animals too.
This book was very enjoyable, and I am eagerly looking forward to the next book in the series.

Wow, what a brilliant story, beautifully written and a pleasure to read. This is set on a farm and the whole thing is based on that but it is a wonderful love story, you must read this. You wont want to put this book down and when you come to the end you want it to continue. I would recommend this book, it shouldn't sit on the selves for long. I know that I will be reading it again and would buy it for gifts as well. Read, enjoy then read again at a later date.

Another fantastic book from Christie.. loved the first book so it was great to revisit old places and catch up with the character. Although a great book as a stand-alone I’d suggest reading the first for the back story.

After reading the first in this series, Love Heart Lane I was very eager to read Foxglove Farm. Please believe me I was not disappointed.

We met Isla and Drew briefly in the first book however Foxglove Farm is centred on these characters and their family. We are also reunited with characters from Love Heart Lane such as Felicity and Fergus. It was amazing to be back in the village of Heartcross and their incredible community spirit.

Isla and Drew are met with various challenges on Foxglove Farm such as financial difficulties and struggling through a rough patch in their marriage. Without going into too many specifics of the plot, Christie writes realistically and sensitively about mental health. I really commend her on writing about this subject as it is still surrounded by so much stigma.

My favourite character in this book has to be Isla as she is determined to help fix things with the farm even if that means getting her hands dirty. She also wants to try everything possible to fix her marriage. What’s that saying “Love is worth fighting for!” I also love little Finn and Angus, Finn had me laughing towards the end of the story. All of the characters are great as they stick together no matter what happens, once again the Heartcross community spirit shines through the pages ❤️

There was plenty of drama packed into this story which had me permanently on my toes. So many twists and turns that I was totally not expecting. I don’t want to spoil these events however you should definitely find out for yourself!

Foxglove Farm is about family, love, community and most of all just sticking together no matter what life throws at you 😊 I can not wait for the next instalment of the series! I give Foxglove Farm a very deserving 5*/5*

Thank you so much to HarperImpulse for the advanced copy of this book via Netgalley.

I had absolutely adored Christie Barlow's first book, Love Heart Lane so I couldn't wait to get stuck into this book. I loved being back in a familiar place with familiar people. I thought Isla was such a powerful female main character and I loved how she dealt with the difficulties she faced. Another fantastic read from Barlow.

Foxglove Farm is a lovely book that I thoroughly enjoyed and I found read really well as a standalone book as I hadn't read the first book in the series.

In the brilliant new release from Christie Barlow you get to know Drew, Isla and their young family. This is a story that draws you in from the off and makes you want to keep reading until you reach the very last page.

The lovely Foxglove Farm is a picturesque working farm in the Scottish Highlands that sounds absolutely beautiful and is the family home to Drew and his family. During this visit to Love Heart Lane you meet the wonderful inhabitants of the village again and spend time with Drew and Isla as they hit a really sticky patch where they rely on their friends and family to help them find their way.

A truly brilliant book that will make you laugh and bring tears to your eyes. I loved delving into this story and finished reading in just a couple of sittings as I was so keen to keep turning the pages and experience the highs and lows alongside Isla. I can't wait to read the next instalment at Love Heart Lane as this one was such a lovely light hearted read.

A lighthearted and relaxing story, perfect for a lazy summer afternoon.
I loved the setting, the likable cast of characters and the plot.
The books is engrossing and entertaining and the setting lovely.
I look forward to reading other books by this author.

Readers return to Love Heart Lane for the love story of Isla and Drew Allaway, a couple who is struggling under the demands to parenthood and running a busy farm. The best part of this book is the community and surrounding characters. Readers who have read the other books in the series will already know Isla and Drew, and may, like me, feel they already knew the character’s story. Still, this is a lovely, heart warming series bound to bring a smile to your face

This started off well but I just found it completely unbelievable, the way Drew acted was unbelievable and by that I mean I know he was suffering but as soon as he tells Isla, low and behold it’s all sorted and he all fixed. As someone who has suffered depression this really isn’t how it works and completely undermines mental health sufferers. It seemed to be added as just a plot mover and treated with no sensitivity or regard to the issues. Martha I also found unlikeable and unsympathetic and although I started off liking Islaby the end I’d just given up. So unfortunately a big no from me.

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion

Every Christie Barlow book I read I always say it's my favourite.
I truly loved this story. I completely fell in love with the characters and the location, all so fabulously described that I felt like I was there on the farm and living the life! Those alpacas sounded adorable.
It’s got everything you could want from a book, the community spirit of all pulling together in a crisis, family, love and loss.
I absolutely loved it.
It was an emotional read too. The author touched on many delicate subjects, things people don’t talk about including depression and money worries.
Although Isla and Drew were the main characters, I really had a soft spot for Martha.
I’m sad that I’ve finished it, I just wanted to keep reading. I got totally hooked on it.
This is book 2 in the series, I would recommend reading Love Heart Lane first (which was fabulous!) to get the full back story of the people in the small village of Heartcross. It could be read as a standalone though, as the focus is on different characters. I’m really looking forward to the next book.
Thanks to HarperImpulse and NetGalley for the review copy in which I give my honest opinion.

Thank you for Harper Impulse and Net gallery for the opportunity to review this book,

This is the second book in this series and I was worried would not follow the story as I have nyot read the first in the series. There was no need to have been worried, I’m guessing that things were mentioned from the previous book but it in no way detracted from this wonderful story.

Isla and Drew are happily married, have 2 beautiful boys and live at Foxglove Farm. One morning Drew starts an argument with Isla about her spending habits and tells her she will have to get a job. Isla thinks that maybe Drew is feeling a bit unloved so she buys him a pack of alpacas for his birthday. Things then rapidly unravel for the couple and you are left wondering if their marriage can survive.

I read this book on a lazy Sunday afternoon and it was the perfect tonic to a stressful week. The descriptions of the location of the Farm and surrounding area are so amazing that you feel like you are there with the characters. I was rooting for Isla and Drew from the start and the arrival of her Gran added a touch of humour to the tale.

Christie Barlow also addresses men’s mental health in a very positive way which is always a good thing in my book. It’s Ok to not be Ok.

I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the books in this series now.

As a reader I am very happy to revisit Heartcross and Love Heart Lane. Isla wasn’t the brightest bulb here but I give her a pass for being an overworked mum. Overall this was a good read and I devoured it in a few hours.

Looking forward to the next book.

Isla and Drew live at Foxglove farm which has been in Drew’s family for generations. Drew hasn;t been himself lately and Isal wonders is this is a result of the combination of having a new baby in the house and the long hours he works on the farm, however he keeps going on at her about getting a job and him being the “cash cow” breadwinner something he would never have done before. when Isla’s gran arrives on the doorstep Isal receives some support and positivity- Martha lives every day as if it is her last and is even on Tinder to spice up her life a little! When Isla surprises Drew with a herd of alpacas for his birthday things go from bad to worse. Is their marriage falling apart and what is Drew hiding? This is one of those books that makes you look at life and how things can change in the blink of an eye. One minute everything is going swimmingly and then before you realise it you are wading through deep, thick, smelly stuff. I liked Isla and her tenacity to fight for what she believed in and for her family despite one of them fighting against her nd a community having been through a tough time when the bridge collapsed pulling together to make things happen. This is the second in the Love Heart Lane series
